I think Propose is particularly addictive because of the intense desperation you can here in their vocals. Dreamcatcher has quite a few bops about unhealthy romance but usually they are more laid back with their vocals like in Because, Poison Love, and Red Sun. In Propose, however, they screaming at the top of their lungs at some points while being fully sincere at others and then Dami's descent into madness. We rarely hear our Dreamies vulnerable like this.

I gotta say, that desperation really really suits them! I love their laid-back songs too, but they sang Propose so well I'm craving more like this!

dreamcatcher \:D/ the one posted a month ago was taken from the live showcase stream. the new one posted a few days ago is almost exactly the same but they fixed the part where the camera was on siyeon instead of gahyeon. the lyrics should be pretty accurate since after all most of it is in english :D as for the meaning, well like most dreamcatcher songs you can read it multiple ways. the simplest is obsessive/destructive relationship/love and there are a number of other dreamcatcher songs along this line. however you can also read it as the other person not being another person, but yourself. just like with demian, many dreamcatcher songs are about maintaining your identity which could include a struggle with your inner demons.

Imagine you are living in a country where some kind of love isn't accepted or kept dead quiet. But you feel that love and you want to show it openly against all odds. You are aware that if you would do it, you would be looked down as an evil person by the repressive public opinion. You might even affect your beloved one negatively. Nevertheless you couldn't withdraw from your loved one emotionally because your passion is too strong. So your love would be a curse and singing about it could sound desparately...

"Propose" in this version is the best of Dreamcatcher so far for me. I guess I've heard pretty much everything official releases for almost 4 years now and it's been really great - but that? For me one of the best songs. And it's always the beautiful voices that make it unique. Dreamcatchers are sooo good. And keep getting better, every time. Unbelievable.
