I just spent $45,500 on implants!!! I’ve inherited bad teeth, and if I can pay off a car, I can pay off my teeth for my future health! This video came just in time to remind me I’m doing the right thing! My surgery is June 12th! Everyone wish me luck! Xoxos to all! If you’re younger and wiser than me (I’m 50) FLOSS!!!

I have just had this done on my top teeth. It is not as bad as expected - I woke up with temporaries (which look great) and have an intensive cleaning regime. The dentist checked me a week later and I am due to back soon for a 2 month check. This cost £12,000 in the UK. I know it would be cheaper abroad but I wanted a dentist nearby.

I'd like to propose a story that deeply touched me and deserves the attention only you can give. It's about Sanda Dia, a young Belgian student who tragically lost his life during a hazing ritual at the Reuzegom student association in 2018. What began as a tradition among students quickly turned into a horrific example of abuse and neglect. Sanda Dia became a victim of humiliating practices that ultimately led to his death. What makes this story so shocking is not only the violent nature of the hazing but also the lack of accountability and transparency in its aftermath. There are allegations of cover-ups and influential individuals trying to conceal the truth. It is crucial that we do not forget the injustice done to Sanda Dia and continue to seek justice.

The chewing sticks is called miswak. They taste a little like sweet like artificial sweetener. You can buy them online. My dad's father was from Morroco where its commonly used, or maybe not as much now, so he would occasionally chew on it in between meals. Edit: Actually, you might be able to find them in natural focused stores and flea market shops.

Amalgam fillings (the silver ones) that they put in your mouth still have some mercury in them & are still approved by the American Dental Association. There is a dentist in Connecticut that wrote an entire book on this and had a gag order put on him by the ADA. This is still real. If nothing is wrong with the filling or tooth, it’s usually better to just leave the amalgam. You get WAY more mercury exposure during the removal process then you would just keeping it. And every time a filling had to be redone more and more tooth structure needs to be removed.

So I’m saying this as somebody who has multiple tattoos, I genuinely wonder if getting tattoos causes auto immune issues or some other health issues down the road. I know so many tattoo artists that are covered or just people that have a ton of them and they all seem to have Major health issues. And I have developed more strange health issues after my last major piece as well. So you just have to wonder, is injecting ink under our skin really without any side effects? And don’t even get me started on people who have an actual allergy to the ink, even just certain colors. After seeing what that can do, I’m honestly a little terrified at the thought of getting another one ever again.

Amalgam fillings are still dangerous. My mom was diagnosed with adult onset epilepsy. Test after test showed no apparent cause. Apparently this has happened to other people and it’s thought that the amalgam fillings were the cause. She got hers back in the 60s and composite wasn’t an option. But the problem with having them removed is you have to find a dentist that can safely do it because when the filling is removed, vapors from the mercury are released into the air.

The amount of mercury in amalgam is so miniscule that it virtually doesn't matter. Some people can have reactions to the various components in the alloy (silver, tin, molybdenum, etc., all of which are found in far higher concentrations than the trace amounts of mercury), which is why it's so important to disclose any medical conditions to your dentist. You get exposed to more mercury everyday from fish or fruits. But yes, the problem isn't amalgam being put into the mouth but being removed/replaced. The released dust particulates can be absorbed into your tissue or swallowed and some people can be affected by that. It's no reason to fear amalgams, especially since no one knows what composite fillings do to the body long-term.

To add a bit of important information. There’s two types of fluoride. Stannous and Sodium fluoride. Stannous fluoride which is usually advertised as antigingivitis/ gum healthy is far superior than sodium fluoride. Stannous fluoride protects your teeth 🦷 and is anti bacterial and prevents you from getting periodontal disease. Sodium fluoride on the other hand only protects you from cavities and it’s the one typically found in toothpastes here in the US.

Hi, dental assistant who is currently in school to become a hygienist. I'm gonna guess they thought there was a tooth worm because when exposed (and removed like they do in a root canal) the pulp of the tooth really does look like a worm. Just a guess though.

I believe it was mostly because of cavities being little holes that resemble something like a piece of fruit that has been eaten by worms. The process of developing a cavity wasn’t understood, so it would make sense so believe a worm bit and crawled into your teeth. As you said, I’m sure the pulp looking quite wormy contributed to the worm theory as well!! 🪱
@emilysue242
@emilysue242 Жыл бұрын
@MilknHoney Honey well yeah of course, but I'm bringing up the pulp's appearance specifically because how else would it have been a worm of all things in multiple places? Nobody thought they were termites, nobody called them ants (not commonly, anyways), both of which are also known for digging holes and burrowing. I was just speculating on why the idea of tooth worms of all things was so universal. Having literally held the pulp of a tooth in my hand after its removal during a root canal, I can see why people thought it was a worm of all things. Lol.
