OMG I've watched all of your videos. I'm always so excited to see when you upload a new video. Sometime I go back and rewatch some of your videos. I get some inspired when I watch your videos because we are both biracial, have curly hair, and love to read. You are the whole reason why I'm such a big reader today and I will continue to be a BOOKWORM because of you. One day I would love to meet you and talk about books

Wheras by Layli Long Soldier, When I Grow Up I Want to Be a List of Further Possibilities by Chen Chen, The Last Two Seconds by Mary Jo Bang, Don't Call Us Dead by Danez Smith, & I haven't gotten to "Teaching My Mother How to Give Birth" yet, but I can't get over the Warsan Shire that Beyonce quoted in Lemonade, so I'm gonna give it a go!

Look up poems by Richard Siken and read a few of them and see if you like them! If you do, you may like his collection Crush. My favorite poem by him starts with "love always wakes the dragon and suddenly flames everywhere. I can tell you think I'm the dragon, that would be so like me, but I'm not. I'm not the dragon..." Also, Night Sky With Exit Wounds by Ocean Vuong.

Funny thing, I feel the same way now (the book high thing) with the book daisy & the six. It was so good and I need to keep reading but I also have this fear that nothing will be as good as this one. Though I feel the same way just about every time I finish a new story, whether that might be a book, tv show or movie.

"Teaching My Mother to Give Birth" by Warsan Shire! She is a Somali author who actually wrote all of the poetry for Beyoncé's "Lemonade" film! I HIGHLY recommend the audiobook and its on scribd, her voice and accent are beautiful. Also, anything by Reyna Biddy. She is an afro-latina mom and her work is incredible. She has spoken word albums out and 2 poetry collections that are beautiful. If you want a sample of her work, the 1st track of Kelani's album "Sweet, Sexy, Savage" is Reyna reading a poem!! I also love Tanaya Winder who is an indigenious poets and has out a few books, my favorite is "Why Storms Are Named After People But Bullets Remain Nameless"!!
