The first time I went to Cinnabar in SoulSilver, I turned around to check on my Typhlosion, Biff. It said, "Biff is pushing a rock around quietly" or something. I checked him again, and it said that he had found a yellow flower. It was like he found life underneath all of the ashes. Hit me right in the feels, bro. I cried a bit.

While giving him a proper Gym is appreciated (as is every improvement HGSS made... _looking at you, level curve_ ), I believe the Gen II presentation of Blaine felt more emotional. Everyone else has moved away and tried to rebuild their lives elsewhere, but Blaine was left behind, his very identity tied to a town that no longer exists. Finding him alone in that small room really hit different and makes part of me wish he had been tucked away in a corner at the bottom of the Seafoam Islands in the remakes, surrounded by the antithesis of his type specialty.

Here's the explanation A volcano erupts in Cinnabar Island, sounds simple right? No. If you think about it, guiding the music as it only plays one instrument represents how lonely and sad was after the eruption. And when you think about the people, you think those people that lived there and evacuated untill aftermath we're probably sad. And that the pokemon by your side rolls a rock around also represents saddness, if you think of the victreebell's face when i does it, you think it's sad. The music also represents how devestating the eruption was. When you see all the people evacuating and your in panic, your mother grabs you and lifts you and goes to a safe place. When you truly imagine it.

This was one of the sadder things I saw in Soul Silver. I remember being really excited to see what they did with the pokemon mansion and then I found this. Also, seeing how Blain is trying to keep his gym alive by putting it in the seafoam caves drove it home for me. I know he was trying to against all odds to create a good gym experience, but after seeing the quiz game and number of trainers in pokemon Red, it saddened me to see how far he had fallen. If they ever do another remake and decided to keep this, I hope the give Blaine an actual gym.

The timeline is like this: Fr/Lg & Emerald - happen around the same time. 3 Years Later Platinum & Hg/Ss - happen around the same time. ??? Years later B/W 2 Years later B/W 2. So it makes sense :)
