Pecharunt being at level 88 is so fitting for two reasons. In Japan, the number 8 represents good luck. That’s why most of Pecharunt’s stats are 88, and why the Loyal Three learn moves every 8 levels. Not to mention 8 is also the same shape as Pecharunt (and the Lousy 3)’s Toxic Chains. When you invite Penny and Geeta as special coaches, Geeta gives Penny a heart attack because Geeta thought Penny was there to analyze Blueberry Academy's BP system, doesn't say anything, and then says she's glad Penny is treasuring her friends. When Penny talks to Tyme, she is revealed to be her teacher's pet! And when Nemona and Arven talk to each other, Arven reveals he's challenging the Gyms! I love Pecharunt's battle music. This feels like a version of the Loyal Three theme that’s intended to focus more on the main melody rather than the background instruments. It’s genius because this Pokémon is the main cause of all the troubles in Kitakami, not one of its servants. The "Distorted Electronic Instruments" as an added figure to the main theme of the Loser Squad is a clear nod to the observation that we're dealing with the entity that created the immense toxic chains. The distorted sounds allude to its ability to pull anyone intoxicated like a string and make them do all the dirty business.

I think that Penny's dad is a friend of Peony. I did too notice that, but let's be honest they look Nothing Unlike and considering the fact that he already has a confirmed child that we meet at the Galar DLC And she said nothing about having a sister who is on a next regian, And Peony himself hasn't said anything about having two daughters which is odd considering how proud he is of his one daughter that we actually meet, and that was A perfect way to hint that I really don't think they are connected. I think that Penny's dad is a friend of Peony.

Penny was probably away at school during the crown tundra so he was focusing on the daughter that was still there. He didn't talk about his wife or brother either. She also says her dad calls her Pen-Pen and he's really annoying, that's 100% Peony right there. Then there's also the fact that her name in every language either comes from peony or literally translates to peony. It's been right there the whole time.

I'm so glad to see Arven, Nemona, and Penny get some more screentime after they were basically neglected for most of the DLC, especially now that we get to see them all interact in a more casual setting than before. Watching them bob their heads to the music while Carmine's dancing is hilarious! So the decoration was really just Pecharunt sleeping after Ogerpon defeated the Loyal Three, and now based off its backstory, it was probably found in the forest by the Peachy's store owner. And I love how while everyone in the town is doing the chicken dance and Kieran and us are battling Arven and Penny that the Nurse Joy in the background is still on her phone and so unbothered like "Yup, just a normal day in Kitakami"....such Squidward energy. As you saw, Nemona got a Kommo-o, and when you invite Nemona and Hassel to the league club room, she reveals to Hassel that she got that Kommo-o in Kitakami, so she caught that while she was possessed! Japanese peaches are grown in controlled conditions, covered with small paper bags while they are green to protect them and encourage them to grow pale and sweet. During the summer gift-giving season, chugen, special fruits like these become a prized gift to give to loved ones or important clients, referenced with the boxed Mythical Pecha Berry! Yamanashi, Okayama, and Fukushima Prefectures are Japan's largest peach producers, and Momotaro originates from Okayama! Although Kitakami is based off Iwate Prefecture.

I love how the posession is personalized for each special character. For Arven, he says “little buddy” and “tch” sometimes instead of Mochi and he gets embarrassed, Penny gets angry or worked up and says “Mochee” and even Movee I think which is a hint towards her love for eevee, and Nemona says “Mochi Match” and “Let’s…have…mochiful battle…” which is a hint toward her always saying, “Let’s have us a fruitful battle!”. I find this really cool.

So many people keep saying "Pokemon hasn't been good since *insert game here but most of the time Black and White or X and Y" but Pokemon Scarlet and Violet had a really good story and I liked the new pokemon.
