This song literally came out at the perfect time in my life. I met the most amazing woman this summer. We fell for each other so quick. She was only here for a short time. Her Visa expired a week ago and she returned home. I drove her down to NYC so she could catch her flight home to Bosnia... the night before she left, we visited times square at 3 AM. There was a guy standing there with a big speaker preforming his rap songs. I walked over to him, slipped him a twenty and asked if I could plug my phone into it for one song... I played this. I grabbed her by the hand... and we danced to this song... I just started tearing up when I wrote that line... I miss her so much.

Absolutely love this song. Up until a few months ago, I had no clue they even existed, then they popped up as a suggestion, so I gave them a listen. I was going through a rough time, seeing how my wife had just left me, taking our two kids with her. I had hit rock bottom and needed any little bit of hope and comfort I could find. Poets Of The Fall helped me in a way that no other band has. I could feel the passion and love in their music, and it brought me a fair share of comfort. Things worked out in the end and now I have my family back. Not saying the Poets are the reason for it, but their music sure helped me keep my hopes up and make it through the darkest hour of my life. Forever a fan.

such a happy tune for such a sad story....... or wait, maybe it isn't that sad after all?...... the moment she's looking at herself in the mirror in despair and suddenly changes into a positive feeling tells it all....... live and enjoy the moment folks, none of us know whether we shall be here tomorrow, do we? but we ARE alive here and now...... once again, a beautiful, deep message from these wonderful poets....... and another even deeper message: true love is always much stronger than death.

Lyrics This place a palace of light drawn with shade Of silence and pretence a token of our trade And here you and I lie wreathed in flames All over a life lived by making up new games Of gazes and whispers I want you to know I still love you Even though we've been dancing on broken glass Parade all your memories, for the moments we shared Never fade away I want you to know I still love you When I walk down the memory lane Where the night swears its love to the stars There will be no more tears today, hey hey We shared a penchant for cyanide praise Fashioned our armours of empathy's malaise And all of that hurt, and all of those words that we said You'd think we poisoned the ground on which we tread But the lining is silver I want you to know I still love you Even though we've been dancing on broken glass Parade all your memories, for the moments we shared Never fade away I want you to know I still love you When I walk down the memory lane Where the night swears its love to the stars There will be no more tears today, hey hey The best of intentions will not see the road paved The end of illusions, who could ever be saved What's left behind in the storms that we braved The troubles we find and the chances we waived We're going where dreams really come true And we won't be held back by our fears Come hell or high water We'll trust there's a life for us here this way I want you to know I still love you Even though we've been dancing on broken glass Parade all your memories, for the moments we shared Never fade away I want you to know I still love you When I walk down the memory lane Where the night swears its love to the stars There will be no more tears today, hey hey Hey hey

The Poets truly understand the majesty and beauty that resides within love and acceptance. So many poignant and amazing messages put forth here. I also believe the leading man is indeed the older gentleman crying in the "Love Will Come To You" video. The fact that they appear to be in an amusement park or carnival leads me to think that this song is thematically opposite to "Carnival of Rust." That song heavily dealt with the love of material possessions over true human connection under a palette of washed out colours representing a loss of passion. Here however there is a sense of vibrancy and bright colour everywhere. So brilliant!
@chiffmonkey
@chiffmonkey 5 жыл бұрын
"It's all a game, avoiding failure, when true colours will bleed." - CoR, "Her clashes of colours are flashes of society in ashes." - The Game, "Passion Colours Everything", CoR video has a token at the end "Cor Cordis", the tin can game they're playing is called "Break for Freedom" in CoR - a foreshadowing of "Revolution Roulette" in the same way that "House of Dusk" is a foreshadowing of "Twilight Theater". Also the bit with the wine glass seems to be a reference to Daze.

Both scenes in black and white and they both are looking off to that same looking river. That aside, yet another very beautiful song and video by the Poets. To the people who complain about the new songs "not being rock", do you understand that most of Poets' songs are like this? To me it seems like those who dislike the song have only heard the most popular songs like Lift. Plus you already have False Kings on the same album, which is a completely different song.

I just hope there will be more prominent guitar and some memorable riffs in the rest of the album. It's not that it's not "rock" but that it feels like it wants to be in the radio for casuals to listen and maybe discover poets. Song is good. But I would be really disappointed if they completely pushed the guitars into the background just for the pop sound. And by the way Olli is very skilled guitarist maybe his track Firefly is way of coping with the band going into that direction that has very little of guitar.
@BigFry9591
@BigFry9591 5 жыл бұрын
There songs were always equalized and compressed all to hell? There vocals were always pushed back and had less attention? Hell, I don't recall even a single guitar solo in their last album. Ever since Clearview, there HAS been a decline in their quality. And, as for this new song, it sounds like so generic that it hurts. You could easily turn on the radio and hear something similar. Which, is something that you can't say about their past songs.
@CeliriaRose
@CeliriaRose 5 жыл бұрын
@BigFry9591 There hasn't been a decline in quality, you just don't like it. You not liking something doesn't make it bad. The song is perfectly up to their usual quality it's simply a matter that the band wants to aim for a different style with their recent albums just like they always have. They are like a painter who wants to use a different color. And just because someone else may have used that color doesn't mean they shouldn't be able to use it as well.

But now I understand who is the old man with roses in Love Will Come Again to You...😶😥

POTF haven't been sounding like the band that we all fell in love with. Even if the music video was good, I had to dislike the video. For the sake of POTF being the band that is different from all others, and not another generic sounding indie band.

BigFry9591 So a band like Poets of the Fall can't have a feel-good album? They can't experiment? You want them to produce the same sound, over, and over, and over again to their potential boredom?

+Lauren Richards-Evans NO! Oh, no no no, absolutely not. My problem isn't with their diversity in music. Allow me to quote another of my posts: "It's always been so difficult to find a band that sounds anything like them. I've even looked on Google to see, and the closest people say to them are bands like Breaking Benjamin and Linkin Park. But, those bands are nowhere close to sounding like POTF. But, now..... the music that I've been hearing from you..... it just sounds like generic indie background music. It doesn't seem to hold the same level depth that are abundant in all your previous works." I enjoy the music video, and the message, but the sound just doesn't hold the same punch. It pains me to say, but this song sounds worse than any of the songs on their Clearview album. Which is my least favorite album, not saying that it's bad.

. . I love Poets Of The Fall very much and it's very sad that many people don't know about them. After all, this is a beautiful band with very good songs, and a band with a wonderful vocalist, whose voice runs down the body. The song is beautiful, but while in my heart the pedestal of the most beloved song is the song "Carnival of rust". Thanks for your works.
