You had the blue note sapphire eyes To back up all those gazes To pierce my guard and to take my soul off To faraway places Told me I'll never be alone 'Cause you're right there We took a gamble with this love Like sailing to the storm With the waves rushing over to take us We were battling against the tide You were my beacon of salvation I was your starlight So don't cry for your love Cry tears of joy 'Cause you're alive Cradled in love Don't cry for your love Cry tears of joy 'Cause you're alive Cradled in love... I kept the love you gave me alive And now I carry it with me I know it's just a tear drop from mother earth But in it I can hear a dolphin sing Telling me I'll never be alone I know you're right there So with the fire still burning bright I wanna gaze into your light If I could see my fortune there You know how flames can hypnotize Do I even dare to speak out your name for fear It sounds like Like a lover So don't cry for your love Cry tears of joy 'Cause you're alive Cradled in love Don't cry for your love Cry tears of joy 'Cause you're alive Cradled in love Don't cry for your love Cry tears of joy 'Cause you're alive Cradled in love Don't cry for your love Cry tears of joy 'Cause you're alive Cradled in love ... The moment my husband and I (just dating at the time) heard this song we knew that if we ever got married this was to be our first dance at our wedding. Lo and behold Almost two years ago we danced as husband and wife to this song. It meant so much to us in those early days and means so much more to us now. Poets in general means a lot to our relationship

It amazes me how Poets of the Fall are able to present lyrics and music that can be interpreted in so many soul-touching ways. I've seen a lot of comments about how this song is joyful, full of hope, about self-love, etc. But for me it always was one of the saddest songs i've ever heard, one of the few that can make me tear up even after the 100th listen. This song, and this is supported by the video, the story of someone longing for love, the ever-present despair, fear of being rejected, the struggle leading up to admitting feelings to someone special who passes through your dim, gloomy life. The narrator encourages himself through the chorus lines "you are worthy of love, don't be ashamed, don't be afraid". And yet... in the end, she leaves. All that hope, gone. All the light, darkened. All the harmony, dismantled. This song is about hope, but the video crushes it.. Long live PotF, artists who can touch souls are quite rare. You are amongst them.

Jennifer Hall It's really beautiful what music can do cybor hugs to your daughter, I'm glad she found comfort and healing in Poets of the Fall song too. For me it was Dawn, my husband discovered Poets through Allen Wake and as a Valentines gift I was KZbining to see what albums Lift and Carnival of Rust was on and if any other songs where good, which at that point I wouldn't have known music had just become background noise to me, but I fell asleep with the headphones on and heard Dawn in a dream I didn't see my son but I felt he was there, like he was saying Mommy you've mourned me long enough, my dream-self was tore up ugly snotty crying and everything but I jolted awake to "I'll be standing next to you" really loud in my ears and just like that I felt peaceful, and I'm not one to believe in stuff like that but I do believe I heard the song when I needed it, no matter the true meaning of the lyrics it will always have its own meaning to me.

I am so sorry that you lost your son. I am glad that you found comfort and peace. My daughter is still struggling with her loss. When she had just turned 12, she lost her first crush to suicide. He was just 10 years old. Next month will make it a year, and she is so depressed again. But she is very strong, and I know that she will get through this. I just wish there was more I could do to help her

Look at other current male artists wearing feather boas, guy-liner, tight/skinny jeans... The issue with US radio is that they prefer very catchy songs while label records having an agenda that can blur what the actual artists truly want. As an American, US radio & mainstream Hollywood would instead destroy the identity of POTF, like how many country musicians/artists have become utterly subpar post- 2010s, are more pop now and artistic writing has been dumbed down because these different labels can affect the quality or ability artists can do with their content. The industry & market to many can break many groups who aren't prepare to face other complications adapting to new audiences and marketing by sponsors.

My uncle recently passed, and I couldn't help but think of this song. The line "cuz you're alive, cradled in love" actually made me cry. It reminded me of my aunt, who stood by his side until the very end; despite their rocky relationship before he got sick. The way she kissed his forehead at the hospital, and when the news finally came of his passing. It still makes me tear up just thinking about it, and that's why I love Poets of the Fall so much. @@thomasbaron5367, I'm really sorry to hear about that. Losing the most loved person in our life is a real stab to the heart. But, as the Song says, my friend, "don't cry for your love, cry tears of joy, 'cause you're alive.." .. she'll always be alive as long as you'll keep her in your memories (giving her name to a daughter won't be a crime..). That doesn't mean you won't have another love, it depends on you.. Remember: nobody wants a beloved person to be sad.. Be alive, live life an, enjoy love

She gave him the love he always needed and managed to get through all of his guards that kept him from getting close to anybody. He's telling her that even though she is no longer alive in the world, she is still alive in him, essentially "cradled in love".

I wish people realized how real this is. It's not just a music video with catchy lyrics. It's a reality many people live without anyone ever knowing. Or at least not consciously. Some things are so bad people shy away from them. Instead of accept them as they are. I don't expect many people to understand what I'm truly talking about. But the ones who do, will. Those are the ones I'm talking to anyway.

He's a ghost who once had life like us . He's trying to tell us about the precious of life and we are wasting it for false love . Still He's just a Phantom listeners for a human thought now, as we cannot hear or see them . The song is Justifying him using the sense of Imaginary and writing a scripts through inner connectivity and feelings of one's indescribable heart.

I listened to this song for five years loving it every time I heard it, it is a magical song that awakens consciences, whoever listens will no longer be the same person as before, everything changes for the better. I found myself, and I can say that this song helped me to understand who I am, saved me literally, I heard it a thousand times and every time it calmed me down, but only today, I understood the power of that music and the voice, the melody, the context and the intention of someone awake who designed it and my retribution will be to make this band shine brighter than the midday sun.
