The first time I heard this song, it made me cry because my grandfather was a Vietnamese vet, he died long before I was born.

David Hays hey sorry for your loss but great news you will see him again and you were with him long before flesh ever came about.its a shame it not taught and it’s so clear in The Word Of God.Ive had 2 brothers leave this flesh and boy was it hard but I knew I will just be away from them for such a short while(flesh so very temporary) and I’m happy for them and they were happy to be done with this flesh.God loves us so much and he isn’t out to zap us he is out to get Satan and to do away with evil and the flesh is his way of doing that.My brother he is still living,we would listen to this song everyday while caring for my terminally ill parents which passed away a couple of months ago.This is the first song I listen to every morning.Hey we’ll be ok and God will make sure of that so be happy for him and do the best you can do in this flesh do unto others as you have them do to you.hey I hate religion but I love to Study The Bible and have deeply for 27 years I don’t like most corner houses they put you into their bondage that has nothing to do with The Lord.Hey the song tells ya listen to words closely and in all songs.Hey I’m an entertainer and lead vocalist and overall musician and songwriter and let me tell ya lyrics come quick but putting that song together is the work.Dude I Pray your ok and comfort for your Family In The Name Of Jesus😇🙏

I was in the United States military. I got a phone call so I got called to the quarter deck. I picked up the phone and it was my dad telling me that my grandmother passed. I hung up, went back down to the berthing area and sat on my bunk and started crying as this song was coming through somebody's speakers. I sat and cried and listened and my best friend sat next to me and gave me a hug. I was on a plane the next day flying home for her funeral. That was 30 years ago and to this day I still think of her when I hear the song.

Somehow Poison were never quite THE band. It was always Motley or GnR but you can't take their music away from them. Even if they never had the same recognition, they played with the same passion, the same feeling. Same but different. A great back-catalogue (Flesh & Blood is an outstanding album), a great live show and I've got a really happy memory of a great band...

I rank Poison above Crue, and neck & neck with GnR. I've always loved their material. Especially Native Tongue.

And just think, CC almost played for GnR and Slash almost played for Poison. I wonder what the outcome would have been if they did play for the other bands. Some people had issues with glam rock, I agree, Poison are frickin awesome and Flesh and Blood a killer album, one of my faves for sure :)..

Depends on the person. I have a couple friends who absolutely love. Motley Crue and the scorpions, Cinderella, bon Jovi and skid row. I personally like poison over all of them. They like poison too, but they have their opinions on who they think is the best. Nationally. I think poison did pretty well, mostly because of their lead singer and they got a bunch of publicity. Motley Crue was definitely bigger just because of Tommy Lee and Vince. Neil. It depends on the person but I get what you're saying. I personally hate how people hate on the '80s hair bands. They don't even give them a chance and they produced some really really good music. Who cares what they look like, their music was insane

Such a shame that they forgot the meaning of this song. He glorifies the troops in Iraq as if they were somehow fighting for freedom, however from the lyrics I understand this to be an anti war song. In fact it's probably one of the best anti war songs ever written. Disgusting how they turned out to be hypocrists
@Gambit220033 жыл бұрын
Seriously!? It's not glorifying war. He dedicates it to them to uplift their Spirit in a dark time and place for them. If you were around in the early 80's you'd know that the vets who were returning home from the Vietnam War were treated like shit and forgotten about. They're using the song as a way of making sure that doesn't end up happening again.
