Five quick questions: 1] how long is the cable between the solar panel and the camera? 1A] can that length be increased if needed? 2] One 60 second recording has just ended, how many seconds before the camera starts recording again to hopefully still see who is breaking in? 3] Can you set it only to come on with bright white lights when it sees a human? 4] How easy is it to get the videos onto a windows computer? Good review of camera.......would still like to see how it does at night for both color night vision with no lights but the camera; and then with some supplemental lights. Some of us use these cameras in our back yard. Do you think it will charge well in TEXAS! Thanks for you time.

Hey @jamesblois4891, you can definitely extend the cable if needed by buying a USB C extender off Amazon. I believe it's around 9 ft long though. I'll have to ask AOSU support if there's a cooldown time built in between recordings. Getting videos to a computer is easy because you can download video clips to your phone, then from there, you can email them to yourself, upload them to your Google drive or other cloud storage, then access it on your computer. I think the lights come on with any movement, even if you only set Human only in Motion Detection, but I can ask AOSU support about it too and get back to you. It should definitely charge well in Texas because I'm in Canada and it did pretty decent even in colder weather. Where I had it placed, we always have street lights on so it's hard to say how it'll perform in a mostly dark environment. Got the rest of the answers from AOSU support, so the cooldown time between recordings in 20 seconds. You can also select human detection in AI care to try and limit when the lights will activate. The solar panel cable is 3 meters / 9.8 ft.

this audio from them for the voice alarm sounds a little bit better, but they still kept that dorky white guy who doesn’t sound threatening at all. He sounds like the least intimidating person ever trying to be scary because he’s frightened

lol kinda true about the voice actor. They need to hire Idris Elba or something.

Great video, question: Can the privacy zone be set so I don't track my neighbors in the backyard across the fence???
@DemCrumblies7 ай бұрын
I don't remember seeing any privacy zone settings unfortunately. One option could be to try and angle the camera down more to try and cut of the view at the fence height.

Does anyone know if this will work well in very cold weather, as I am in Ontario Canada, and it gets a lot colder than -10C I can tell you! edit: sorry just saw the very end where you say you're in Canada haha and show the snow. So I'm wondering now how you get the snow/ice off the solar panels? Mine would be placed high and I won't be climbing ladders! I'm thinking of buying it as it looks pretty good, but no good if it'll quit when we're in a cold snap, thank you for any info. Also is it compatible with an iPad as well as phone?

Hey @LuvBritTV, for the most part, I think the angle I had my solar panel sloped, snow and ice wouldn't really stick to it for long. Now if we have another freezing rain day like we had 5 or 6 years back where trees were hanging down almost to the ground, then I think I'd have to get on a ladder to try and clear that out, but last Winter was pretty mild overall so if there was any amount of snow on the solar panel, it would easily melt away, so I'd say to try and angulate it a bit more steep.

@@DemCrumblies Thank you I’ll try that then! As to the temps listed at -10? I guess you haven’t had yours long enough, but have you any thoughts on if it’ll hold up to colder than that? Are there similar cameras that for sure withstand extreme cold? Yeah last year was a real nice anomaly!
@DemCrumblies3 ай бұрын
@@LuvBritTV Yea I'm also in Ontario, GTA area. I think it should hold up because the build quality is pretty on par with most other camera systems that I review. The only caution I would have is if there is going to be freezing rain, maybe disable the automatic pan and tilt just so the motor doesn't over exert itself trying to break from any freezing rain or ice. It is rated for more than -10ºC based on the specs like most cameras I've seen.
@LuvBritTV3 ай бұрын
@@DemCrumblies Me too, bit east of GTA, yes thank you I appreciate the advice on disabling the auto pan, good idea! You read out the specs though on the video? Is there a deeper specs somewhere? Are they trying to be conservative, but why bother? Sorry for all the questions but it IS good for the channel algorithm haha!😉
@DemCrumblies3 ай бұрын
@@LuvBritTV No worries, the specs on the Amazon listing page shows -20ºC, but I see in my video I had put -10ºC so now I'm actually not sure which spec is correct, but I'd lean towards -10º since I see one of their newer models also shows -10ºC too. For some reason I thought it was a bit higher like around -30ºC, that's my bad. I also looked at a Reolink solar model I reviewed recently which has no pan and tilt and it also shows -10ºC. The eufy Solocam S340 is rated for -20ºC though, which I also reviewed.

How do you remove it from the base once it snaps into place?
@DemCrumblies6 ай бұрын
You just have to yank it out, so you'll want to install this high enough that people can't just pull it out from the base without a ladder.

How do you delete recordings on AOSU?
@DemCrumblies22 күн бұрын
When you go to the events screen that has all the recordings, you can long press on a video clip and you will see the option to select it and tap the delete icon. Let me know how it goes.

Nope, unfortunately not, but I linked the one I bought in the video description.

Downside to these cameras are they aren’t 24/7 recording… only record for max 60 seconds per intrusion
@DemCrumblies4 күн бұрын
Yep most solar cameras will not provide 24/7 recording since they need to balance battery life and performance, but you can check out their wired camera here, which will do 24/7 recordings: kzbin.info/www/bejne/b5qwqXakpZ6IoZY
