As much as I know bon jovi has throat issues and is getting older as we all are but his voice is smokey velvet and David Brian backed vocals.is top tier ..... richie,s voice is amazing have cried and laughed to his voice and this song reminds me of my daughter who I don't as much as I want to this is perfection personified.... 😢
Richie sings like it's the last time he'll ever sing again - every time.

I never get tired of this video. Puts a lump in my throat every time. I have always liked Richie much much better than JBJ. Interesting note about his guitar. It's a Matthias Jabs Gold Mastercaster that Richie bought from M.J. back in 2008 at his Munich, Germany store. MJ Guitars. The two have a friendship that dates back way back when both Bon Jovi and Scorpions toured together. When M.J. started designing his own label of guitars, many rock stars would visit him and buy from him. The world of rock and roll is such a small one. BTW: Richie has new music out and a tour coming up. So I'm glad he hasn't stopped for his fans.

Bon jovi have and will always be my absolute favourite group of all time. I have all the albums and all the memories from the start to now. And I will be 60 in July. I still love rock music, and I always will. And I don't care what anyone says about me being too old. Life is for living and that's what I hope to do.My one regret is that I have never seen them live yet. Richie you rocked this out man. Epic performance. And that guitar solo towards the end WOW ,We miss you. Come back.
@MeemsKaso7 ай бұрын
Oh my dearest Carol...I just turned 60 myself. My heart broke reading your note. If I had a teleport machine, I would send you back into the 90's to see Bon Jovi in concert. It is with a heavy heart that I tell you I've lost count on the amount of times I saw them live. The first time I saw them was September 9, 1989 at Cal Expo in Sacramento, California. At that time, I was coming to terms with the departure of Steve Perry from Journey. Through HS & College, Journey was my band. Without Steve, Journey was dead to me. As a new mom, my cousin took me to see Bon Jovi. Oh WOW, were they spectacular. Beyond words. From there forward, I lived & breathed BJ. BUT not Jon...Richie! Always Richie, since 1989. I attended concerts up & down California. Upon Richie's release of Stranger in this Town, his tour dates were announced and I purchased tickets to see him at the Warfield in San Francisco, November 11, 1991. Billy Falcon opened for him. Just wow! Being able to see him play & sing...JUST HIM was magical. I would argue that it was Richie's voice that made BJ. Not Jon. When I saw Richie, alone, my argument was correct. I did not want that night to end. His voice is so full, & rich. He is truly an old soul. His voice & lyrics tell you so. How I wish I could have known you back then. I would have taken you with me. Happy Birthday! ps...I continue to attend concerts. There is no age limit on music. In a few weeks I'm seeing Lacey Sturm of Flyleaf twice. Dallas & Waco. Go to any concert you want mama! Live! Music allows our souls to breathe!

Richie sang this song most of the time. John wasn‘t on stage and came to the end. In Europe we‘d stop singing ohhhh ohhh if they didn’t quit.

GawdDAMN he sounds good!!!!!!!!!!! He truly stole the show. He’s as good a front man as Jon-and more musically talented. He could have carried this band with absolutely no problem had Jon not been around.

This is by far the best version of this song. Beautiful and raw, Richie is so emotional on this one. I'm crying listening to this.

Does he still sound like this in 2024? He doesn't sound so great in the interviews I've watched.

Wow. A Spectacular rendition. That vocal had such depth and tonal nuances and full of power...but then...there is a guitar player...who is masterfully articulating the entire sonic landscape like hieronymous bosch lent his paintbrush to Hendrix after writing little wing...

My favorite part of soooo many of BJ songs is when I hear Richie voice doing back up vocals. His voice gives me chills. To hear him doing this is amazing. It's almost like a completely different song. Country feel to it. Absolutely love it !!!! Miss him.

The band is a band and will forever be bon Jovi. The bottom line is every one of them is talented all the backup players David is amazing Tico is amazing Jon bon Jovi is amazing. To pull a band together with a man named David x and still have the unbelievable following speaks volumes and they all sing volumes. As I said before Richie chose to lose the band never showed up never called Miss 88 shows and could have ruined hundreds of Korea's of all the Roadies so as much as I love him and I miss seeing him he did this to the band the band did not do this to him. So let's get real here Richie sambora split without any explanation

I love how he walks up & tips his hat. Just before he starts the crowd goes wild, they love to hear him sing. I think TICO needs to have some credit, he has played those drums for years & I have never seen him mentioned. He plays his ...... off. Here's to you "TICO", awesome job.

Danke

I saw Ritchie on his solo tour in what was probably 1998. Outstanding. This is another example of his enormous talent.
