For the reasons you explained, I agree that a water nuzlocke would be nice, but the Good Rod being only accessible after the mid game so that it's just Squirtle etc and Magikarp etc is off setting.

Well that makes the hardest part of the run early game! Which I think is nice because white-ing out and restarting is less punishing early game. I find if I have to restart at say gym 7 I often don’t really bother

I used a ruler to measure on my phone screen. Venusaur’s health after the icy wind went down 5.5 mm at 55 damage. It had 11 mm (110 damage range) left which would mean the ice beam would have had to crit or more likely freeze for it to be worth it. . two fish did not go down in vain.

There are very few ghost types in gen 3, and there aren’t any encounters for that monotype challenge until like after Norman. Psychic seems more realistic because you get ralts and abra early.

Great video as always. Next time you play FR / LG, I'd suggest Fighting type only. You only get 3 of them and it will be very difficult, requiring strategizing from Misty. I've tried it myself and failed there, and even when I passed, I found myself overleveled before facing Surge, so you'd have to play around that as well.
