Ok, I just saw this in a playthrough I've been watching. In Mountaintops of the Giants there is a physik tear that heals you when you take nonphysical damage, and that might nullify the damage of Elden stars, maybe not the poise.

I know it would add an inordinate amount of time to the run for not a lot of real payoff, but- if you technically wanted maximum accuracy, wouldn't farming the Fire Prelates in the Mountaintops for their whips be more accurate in terms of cosplay? They actually resemble thorned plants as opposed to interlocking metal, and can still be infused with Ashes of War and Poison affinities and such. Also- a funny idea for a build that I don't know is actually viable but want to think might be, but, do you think a Superman build might work? I'm imagining something initially Strength-based, when only fisticuffs are available in the form of Fist weapons, then respeccing to Faith-based with a bit of Arcane splashed in, once things like laser vision (Frenzied Burst) and icy breath (Borealis's Mist) are available. Bestial Incantations also exist for just hitting people in the face with rocks. Matches the flavor of super strength mefigures

I did a thorns only run. you can grab shield of the guilty from the ground, run up the the plateau, and grab shield crash... you can stunlock varre with that combination for the bouquet.

The Water Fowl Dance is terrifying until you get Bloodhound Step and learn the timing. Still scary if you miss, but it is possible to consistently dodge it. And you were right about getting aggressive with Malenia. It's how I managed to eventually solo her.

I used to hate bloodhound step. It’s all what people ran in pvp so they could run away. So happy they basically made it into quick step because that sh!t used to be so funny watching an invader run away into the sunset. Dude stayed in my lobby for hours while I fought area bosses. He feared the starter club. As did melania. Never ended up finding him. After actual hours of playing I went outside to run some errands. Disguised myself and left my console on. When I came back he was gone. Dude thought he’d afk farm me, little does he know my console literally doesn’t turn off anymore. It would’ve taken a power outage to win that one.

you dont really need bloodhound or quick step. she uses waterfoul when her hp is around half so just expect her to use that and then run away from the first barrage. the 2nd and 3rd barrage are easy to dodge. you have to burst her coz random waterfoul might still happen and those unexpected ones are the deadliest

@@zjpdarkblaze Oh sweetie, she's used it a hell of a lot faster than that for me. I blitzed a fifth of her health off in the beginning of one attempt, and she almost immediately used it. I jokingly told my friends that I "scared her".

@@tabletopnephilim4633 yes she does use waterfoul if not in half hp if u burst her too fast ... but the half hp cue gives u a massive advantage of dodging her waterfoul

@@zjpdarkblaze It helps with one instance of waterfowl, but if she uses it at any other point, odds are you're right on top of her and you're not gonna get away in time. It's better to learn the timing and dodge through it, which Bloodhound Step helps with.

I've been watching some of these videos and in a lot of them I keep hearing "this spell scales with X stat" and that's just not correct? Spells REQUIRE certain stats but scaling is solely governed by your spell tool. So, for the aberrant sorceries, for example, even though they list Faith as a requirement, you can only go minimum req and instead, invest in whatever staff you choose benefits from. The one caveat detail is that I'm pretty sure some of the status inflicting spells DO take arcane scaling of your spell tool into consideration. This IS the case with the Aberrant Sorceries so, arguably, the best staff to cast them with is the Albinauric staff since it will increase their bleed buildup. Though you could off hand the staff of the guilty for the extra damage, etc...etc...
