Whenever I use the dissolve, the material under just becomes solid white as if it was untextured instead of being invisible.

Set the Alpha of the dissolved color to 0

yo, is there a way i can make it fade from the start and end point only one time? like fading from transparency to full opacity, and then staying opaque until the gesture is turned off

The dissolve doesn't work it's a solid white, even though I set alpha to 0 on the colour

make sure you are using a transparent shader

If you're still having the issue (which I doubt you are), then you can try to set the Rendering as Cutout. At least, it worked for me

So my animation using the shader works perfectly in unity, with the shaders locked for optimization leaving only dissolve alpha changeable, but in-game, my body's texture had random jitters and no dissolve happens.

with any animation in unity, don't lock in the shader, let it do it itself when you go to upload it

if the dissolve had a timer for the dissolve speed and timer for between disolves would be a great idea just sayng

Shaders can't hold state like that. Just use an animation if you want to time it.

when i make a animation with poyomi it gets locked out and the animation wont work in game

Check out the locking video. But in short you can right click properties and set them to animated so they don't get locked

Moving the dissolve alpha slider around only makes it transition to another color instead of hiding the mesh :(
