POE2 SSF Shatter Monk Leveling is INSANE

Nice Video. I am running a similar build and it is a ton of fun. One thing I did for rage is get +1 rage on melee hit on all my jewels and this meant I could free up the support slot. NVM realised you are SSF. Gear is looking very good for SSF. The staff is pretty nuts

I think freeze is just busted still, feels like the most insane "defensive layer" more than anything else I've messed with. Because every build ends up in a position where you tend to kill stuff fairly quick being able to lock everything down for the duration they're alive is just silly.

Absolutely love frost Monk, though I have always had Glacial Cascade as a back up ranged in case I ran into troublesome mobs and man it has saved me so many times lol, it's crazy how much damage that skill does.

I had a similar experience with campaign bosses on my ice caster at launch. Freeze is just so nice as long as you have the dps to make use of the freeze time

It's not like monk is broken in terms of class / ascendacy, actually kinda sad to see "i am the blizzard / thunder" has similar notable on passive tree, rather than quarterstaff skills are amazing (apart from wind skills for now, i believe 3rd ascendancy will have synergy with it)

Staves are the broken part. Who thought giving warstaves 10-11% crit rate and 1.4 attack speed while two handed maces are stuck with 5% crit and 1.1 attack speed, not to mention far slower attack skill options.

monk isnt broken. pretty weak for the most part, unless you have very good gear in which case it doesnt matter.

Starting monk with no gear is pain. Once you get to Act 2 it starts to feel better.

Yeah, quarterstaff skills feel amazing. Ice, lightning, wind, all three feel super fun to play.

If/when they nerf monk, i hope they still leave it a bit over powered because melee classes really need an extra leg up over ranged. That said, they really nailed the gameplay-feel of the monk, excellent design (numbers just may need a tweak).

It’s just bell. And that’s a melee skill. Nerfing it would not be received well. Monks don’t have tankiness of Warrior but we do big DMG. Give and take..

How did you get such good gear ? 99% of what I find is not worth crafting further, the remaining 0.99% gets bricked when I augment it and once in a blue moon I get something that might be worthwile spending some exalt on. Same with the vendors. What are the secrets to crafting that I am missing ? I would like to understand...

Have you looked at the the "Heft" support gem? It seems to have good effect on convert physical damage to another damage cause of it having 30% more maximum physical damage, instead of just more physical damage.

conversion doesnt work like it does in poe1. if you increase the physical damage, it only increases the physical damage remaining after the conversion

Something that gives a multiplier to physical damage, like heavy swing support, won't apply after conversion (Pohx shows it increasing the tooltip damage on tempest bell, but when you hit tempest bell and apply an ailment it then converts the physical damage which doesn't show on the tooltip). But the heft support gem is changing the actual physical hit roll so I think it applies before conversion, although I don't have a character to test this on and there seem to be lots of bugs around that gem so who knows if it's working as intended or if it's working at all

I’m well aware of how painful those nerfs were, but I think there’s some important nuance there. People are still doing powerful things with sorceress and Stormweaver is still dominating the Standard ladder. It’s just that the *casual, low budget* experience is underpowered. (Also I think there’s not much diversity left in what works well; part of the reason I’m struggling is that I’m still trying to make cold spells work and not jumping on the spark archmage bandwagon hard enough.)

Really curious how you handled campain levelling in SSF because mid game really is toughest part in SSF, you don't have enough currency to craft and if you are unlucky with merchants you a screwed.

Concentraded effect actually works on ice strike, its a free 40% dmg boost Also, u can level up to 14 with bow and lightning arrow, its faster than staff skils

@@VyxelOPyou can’t chain bells with hourglass, in lategame you need multiple bells per boss and hourglass is negative dps on tanky bosses. I did use hourglass until lvl 70ish and that was fine for campaign

@@Magge67 haven't really noticed. I'm doing ice monk so my aoe is from herald of ice and shattering palm, so atleast in my setup, its free damage. And I'm only at t11 maps atm so haven't needed to chain bells yet, will likely switch off of hourglass when its pinnacle time.

i think its viable, im at lvl70 only on tier 2 map and my build is far from optimal (i got some physical/stun/daze passives too) but i get 5k/6k dmg with tempest flurry. I have no problem clearing anything problem is more survivability, mb i should have use those stun point into evasion. the evasion to armor ascendency is a must

Crit damage on your weapon will skyrocket your crit damage. with that 23% youd go from 500% crit damage to 700%

Also the palm is so good at freezing you can put ice bite with the more build up from freeze and you will proc it easy and often

@@michals1108 Ah, yeah, so less an issue of casual vs hardcore players, more an issue of certain skills/builds being drastically better or worse than average? If so, I understand, it’s gotta feel bad to be excited about a build and have it flop like with blood magic, but that’s more of an early access thing than specifically a PoE 2 thing. We’re slowly working towards a more-balanced game
