Arpg's are really easy to make compared to a lot of other types of games. As long as you do a good job of keeping assets polymorphic it is extremely easy to plug in new content once the foundation is complete

@@Skazi31 I know. Vanilla Diablo 3 was a bad time. But, most game companies would have just given up (see Mass Effect Andromeda). Blizzard spent the next two years redesigning the game completely and actually created something very good in the end. It could have been much worse, they could have just sold the franchise to china to make MTX laden mobile games while they focused the entirety of their future efforts on warcraft.

Thanks so much for explaining how the Devotions work. I have to admit I was too lazy to look up and read the manual, but as complex as this game is I just could bring myself to spend the time to plow though it all. I love the game and having someone clear up something quickly makes it more enjoyable instead of spending a lot of time going through a huge manual. Thanks much!

just bought Grim Dawn and having alot of fun. I like D3 around launch gameplay. Anyways I like Gunslinger Demolitionist alot. 1st question: Is there a way to add more burn / bleed damage to the build. ? 2rd question: I added Shaman as the second class. Can I get rid of that ?? later on?? - LvL 32 currently and slowing learing the game. Doing bounties and general exploring. Not in a rush to end the game..

as long as you didn't spec a point into shaman you can still respec it, once you've put points into the class you can only respec it down to 1 point

story spoilers: afaik the spirit guide dies in the defense of the prison, that happens after completing the main campaign (act IV I believe), when there's a huge aetherial at the prison gate

the spirit guide in coven is a different npc, you can see sadinha's grave near the training dummies in devil's crossing, she's dead

Do you have a guide how scaling, damage, resistances etc. in this game work? I've tried myself on a pet cabalist and it pretty much sucks. I'm on level 61 now, got a little over 600% all damage for pets unbuffed and some resistances maxed out on them, most are around 60% with buffs. The gear sucks at the moment, just crafted most of it to get something together and farm for better gear. I am currently still playing on Veteran btw. www.grimtools.com/calc/q2MADor2

Asenkraft Your defensive and offensive ability on your pets is really low, probably causing them to not hit 100% and being able to be crit by enemies, dont worry too much about resistances as the curse from occultist will take care of all of that.

Thank you! Looking at the pre- and suffixes of the items it looks pretty difficult to raise OA and DA. What do you think would be a good value to aim for? And can I look ingame at the percentages of my Pets for crit and hitchance? If so I have missed it

Not sure if you can see it for your pets specifically, but the best way to raise OA and DA for your pets is through devotions afaik, you can also try ranking up master of death, since it gives %OA to pets, Staff of rattosh devotion has some OA and DA for your pets aswell, Scorpion is good if bound to the skeletons since it will proc on their location, reducing enemies their DA for easier hits/crits, apart from that try looking for as much OA and DA to pets on gear as possible, In your grimtools link you're sitting on 624% pet damage, I'd say aslong as you stay at 500% you should be good on that front till the end of elite. Not sure on the exact numbers you'll want your OA and DA at, I generally get mine high enough to not get crit by enemies and have atleast 100% hit chance against them. Hope this helps atleast a lil bit, I'm not an expert on pet builds.

It'll take some patience, pet builds usually start off a bit slow, it'll get much better as you gain levels and equip with higher damage, offensive ability, and very importantly total/attack speed. Pet have their own stats and scaling, so items and devotions that affect them will show them beneath the normal stats, exept auras with radius, those affect all allies so they benefit from it ofc. Remember to use devotion procs on them! As pohx stated, some constellation won't give them any buff, but the proc skills can often be attached to pets, thus scaling with their bonuses (offensive ability and damage scaling, so basically they crit and hurt a lot with them) and most importantly remember that when you want the proc skill to hit really hard it's a good think to link it to a high level or even maxed out pet skill (for they get around +100% damage that only works on themselves but when scaling the proc it stacks with yours, so if you have +600% dmg for pets, and you're using scorpion sting on your maxed hound(for example) it will actually scale as if +700% was applied, besides , the more points increase max hp, and iirc it should slightly increase the base defensive and offensive ability of the pet, thus scaling well with % bonuses. So find like the 2-3 pets you're gonna rely mostly on for procs and max them. Skills won't help, usually would reduce the dps for they take time to cast reducing the procs from basic attacks, but passive bonuses/buffs could be useful (ex. storm spirit for the raven , i never used it cuz my pets were mostly phys dmg and my ele res reached 80 anyway), so pick the skills that really add damage or have a specific use to your build in order not to cripple the petsy. hope it helps! Edit: if you're still at the first difficulty do not bother with DA and OA right now, at those level relics and items with good bonuses to those barely exist, aim for damage and speed, it's probably the best way to improve clearing at those levels.. Try faction items, some of those might be actually useful for leveling

Why the FUCK can I not view the skill tree of another class. I'm level 6 inquisitor, I want to view the skill tree of the goddamn necromancer. What do I fucking have to do start a new fucking character, get to lvl 1 to look at skill trees. Even grim dawns website doesn't have an area to view the skill trees. Yes I know there are probably 3rd party websites that will show the skill tree, but that isn't the point. It should be in the fucking game.

Also, the Wiki has all of the skill trees, as well as the relevant numbers (cost, duration, damage, etc.) of each skill both at lv1 and at max.
