I like that he added his own special touches and ignored some of the more obvious things that Christie wrote. He certainly created his own version of the character of Poirot. He's not really like the books, but he is so wonderful to watch!

I like the fact that Poirot never gives up on a case. In every episode I enjoy the dynamics between himself, Captain Hastings and Miss Lemon and I love that he's organised and obsessed with being clean and tidy because you don't often see that nowadays.

So, "running out" of Poirot is a recent event. I'm now watching "The Father Brown Mysteries." It is NOT a good replacement. It's charming enough, but it's like going from hearing J.S. Bach on a pipe organ to hearing J.S. Bach being whistled by someone. The twenty-five years Suchet spent portraying Poirot is as close as an actor on television has ever come to creating a work of Art. Have a safe and interesting year - best wishes from Vermont. 🐧

I used to watch Poirot growing up in the 90s on Iranian state TV (oddly enough). His dark mustache, thick eyebrows and kind demeanor always made me think of him as an uncle I never had. :)

Poirot, right in his world: a righteous man who listens and hears you. Excelimo! In one of my favorite scenes he gets arrested and someone shouts, "Call the French Embassy!" And Poirot stops fussing and corrects the one who said it, "The Belgian Embassy!" 🤭😊

He is amazing! How can he distinguish accents like that? I've been living in France for the second part of my life, and I'm incapable of distinguishing the accents of different parts of France or of french speaking belgians and swiss. The only accents I can distinguish (becase they are very strong) are the southern accent and the Quebec's accent.
