You ever consider that it’s because you, a human are in the forest as the other animals are scared of you? We are big dangerous predators to all sorts of animals all over the globe. It’s been documented in African savanna’s that the sound of human voices frightens prey animals more than lions or hyenas. I live in north east Florida and used to walk about a mile a night to and from a friend's house out in the country where I grew up and there used to be this figure that I'd see as a child in the woods looking back as of it had animal eyes but stood like a man. Like a tall deer or something. Then I got older and I used to hear something with heavy steps following me from the wood line and when I'd look the noise stopped. When I walked it walked with me. I was attacked by a neighbors dog one night and the dog disappeared later in the week. The steps always followed me and I always felt watched but never afraid. I always wondered if maybe it were something paranormal guarding me from danger at night. No one's pets ever got hurt other than the occasional snake bite, so it's weird. I still would like to know what it was. *edited because I forgot to include this part* The stretching or screaming occasionally heard off in the distance at night sounded like a cow being branded but was very distorted. Never heard it while walking though.
@jyminewtron14166 ай бұрын
Side note* We never had issues with coyotes, bears, or panthers like some other areas similar to the area I grew up in. When coyotes came around they were usually quiet and not vocal at all and only appeared for a day or 2 throughout the year. Maybe they were afraid of something larger than them. Who knows.

I had a short story of me and cousin. We live in a calm and boring neighborhood. We was gonna go to one of friends house and knock on the door so we can play. Which was a 1 minute walk in the neighborhood. We have a pond behind my house and a big lake with a chainlink fence near the house the friends house. As soon as we got the house we heard our aunt calling us in the north side of the lake. Note these houses were actually 2 story apartments so we got to the upper story. We heard her call us but something was wrong. Our aunt was in our house and the voice was creepy and far. But it sounded near. At first I thought it was my mind messing with me but then my cousin also heard it. We know some bit of about those things but it got closer and closer so we just dipped. Not that interesting but we are not dumbasses.

This isn’t really a skinwalker story but just a creepy one in general from when I was 14.Day 1.The day was normal and I took my dog out in the backyard around 10 to go to the bathroom and play a little game of fetch before bed.I turn around to see something hover above the fence and snap a light (presumably a camera) I ran inside and just thought it was my imagination.Day 2.Nothing happened.Day 3:Took my dog out (this time I had a small knife from the kitchen) and heard “come here I have a secret” and rustling in the leaves coming towards the gate of my yard.I bolted inside my 60 pound dog in my arm and knife in my pocket.Day 4:Home alone I noticed something block a large lantern we had on the ground in our backyard (a large lantern) and then rustling in a bush.I didn’t stick around to find out what.I turned on the light to see a head going over the fence.my parents said it was just a rabbit but later regretted that statement.Day 5:I went out with a small screwdriver and a expandable baton(like one with a button that makes it grow)and heard the gate creak open and saw the vines rustling near the house.I hunkered down and was just told it was a wild animal.Day 6,the hell day.I was home alone except my grandparents who couldn’t really do a anything and were defenseless downstairs.I went out hoping to be quick and after sending my boyfriend off I let my dog out.I went out with her to protect her and I had a small screwdriver.When going in side before I locked the door I was grabbed and my heart dropped.(We all wished to be a hero in a situation like this but are really never mentally prepared for it and to fight for your life) and I was tossed to the ground and over powered by a little bit (I was 5,11 and 140 lbs.I chopped wood and was much stronger than I looked)and dropped down the stairs,the screwdriver resting in the grass beside me.I grabbed it and saw my attacker,my sisters ex(we had thought he had attacked her too but the police never found anything) I was being dragged towards the gate towards a car.I knew if I got close to that car I wasn’t coming home.I broke free from his grasp for a second and got up and grabbed his arms reaching at my chest with a small knife.He slashed my arms and leg I put in for self defense and got cut across my chest.I ducked when he swung for my neck and stabbed him in the thigh and bolted for the garage.I slammed open the door and hit the open button for the door.I started limping down the driveway and eventually down the road while I looked behind me and saw him chasing me down the garage and drive way.I burst out into a sprint(I was a track guy) and was running and limping down the road screaming for my life till a passing truck saw the struggle of me getting eventually caught by my attacker struggling to fight him off.As the truck slowed I punched hi in the face and shoulder checked him and I jumped into the bed of the truck as I almost appeared a house.I got to the police station and a car was sent to my house where my blood trail was all over the place and my attackers(presumably my sisters ex) was cleaned up with expertise(he was a cop).Other than that there was no way I could identify that man.All I could identify was the similar voice and build and his presence.I had never been in such terror in my life.They say fight or flight is one or the other ,but I chose both which is ultimately the reason I survived.

@nightmarekitsune14736 ай бұрын
similar or the same to deer infected with chronic wasting disease? CWD is a prion disease that affects deer and deer-like creatures (elk, moose, etc.), the infected deer will start experiencing symptoms 1-2 years after coming into contact with the disease, and symptoms can include (copied this from the wiki article if you want to look more into it): Behavioral changes, weight loss, decreased interactions with other animals, tremors, repetitive walking in set patterns, increased drinking and urination, excessive salivation and grinding of the teeth, loss of fear of humans, confusion. this sounds similar, but not really the same (haven't listened to the stories yet, just going off of what you typed), you said Not Deer tend to get aggressive, and while CWD changes a deer's behavior, it just makes it out itself in dangerous situations usually, either by erratically running in patterns like the wikipedia article mentioned, and since it gets rid of the fear of humans, it probably doesn't make them fear other animals either, leading to it infecting more animals (studies show that it can affect other animals exposed to it, but researchers have not tested such things on humans, and urge people to kill and incinerate infected deer and to dispose of any infected carcasses), leading to it spreading more through fluids (which is why they excessively salivate and urinate) anyways, sorry for the info dump, just wanted to know if it was similar, the same, or something completely different

@videontekuro9399 1 day ago If the forest goes quiet while I am in it, call me an arsonist, cuz I am setting shit ablaze. Better to hear the crackles of fire, destroying a possibly dangerous area, than sit quietly and wait to get done in. THIS GUY IS DAMN STRAIGHT AND RIGHT

to get away from one , you need to use sage or get someone holy so bless your house but they need to know how to do it correctly so a native American would be best preferably a witch doctor
