This is so bad, it is shocking that you would publish it publicly, showing up Abernethy Performing Arts as incredibly lacking in good ballet training, exposing one of your students to potential public ridicule, so inferior is the training she has received, and using a demonstrator so lacking in good ballet technique as a demonstrator for other students to follow. I started this comment pointing out all the issues, then decided not to make an appalling practice demonstration worse by highlighting them. That is your job (obviously not being done), and for the parents of your students, who pay the fees, to figure out that their children/teens are receiving such inferior training.

I agree this is terrible technique and painful to watch! She has no business being away from the barre at this point. Hopefully she has progressed since this video. Coming from a ballet teacher, he should know better. I assume this was during quarantine given the date of publish and maybe she's the only one who could come in, but it should not have been center work video for her level!

i think you're wrong she is clearly a beginner who has enough technique from doing barre work to do centre work. yes she's not 100% perfect but that is because she's a beginner! you also have to consider the fact that she might be nervous to go on camera, she might not have naturally high arches, the floor might be slippery, etc. i don't personally think this is public ridicule or inferior training, and if i was her parent i would be proud of her for giving it a go ESPECIALLY on camera. this is not dangerous to her at all. she doesn't look like she's going to break an ankle anytime soon, she's just a little wobbly.

This video is pointe center class! Not a beginner ballet barre or center... People who click this video already knows what is right or wrong. These poeple are just offering extra exercises for pointe center students and it is useful. She doesn't have to be perfect, she is there just as a basic example and make video a little more easy to follow. She is not teacher nor she has to be the perfect student.

No is good at point right away. At some point you have to move to center and struggle with it for a while
