What people tend to not realize as this type of sparring is a small percentage of a whole training. Point sparring is equivalent to fencing 🤺. The objective is not to destroy your opponent, inflict mass damage, or even a knockout. It to build reaction, timing and speed. When you incorporate the benefits from point sparring to a full contact training, then you have already checked off the speed and precision aspect of combat. Then it’s time to add the power in the correct moments for the knockout. 27 years in both full contact and sport point sparring has given me best of both worlds. Keep on fighting warrior. Encountering Ignorance will always be a part of the journey

I started in karate at 16. i started in muay thai when I was like 32. i will always love karate but it really isnt very good as a fighting style, there are some moves that are effective, especially open hand and knife edge strikes, but the accuracy needed in actual combat limit these techniques. If you wanna kick someones ass learn to kick their legs out ie muay thai. look up the legendary karate champion Rick Rufous vs muay thai champion Changpuek Kietsongrit back in the 80s.

@@LifeofBreelnah, man. I have done Karate and i'm not against it. But you just can't tell someone "come train" after they watched this video. You will just be made fun of 😂😂

Point fighting Is point fighting. Its not full contact but if u can still use parts of it in a real fight. Keep in mind these guys are not punching or kicking with strong force theyre just tapping the opponent.

Not the most tactical way of f8ghting but the hook heel at the end was nice.

Bro are you dumb? Point sparring is like a game of tag its not like full contact combat sports like muay thai. Respect other martial arts

Guy in purple has a mean blitz! Yall complaining but point sparring isnt full contact. Its POINT sparring. Yall sound stupid and have no idea what your talking about lol just because someones good at point sparring doesnt mean they cant fight full contact. Raymond daniels is a good example of that. Keep up the good work both of you!!

I've done both point and full contact. Point fighting is worthless after black belt.

I'm sure the agility has its uses, but there's no impact here, fighting is more than a game of who can tap someone first

that one where he tapped his face with his foot and was awarded three points....the rules should be changed to intentional significant strikes. or more correctly, actually interpreted correctly by people who have been in a real fight and know that foot slap wouldnt have done anything and ignore it

Kids learn this junk. Spend 5 .....make that TWO years getting a black belt. Then get beat up by their sister. Its just terrible. Karate ruled till the helmets gloves footpads shinguards and shazam GI's came out.
