This song is a mixture of three songs if you listen closely throughout the song the Johto Champion theme, Champion Diantha's theme and the johto Gym leader theme just have a small look throughout the song

@Briman0094 X and Y took references from previous generations, i wouldnt be suprised if game freak used some of the same melody's in their songs and the part where Diantha's theme shows up in the song happened in both the classic version of the johto champ theme and the remake so even though Diantha didnt exist before this remix was made the elements for Diantha's theme did

The 3 songs were actually Johto Champion/Red's theme, Johto Trainer Battle Theme, then G/S/C Rival theme (Silver). Go back and listen again, you'll see. I think what we CAN say is that Diantha's theme took inspiration from the Johto Trainer Battle theme among other songs.

His compositions are truly beautiful. Skotein has created really wonderful and well orchestrated pieces. But I am done now with Pokémon. The reason why I did only these 2 Pokémon songs and not the entire game's soundtrack is because I feel that me and Skotein's vision on the battle themes are a bit different, where I wanted it to sound more serious and epic while he went for a more playful and childish tone.

I think I only battled Red a handful of times. 2 or 3 times when I got my hands on a Crystal cartridge when I was like 8 or 9. Then I got myself straight and downloaded an emulator maybe 2 years ago on my phone and it called me back. I didn't remember the name of him, but I remembered it was in that generation. So when I got to him, and heard the music, I was literally like oh shit. Memories flooded back. So since I last beat him I've listened to his theme in different variations quite a bit.
