September 2nd 2022 and it worked !! Used my mobile hotspot and turned off the password in my phone settings , making my hotspot open and I entered the primary dns and I got a shiny Raikou in my copy of pokemon Heartgold. !!!! Thanks !! You my friend have earned a sub ! 😎🙌

Anyone being confused about tests not going through, set up the connection within the 3ds. Then boot up the game and edit the wifi connections dns settings to the above asked. I used a Hotspot on my android (I've used an older one before and worked just as well) this is for gen 4(Diamond and Pearl)

From att, but I believe you can buy them off eBay, it’s just a matter of getting your hotspot settings right as well, which you have to configure on your phone

I mean mines takes the wifi but when I go to mistery gift , it tells me that “Unable to connect to Nintendo Wifi Connection”

Mine connects and shows green bars and begins searching, but then comes up with 20100 error. Guess I'm just one of the unlucky ones judging by the article in the description.

So, from what I've read, no, Nintendo wont. Because these are sill legitimate Pokémon, you didnt hack them in the game, you simply exploited a mystery gift which is an official Nintendo release. I will be doing a video next year of moving my Gen IV Pokémon to Brilliant Diamond once it has Home support!

POKEMON LIST: Celebi, Jirachi, Mew, Crobat, Pikachu, shiny Eevee, shiny Raikou, shiny Suicine, shiny Entei. OTHERS LIST: Amity Meadows, Rally, Sightseeing, Yellow forest, Winner's path (all pokewalker routes) and Enigma stone + Lock capsule.

Yes because the actual pokemon are from the legit events reguardless of the date it says that you received them. You can manually change the years in your DS/3DS all the way up to 2099 or something.

Use your mobile hotspot , or any kind of hotspot you're using and make sure that the hotspot is open , no password . I did that on my phone and it worked. Good luck .

dont know if im late, but i did it using my own cellphone (mine's an android, i heard that it doesnt work with apple devices tho..) as an hotspot, i just made sure to remove any security and made it open.. dont think it will work with ur laptop bc you have to be able to acess the internet without any wi-fi..

Trying this just now on a new 3DSXL and new 2DSXL for Gen 5 games, and using both sets of DNS, and keep getting told "There were no gifts to be found". No error code is displayed. I guess this exploit has run its course. Bummer

It still works for me, but the set up process is different when you use a 3DS. You have to go to the 3DS settings in the system itself and not through the game settings. You don’t touch the DS wifi connection in the 3DS. Do the same set up in the 3DS internet settings instead.

@@stormwalker8495 Just used it last night. It works just fine in black, white. Black 2, white 2, soul silver, and heart gold. It's almost never going to "run its course" thats not how it works. The DNS has no reason to stop working. Nintendo did not set up this DNS, its custom. There are also multiple DNS codes that work.

So I did this on black 2, HG and Platinum. But in platinum i didn’t get all the Pokémon, I got like Arceus and Regigigas and others. But I tried for like 2 Hours and didn’t get Deoxis, Manaphy and some others. Why is that? I just got duplicates after I got like 2/3 of the Pokémon I should get in platinum. Does somebody have a problem like that or what can I do to get the rest of the Pokémon?

I have the same problem I managed to get most of them jirachi, regigigas, arceus, crobat, shiny johto trio, ash’s pikachu, and items to unlock story to get shaymin and darkrai. But not any others like manaphy, deoxys, lucario, dragonite, ect. That’s why I’ve been on the hunt to try and find answers but nothing so far

If you've ever gone and hacked in event key items don't claim the mystery gift because it crashes your game if you have more than 1

That’s a good point that I never thought of, do you know if it bricks your game entirely, or are you able to power off and back on and the duplicate is gone?

Honestly, I wouldn’t be sure, they’re kind of set up a little differently, but if they’re done well then they should have all the same data; essentially, I would say yes, but I couldn’t be certain, every use case would be different.

As someone mentioned, buy reproduction carts. Not scanned as fake pokemon, and these days repros look identical and are sold as the real thing often. This is coming from someone who was lucky enough to have all these games for ages.
