Heads up about the parrot meme; the issue Minecraft caused was that they used chocolate chip cookies as the item fed to them to make them breed, but chocolate is outright poisonous to parrots. This got pointed out to Mojang, and (partially for accuracy, mostly to avoid setting a bad example for the kids playing) they changed the item used for breeding parrots to seeds, as well as making it so that feeding parrots the cookies anyways would give them a lethal stack of the Poisoned status.

Additional note: On Bedrock, cookies do give parrots Lethal Poison, but on Java they actually INSTANTLY KILL THEM. Bit overkill tbh, Java Edition dev team

Fun fact: It wasn't just one bad hypno that took some kid. Its Moon dex entry mentions how it carries off anyone who has good dreams. I believe the Ultra Sun dex entry means it's not as much of a threat in /Alola/ because komala are around and perpetually sleeping, and thus make for better targets than humans who it would have to expend energy to make sleep.

8:19 Lockstin explained this pretty well a few times but the TDLR is that 1) Alolan Exegguter resembles Draconis Plants and 2) In Hawaii mythology there are these dragon/lizard/gecko creatures called Mo’o (hence the Kommo-O’s name, tho aside from that they aren’t that similar. The story with the Minecraft parrots is when they were originally added they were tamed by feeding them cookies but the developers learned that chocolate is deadly to birds so to avoid anyone feeding their real birds chocolate chip cookies they changed the taming item to seeds

Eelektross was unironically my favourite Pokemon from Gen 5. I was fascinated by 'no-weakness' Pokemon like Sableye and Spiritomb, so a non Ghost/Dark no-weakness Pokemon was super-interesting. Technically, the Eelektross line is the only remaining no-weakness Pokemon. The only way to hit them super-effectively is to eliminate their Ability or to hit them with Thousand Arrows.

A.Exeggutor being Dragon type is in no way obvious, but if you know it is pretty cool. In Hawaii there is a mythological creature called the Mo'o (pronounced Moe-Oh) and they are magical shapeshifting lizard spirits. And in pokemon, anything magic reptile is dragon type. XD But the reason Exeggutor in particular is dragon type, is because one of the Mo'o's favorite disguises is a palm tree. Additional fact, Salandit and Salazale are also based on the Mo'o since another disguise of the mo'o is a beautiful woman who bewitches men with her pheromones. Also, despite having Mo'o in their name, the Kammo'o line isn't actually based on the Mo'o.

Considering X and Y are supposedly named after the X and Y axis of a graph/3D, I feel their remakes will be ZX and ZY, adding the Z-axis and also finally giving us Pokemon Z in SOME form. Also, about Celebi turning into a fairy-type, I already brought this up with Victini in the type-combination video, but I'm pretty sure the reason they didn't change the type of any mythical Pokemon is because they limited it to Pokemon that could be caught within X and Y, since players would most likely want to use these Pokemon that received such a major change. But that was obviously still at a time when they were still being very conservative with mythical Pokemon and keeping them for Event-only, ORAS was the first time we got a mythical that was catchable without DLC, and it obviously fit into the story of the Delta-Episode. Pretty sure Gen 7 didn't have that and the next time was only in SwShs DLC.

Exeggutor is based off of native Hawaiian legends involved a type of mythic dragon of Hawaii. Basically, this dragon has the power to shapeshift, and one of it's favorite forms to take is that of trees so it can spy on people.

This team was made with my character, hawk Avery, going from a grunt to a Admin: Bagon (Final evo Salamence nicknamed Icarus), halucha (Nicknamed Mysterio), Oricorio Sensu style (Nicknamed Geisha) Charmander (Finale evo Charizard nicknamed Blair) Archen (Finale Evo Archeops nicknamed Roc) Zubat (Finale Evo Crobat nicknamed Yuma) Way I thought about it was basically my guy starts as a Grunt and makes his way up the ranks to become a admin styled after pilots/the air force.

Im going to keep this brief because I don't really know how much longer I can go in this weird state of just sitting here thinking about what it was like to be a kid and not have the anxieties that I do today. I just wanted to say, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for making videos. You have no idea how much I watched your videos growing up. Especially that Pokémon rap battle between Red and Ash, and your Pokémon Talk series. Even when moving in-between homes and we had no Wi-Fi. I'd be allowed like 1 hour of mobile data a week since we didn't have much on our plan. And I'd always wait for you to post a video. Seeing a new Pokémon Talk video was the highlight of my day and always got me excited and in a good mood. Now I'm 18, I'm about to finish highschool, and I'm going to have to go make something of myself. It's scary, but I know that I can't just run. Either way, sometimes (like right now), I really wish I could go back and spend just one more day as a kid watching videos from you, Dobbs, Aura Guardian, etc. Thank you for making 12 year old me so happy.

8:04 Okay here we go Applin is based on the common depiction of a worm inside of an apple. It may also be a pun on the term wyrm, a serpentine dragon, which sounds similar to 'worm'. It is also based on the Lindwurm, a green, serpentine dragon that lives in moutains. Alolan Exeggutor is based on the Dracaena Palm trees, which are often called "Dragon Trees." Turtonator is based on the Mata Mata Turtle, an unusual turtle with a notably spiky shell and monstrous-looking head. and finally Dragalge is based on the Common Sea Dragon.

Celebi is an onion fairy Grass/Fairy feels appropriate. Melloetta is a pop star thing? Give her the Normal/Fairy Type AND the Fighting/Fairy Type (for her Aria AND Pirouette Formes) Blissey is a healer, the whole line could be Fairy-Type, but then Pokémon is just solidifying Fairy as the "Girly" and "Pink" Type. Normal/Fairy for Blissey, the rest of the line stays Pure Normal-Type. Bellossom doesn't need another Type. But if it got one, Fairy could work. Especially if Meganium got Grass/Psychic and it would shut up the idiots.

An explanation about the parrot meme. Originally you could feed parrots cookies, but after the community pointed out that cookies are made with cocoa beans they changed the feature to instantly poison and kill the parrot when feeding it a cookie. They also added a splash text saying "don't feed parrots chocolate."

Hau in Sun/Moon was pretty bland, but in USUM his backstory is more fleshed out and he has a well-developed character arc. Not enough people who played USUM paid attention to Hau because they figured he would be the same as in the previous games, so they missed out on one of the best-written rivals in the series.

In terms of story, Ultra butchered the Aether family pretty hard, but Hau was a major improvement. Although I do have mixed feelings about him taking away Kukui as our first battle as champion.
