Point Of The Stag v2: Special Perk Combos You Should Know About

Point Of The Stag comes back WAY better. Not only does it match the old roll, but surpasses it and has a couple great rolls to go with it. Stag has been one of the best bows in Destiny 2 when it came out and this perk update brought it back to that. Great PvP combo and there are two PvE combos I want you to look for.

I thought precision frame bows had a hardcap of draw time of 612? Only lightweight frames go all the way to 500 draw time, as far as im aware.

@@pyromanticwolf1624Precision bows became able to go down to 540 drawtime when Lightweights became able to go to 500. It’s just that you need an adept draw time mod to hit 540 on a Precision, so most bows are stuck at the old base cap of 576.

Special ammo and sniper nerfs, smg and shotgun nerf. Thats why bows are being more used, but the way they are mostly used are in the back of the map and not fast pace bow shots.

The great thing about Swashbuckler on this bow and Biting Winds with Atherys Embrace is those moments where you use your other gun to get your knife buff, then chuck it down a lane, and swap to the bow before the knife connects to have 1-taps ready for anyone else peaking that lane.

As a long time bow main since forsaken, its so strange seeing them just now kinda get popular. I get that they can be kinda frustrating to play against if you dont know what to do in a dual with em but idk, I think they are still fine, like there is a very clear downside of if your opponent hits their shots they WILL out duel you without you doing some kind of extra thing. Idk i just like that bows make you really think about your loadout and synergies and in all honesty i really enjoy just having some variety in the sandbox that isnt just hand cannons and smgs and nothing else if that makes sense. Idk, its just frustrating to see a ton of vitriol from people any time something new gets the spotlight and i really just hope my playstyle doesnt get hit with a big old nerf because of that. Anyways just a little vent i guess im just very frustrated of this same loop all the time (and also people being always being really shitty and awful to each other)

This gun still holds the title for the most amount of PvP kills on a primary for me, loved it since it came out. Although it started to collect dust once WQ came out, I was still rooting for it and hoping it would be reissued, and now some added Wild Card fireworks give it the fun factor on top of the solid factor. It was so solid back then, that Vorpal on it was more of a bonus that would come up from time to time and I still have clips of making multiple Supers in quick succession take a seat because of this thing. It commands respect in the Legendary Bow world, and I'm glad it's back. Got your exact Swash roll CoolGuy, and still waiting to really break it in at some point but I know it'll be a blast, and no I'm not deleting the original rendition of it haha

The swash roll is really really good on Strand Hunter and warlock just at base. Headshot into strand needle is such a free Melee kill that is effective right in that money 20-32M primary dueling range.

I picked up elastic/pugilist/swash as I want to try it on a float dawnblade. Headshot to celestial fire cleanup, get swashx5, then the combination of heat rises and pugilist gives huge chunks of melee energy back if I get swashx5 one-shots from the air.

i've been using it with precision instrument while searching for, like, any roll with swashbuckler and i've been pleasantly surprised by how effective it is. precision instrument has come in clutch multiple times when peek duelling with warlocks in rifts and overshield titans. the extra damage for basically free always catches them off guard. you already win most peek duels with a bow but precision instrument makes it almost guaranteed. i once took out four whole guardians that were stacked in one warlock's rift, that's how much more damage i was doing per peek than they were.

I went broke last iron banner for my perfect five out of five point of the stag. I am very happy with it. My goal was the perfect 576 drawtime with archers tempo and dragonfly. Beautiful in The crucible with the wild-card and dragonfly combo and great for PVE also

Right before watching this video yesterday I played some IB and focused a drop. I was going to delete it at first but then I saw I had a low draw time. Upon further inspection I saw it was Elastic or high tension, compact or fiberglass and pugilist dragonfly with a DT masterwork. Figured it would be neat to try. Then I watched this video haha. I don't think draw time is as important when you have Archer's Tempo as you make it out to be. With Archer's Tempo proc'd going from a handling mw to a draw time mw is only a 0.02 ttk increase. It is certainly better but it is not Snapshot for bows, in my opinion.

Draw time and reload speed are the most important things to have on a bow. Being able to knock the arrow faster, to draw it faster means quicker time to follow up with a second shot

Hey Coolguy, I don't know if you considered revisiting this Iron Banner bow in The Final Shape given the nerfs to bows in the past few months, but there's one specific weapon perk that makes bows viable for PVP thanks to enhanceable perks. (Also, it's available on the new Solstice bow btw.) It's the same perk that makes Igneous Hammer work: Precision Instrument. Normal Precision Instrument still requires 2 crits for T10 to 4 for optimal TTK up to x2 stacks, and after x2 stacks, you can then 1 crit 1 body players under T10 resilience. Enhanced Precision Instrument, on the other hand, will one crit one body guardians with T7 resilience and lower once you get x1 stacks; it will also kill any guardian with the same requirement at x2 stacks. This bow also can roll with Strategist, which is available on the raid bow, but I find it very useful with the same Osmiomancy Frostpulse build you showcased here.

Speaking of bows, would you consider looking at Lunulata-4b again after all the bow buffs? I've been using it a lot lately and it feels really nice when tagging head shots compared to before. Mine has 43 Accuracy, 97 Aim Assistance (w/ Targeting Adjuster and x3 Stasis Targeting mods) and Rangefinder and it just feels super smooth - I've always loved using Lightweight Frames in PvP so I'm really enjoying this weapon in this sandbox

rangefinder does something weird to bows it makes them super accurate more so than rangefinder affects other weapons although it isnt that great because you are hipfiring a lot with a bow

No the original point of the stag had a curated roll, so it only rolled with what it has and let you pick between two perks in each column. Notice how the bow had no string or arrow options, any modern weapon will give you two choices for those columns

I actually prefer Tyranny of Heaven for this. Sure, you need Radiant for the 1 shot kill, but it can be extended by Ember of Empyrean, AND Tyranny gets Enhanced Swashbuckler, which lasts so much longer than regular Swashbuckler. Or you could use Golden Tricorn on Tyranny, it lasts even longer than Enhanced Swashbuckler but you’ll need to keep getting ability kills so I don’t.

It does, I almost exclusively use that to catch it when throwing into a crowd and it can mostly be heard even in hectic fights but audio might be setup and settings dependent for actually hearing it well

It does. The icon also changes when its time to grab it too. Definitely have to hear for it but once you do its pretty consistent.

I don't know if it's still true but the first version of the bow's Vorpal Weapon did more damage than other bow's Vorpal Weapon. I think it was like 10% more or something.

Kinda off topic from point of the drag, but I’ve been having an interesting time with hierarchy of needs. As a team-shot bow it’s pretty chunky, but it’s definitely outclassed by its legendary counterparts

It is, but if you have the catalyst, getting that draw time up to Hush levels is crazy, and you can keep rings up almost constantly. It's just unfortunate that it takes a while to get there. I've never played on a team with one or two other people running Hierarchy, would be interesting

I know iron banner is a casual game mode. But I would love if they added a way to get adept versions of these weapons. For PVE you have raids and grandmasters. For PVP you just have trials. It would definitely draw more people into iron banner.

People might not like it but for pve on titan I've been using the new strand hand cannon with loose change and pugilist with the mod on so melee kills give unraveling rounds. Get a melee then you can get like 2 kills and your melee is practically back plus unraveling I'd a debuff giving you super fast reloads. You can also spawn tangles and orbs with it to keep up your woven armor. It feels really good all together to have almost 100% melee uptime without using Monte carlo

I got a 88 accuracy roll with no distractions eye of the storm and it's actually a solid duel bow in pvp. If you become good with this bow u will wreck people. Try to stick with teammates and you can pick people off with ease

Managed to snag one with your suggestion of Pugilist and Dragonfly with Elastic String and Drawtime MW for a crisp 576ms Drawtime currently doming people in IB right now lol My only grip is that I wish the sights were like Biting Winds in that it highlights people with a red outline when ADSd But overall this bow is pretty sweet

I would have focused this weapon, if I wasn't so hell-bent on getting a good pressurized precision. Luckily, the default Stag that you get by ranking up is quite good for melee builds in the crucible. Slap that on an arc titan, get a melee kill, and you're ready to rock.

Moving target and high-impact reserves. I've had it one too many times when I hit a guardian with 5 bolts at close range and do 195 damage (which I believe t9 and t10 survive) instead of the 205 you get with HIR and miss out on the kill. I got some good rolls, but not that exact one.

I've focused 35+ POTSes, only one has had Swashbuckler. Also that one drop had no draw time decreases and a bad secondary perk. I'm really never gonna get this thing, and not from a lack of trying...

Its because of checkmate. Bows were way better in that mode, so all the good players started using them. Then they realize that bows are really strong when used by a good player and keep using them in other gamemodes. Auto rifles are actually meta, because they're the best for the most players. Bows are meta according to youtubers because they're only good for those good players.

I took a month after getting it to find the perfect pairings for it, but now I can destroy in crucible with the swash radiant combo and an explosive knife. But like then came so many calls for nerfs, and I just started messing with it lol.

I mean, there are certain bows that are extremely annoying to deal with; Le Monarque with the poison damage (Despite the nerf, its still relatively annoying to fight), Wish-Ender for the wall hacks, Ticu's for the tag and snipe combo it has, just to name a few. But to be fair, I believe the main reason people find them annoying is because of their range and damage, not to mention how they have infinite ammo compared to something like a sniper rifle, couple that with Oathkeepers for Hunters, and you practically have the recipe for pain

I don't see the point of doing that. I think bungie is specifically avoiding putting voltshot on a bow because they saw what that could do on Trinity ghoul and they don't want another repeat of something like wrecking havoc in pve or pvp. So I say do not put voltshot on a bow ever unless you want to invalided the voltshot exotic bow. Trin ghoul

I'm not setting foot into Iron Banner any more. I wanted to get the title done and the matchmaking system kept fucking up. I just need one more win but it was loss after loss. Guess what?! It was Bows, Wells, Bubbles, Bows, Wells, Bubbles, etc. I lost my mind in there. I finally got it done but fuck's sake I hate Iron Banner. If I REALLY wanted this Stag I'd have to hate myself more and sell my kidney to get it right now.

The telesto bolts are actual garbage in PVP, just use the iron banner perk, specially if you running an invis focused hunter.
