Claire's Kingdra is brutal, ESPECIALLY coming off of that level 20 hypechain of rocket grunts in the elongated midgame. There is no shame at all in wiping at that point, so I'd say that was a pretty damn good first Nuzlocke.
@gengarzilla1685
@gengarzilla1685 Жыл бұрын
She gives me better battles than Whitney, tbh. Whitney's "difficulty" largely comes from players still having first or middle stage mons against something with the base stat total expected of a fully evolved Pokémon. And without a double weakness. Honestly, if these two switched places then Clair would be even harder and Whitney would be a letdown.
@craigyeates1854
@craigyeates1854 Жыл бұрын

I'm saying that Clair would be an even harder third gym leader while Whitney would be a weak eighth gym leader. Level 19 Kingdra is yikes.
@LoudWaffle
@LoudWaffle 11 ай бұрын
@@gengarzilla1685 Yeah, I think Whitney's difficulty often comes from complete lack of preparation. Playing casually, people will start the battle against her completely unprepared, and with great stats for that point in the game, self-healing, and the very dangerous if unanswered Rollout, she can actually wipe teams which is very rare in casual runs, and unexpected that early into the game. But when you come prepared for her she's very easy, because the threat she brings is very one-note. Like a Geodude completely walls her.

I feel like this run embodies the concept of "Fortune favors the bold" Fyrus kept making some plays that in one way or another could definitely be counted as bold but just kept getting some fantastic luck and then when he started playing more cautious strategically with Claire, that's when he wiped I respect the boldness, twas a solid attempt. o7

I'm bad at remembering all the type advantages and disadvantages (so I'm thankful for the newer games saying what moves are effective or not) that I'd definitely need a sheet for all that on hand. I've attempted a nuzlocke before with Black 2.... it only lasted as long as it did because I spent a lot of time doing as much as I could in Pokéstar Studio before moving on... I lost to a random trainer before even going to fight Burgh lol

These two are just a perfect foil to each other. The best example is Jacob asking Fyrus if he wants to know what Bugsy has beforehand, Fyrus stating he'll just go for it in the most optimistic tone possible, and Jacob just looking at the camera in disbelief. We're les than 20 mins in and I have already lost a lung to laughter.

something to note; while nature's are important at times it's a common pitfall to over value them especially in regular games. Granted moments can come up where you miss a kill or take a bit more dmg but overall it doesn't change enough for how much people treat it. I've seen many people give up good pokémon that would've helped tremendously because of this.
@havoc697
@havoc697 9 ай бұрын
Huge agree. I think for standard gameplay you can largely ignore natures for the most part. If you're for super optimal pokemon then sure, but I've spent far too long watching my friend hunt for good nature pokemon over just playing the game. Especially when they aren't even going to like EV train or anything, like it's helpful sure but it's not the end of of world
