Tamashii, you forgot to mention probably the biggest change from the originals in these remakes which hit me really hard and strengthened my love for these games: WE FINALLY HAVE DAY AND NIGHT IN HOENN!!!!! 8D The first time I saw the twilight background during my battle and a stary sky when taking down Team Magma in Omega Ruby on top of Mt. Chimney I CHEERED! =) One minor issue though: Why does dusk and nightfall occur during the same times as in Kalos? Nightfall at 8pm? WTF?! XD Also, let's be honest, even in the originals Groudon at the bottom of the sea didn't make a lot of sense. The Seafloor Cavern ALWAYS fit Kyogre better than Groudon. =/ I actually said outloud to Maxie on top of Mt. Chimney: "Hey, try looking beneath the volcano- Oh right, wrong game. XD"

Well, I guess she didn't mention the Day/Night cycle for the same reason she didn't mention Mega Evolutions or infinity-use TMs: because that's just bringing Ruby/Sapphire up to the current standard, and Tamashii was more focused on immediate improvements or shortcomings.

The clock the player's parents give them now serves a real purpose. Also, there's the fact that our world has Daylight savings time and the pokemon world doesn't. I understand what you're saying about odd night hours, but remember the time change might not be a thing in the games even if you mess with the DS clock. But that's just a guess on my part.

'Third versions' are already really annoying because they goad you into buying the whole game again just for the sake of a few added features and incremental improvements. A third version of a *remake* is taking it too far. DLC would be a much more consumer-friendly choice, now that it's an option.

Jack Christmas It's not awful to buy a third game. We would expect a third game for Kalos; yet, we're not really complaining about that. A DLC would have bugs, if the version somehow gets reverted and that's why there wasn't any updates to XY for the new mega stones.

Bobby Cat *You* may not be complaining about the possibility of a third Kalos game, but I definitely don't want it. People are accepting of third versions because we're used to them, but that doesn't make it right. The current Nintendo handheld is fully online and has an eShop, so there's no excuse any more. Gen V didn't have any third versions, and was much better for it. But like I implied, a third version of a remake is worse than with a main series game because OR and AS already have to justify themselves as additional purchases to the originals, so a third version would need to be doubly worthwhile. (Neither FR/LG nor HG/SS had third versions.) I don't really understand your concerns about bugs, though. If someone can download the DLC, then they can download the latest patch. If something happened to your 3DS and the patch data was lost, the DLC data would be lost too. Anyway, which would you prefer? Paying $5-10 to get only the new content, or paying $40 to buy a game that is 90+% identical to the one (or two) you already own?

I haven't completed Alpha Sapphire yet, I just got to Lilycove so I have yet to see the real meaty bits of the Team Aqua story. But I did finish Omega Ruby, and I felt Team Magma being reserved for most the game made their almost psychotic outburst more memorable. Maxie gets so enraged right before summoning Groudon he yells about wiping out the human race. I like how creepy Courtney was, how obsessive she got over the player, and the evidence of how possessive she was over Leader Maxie. Maybe Tabitha got the shortest stick though, he did seem interesting in the Special Demo Version, but you don't really get to see that in Omega Ruby, it's still there him calling you irksome and annoying a lot, I just felt that maybe people gravitate towards the boisterous types, and don't notice the finesse and subtlety that Team Magma has. Their quiet but powerful obsessions, their stoic but easily shatter perceptions, and their lack of patience made them pretty awesome.

But as my review.... First of all, Generation III is also my all-time favourite, Emerald was actualy my very first own pokemon game I completed, I had the GBC and pokemon Yellow and later Silver, I have no idea what happened to them. But when I got a GBA and Emerald, I played every single second of it. Some pokemons I actualy still use nowadays in X and AS, transfering'em to Pearl, Platinum, Black, White2, X and now to AS :) So, this remake hit me in all the right spots. You're right, this game had concern for all little details. The screenplay was gorgeous, with a lot of different angles abusing the 3D, not missing ANYTHING from the original source material, even something useless like setting our clock was included, and where our mom is supposed to give us the running shoes was replaced by a dialogue that didn't seen out of place. And they still had time and space to create innovations that didn't overshadowed the original features and those little small details that could make us giggle or get nostalgic. One of those details I most loved was the Soundtrack. I actualy MEMORIZED the soundtrack of the whole Emerald, every single place you ask me, I'll be able to hum the tune, just like that xD. So, anytime I heard the remixing in his game, I couldn't hold some giggling or at least an ear-to-ear smile. Specialy some tunes like the Oceanic Museum (DAM! that one is BEAUTIFUL) and I loved some new ones like Sky Pillar's (organs can make anything sound epic). So I really found the new sountrack in this game perfect. If I had to nitpick, I would say that those portals to get to the legendaries could have been better explained (or no portals at all, just put the pokemon's sprite standing over there) because heard of the new legendary called Hoopa that can create those ring portals, but the game have NO evidence of this little guy. Although the placing of some legendaries was really smart. Like Thundurus/Tornadus standing over Fortree in a storm cloud, or Lugia inside the half-sunken ship. And my absolute favorite feature was the Eon Flute. man, was my mouth hanging when I tried that little iten. Its just BEAUTIFUL to fly all over Hoenn, the visuals, the new pokemons you can find flying with you, the legendaries you cna acess, just everything was awesome! It was probably the feature that most deviated from the main source (that and Latios/as asking to join you, quite kill the joy of finding this pokemon by yourself, but its compensated by the Eon Flute feature). This game also makes me wonder if X/Y wasn't just a prototype to ORAS. Think with me: it had the breaking through of all these new 3DS features used even better in ORAS, it had quite a number of bugs and glitches, and a very short, rushed storyline (with a quite beautiful ending) with no post-story or legendaries whatsoever, although Mewtwo and the three birds looked like they were picked just for the sake of it. My only bummer with the mega evolutions introduced was the lack of a Mega Zoroark xD He is like the Anti Lucario, and the said was one of the most announced mega evolutions, so I was always expecting Zoroark to have it next. Oh well, he is still awesome on his own.

Actually, Team Magma's ambitions are just as defined and understandable. Maxie and other members continuously say that their reason for wanting to raise the landmass at the expense of all Pokemon is so that humans can achieve complete dominance and be at the absolute height of their evolution as a species. Of course you'd have to understand scientific ambition and imperialism to understand their goal better. I think Team Aqua's goals cater towards the more emotionally understanding people, as it has to do with making the world better for Pokemon at the expense of the humans who harm and hurt them. Team Magma's goal caters towards those who have an understanding of science and history. In fact, Maxie can be compared to Hitler. He feels that a specific group is inferior and is taking up space on the planet which is limiting the development of another specific race. His solution is to cause mass genocide and kill off those that plague his ideal of a better world for one specific group alone.

***** I agree with you. I have no idea why one would say that Team Aqua makes Alpha Sapphire better than Omega Ruby. I personally feel like Team Aqua can't be taken seriously and that made me enjoy Omega Ruby much more. The way the story is laid out, Team Aqua wants to turn the world back to what it was in the beginning - Water all over the place. And it's a nice opposite of Team Magma, especially now that the Games have the "Alpha" (First letter in the Alphabet = Beginning) and "Omega" (Last letter = End) in their names. But I still feel like GF was like "What would make nice opposing teams for our next game?" back when they invented the two and Magma got a good idea and almost deep background while team Aqua was made just to justify the second game.

You didn't mention the music! The music for this game is wonderful. I especially love how in some of the tracks they incorporated tiny segments of the original music. The stereo sounds are incorporated into the music so well it just seems like they are meant to be there.

The only things I hated in this remake was: -Wally. He looked to childish and I was hoping he would of been more badass. -They didn't include the Hoenn Battle Frontier from Emerald. -They could have included the Sevii Island as a place that could be traveled by using Lati@s and it could have been used for the legendaries and post content stuff. -Like in X and Y they give Mega's way to early. They could have waited after the 7th Gym add least. -Giving Lati@s in the game makes it to easy. They could have either give in it like a side quest which wasn't mentioned in the story or make you catch it instead of giving it. -Mega's should have been used by ALL boss like characters like Gym Leaders, Elite 4 and other powerful trainers. -You can't re-battle Gym Leaders. -The caves and puzzle were shortened and way to easy compared to back in the day.

The Elite 4 during rematches and most unique characters later on do have Megas. The idea behind Megas is that most trainers don't have them. -You have never been able to re-battle the Gym Leaders, except in G/S/C and their remakes which even then was very selective.

arcuesfanatic You are correct on all points, except the last one. In Emerald, you CAN rematch the gym leaders back in their own gym. In Platinum, you have the cafe in the Survival Area, and in HG/SS, you could rematch the various leaders in I think what was once Saffron's Battle Dojo.

You can rematch gym leaders in ORAS though. If you look on your Areanav and then go to, say Rustburo City, you'll see Roxanne as one of the trainers that wants a rematch with you.

I remember how when I played Ruby (one of the first games I ever played), I almost forgot May even existed because she seemed so irrelevant. By the end of the Delta Episode, she and Brendan were almost in a relationship. The new Magma and Aqua admins are cool, too. Courtney in particular, C-R-A-Z-Y! Thanks for sharing your opinion, and I also hope Zinnia makes a return! (maybe in the Ranger series)

ORAS took a lot of steps back from XY. The berry trees were finally good in XY, with permanent trees where you can get the berries consistently. ORAS went back to the separate small berry patches that are all far apart and we also don't have mutations, which was an interesting way to get the better berries. Other than the excessive trainers with water Pokemon, water routes and HMs you and IGN have mentioned, it has also brought back the Hoenn Pokedex, which is only 211 compared to the 455 of the Kalos Pokedex. This makes the trainer battles more monotonous than XY, to the point where the Elite 4 had repeat Pokemon. The trainer battles were another problem. The battles were "easy" not because of overlevelling but because nobody ever attacks you, instead going for setup moves that are largely ineffective. Again, if you look at the Kalos gym leaders' and Elite 4's teams and movesets, you can see how well thought out they are compared to ORAS, none of that bulk up and sunny day. Look at Clawitzer, Gyarados, Dragalge, Barbaracle, Aegislash's movesets. The map was a straight port with a small number of modifications, not even the different-coloured flower patches or towns that have nice topo like Kalos has. The gyms are beautiful but again, nothing like the rock-climbing, tree-swinging, roller-skating, quizzing doll houses in space. ORAS is simply not a Gen 6 game. (You've already gone through the good stuff so I don't want to repeat.)

This is fairly unrelated, but I never really understood why people need to essentially say, "Screw people who don't already know the spoilers." Not that the spoilers in Pokemon games are significant, in this case, but I imagine a good portion of people who play OR/AS weren't even old enough to get through the original games. I've not experienced every movie, TV show, book, or game out there, so why is it okay to have major twists and plot points spoiled for me, even though something is decades old? That's just always bothered me. What else bothers me is that I was in middle school a decade ago... I'm old.

Boyzby I only decided not to worry about spoilers to let me talk about the game more freely. If I had to avoid plot spoilers it would have been a lot harder to discuss Team Aqua and Magma and their improvements. I imagine that's why people, after a certain point, assume enough people have played it by now that they can give their unfiltered thoughts.

If you haven't experienced it yet, it's your job to avoid spoilers. People that have already experienced things are going to talk about said things. If you don't want to read it, don't hang out next to those people. Nobody went directly up to you and said a spoiler, did they now? If they did, those guys are assholes. But if you got mixed up in a talk between two completely unrelated people that happened to be discussing something amongst themselves and you overheard a spoiler, guess what? It's your fault. Not to mention if you haven't taken the time to read things yet, you probably shouldn't care if it gets spoiled. I don't care about movie spoilers because if I cared about movies I would go watch them. I care when I start watching/reading something and then one of my friends purposefully tells me the ending just to be a dick. Bottomline, just like everything else in the internet - if something offends you or bothers you, it's not the person that said it that shouldn't have said it, it's you that shouldn't have read it.

What pissed me off abut the Delta episode was lack of pauses to save or just take a breath towards the end of the episode. If you want to legitimately use a legendary competitively you have to reset again and again, possibly for DAYS, in order to get both a nature you want and perfect ivs at least for the stats that matter. The last time you can save is right before battling Rayquaza and after that you can't stop until the Delta episode is over, including after the battle with Deoxys. This means you will be resetting A LOT before you are satisfied and can finally relax. A pause between catching Rayquaza and Deoxys followed by one before the cinematics that go on forever would have smoothed this out much better.

Great review, as always Tamashii. Not quite as incredible as HGSS, but not quite as stagnant as FRLG. I actually feel that a lot of the features in this are test runs for a next generation 'revolution.' Why do we still have random encounters; why aren't all pokemon found through a dexnav-like function? It is much more satisfying, takes longer and makes them less of an obstacle and more of a wildlife phenomenon. Same with the Eon Flute and HM use in general; if you can only use certain kinds of moves outside of battle once you get 'permission' from the gym of a certain level (which is how they currently artificially moderate exploration) why not make it so that each gym leader teaches your pokemon functions that only work outside of battle? So you get to a Wallace type character and he says, "bring me a water pokemon, and I'll teach it how to swim with you on its back." You still need certain kinds, or maybe even certain sizes of pokemon, but by not making it a move, it doesn't limit your battle plan. (Basically I want a button that says "end HM slavery.") Also, no mention of multiverse shenanigans that were implied in the Delta episode? :P

What I hate is IGN's review: Too Much Water? Absolutely false. I had to deal with a lot of non-water Pokemon in battles, travel a lot on land, deal with the new types of surfers with land Pokemon, and worst of all, deal with Steven. I chose Treecko in Alpha Sapphire and brought no Fire Type Pokemon along with me since I took this advice literally, so I feel like IGN's review lacked effort to study the gameplay in countless ways. Here's what I think ORAS could have done: A sound device like the GB Sounds to listen to the old versions of the songs, remix for the non-Hoenn legendaries, more water in the main story, the ability to not be forced to get Latios/Latias in the main story but to be able to get them any time you want after defeating Team Magma/Aqua at Southern Island, a story for Latios/Latias instead of just obtaining them, a prominent story for Rayquaza, introduction to Emerald features like the Battle Frontier, more clarity in the trumpets and more trumpets, a walking feature, customization even if it's just minimal customization unlike XY's customization, and so many other things.

I dont think that IGN read into the game enough. Hoenn is specifically designed to be half land half water. It has this emphasis because of the Teams, their goals, and the Legendary Pokemon. With the addition of Soaring, now you experience all 3 elements corresponding to tge Legends: Land, Water, and Air.

Plus, the game has an emphasis on the whole land vs water. Hence the plenty of ocean to surf on. It doesn't make a lot of sense to have a game with that type of conflict and have the majority of the region be land

Good points and I feel the same way I also think that they could of made use of some of the other mega evolutions like having mega Audino being a member of Lookers team and that being his I Quote 'Lost Pokemon' from x and y. Adding a man who is like Ash's rival who he sees just before the pokemon league that always beats him eg The eevee guy or the darkrai guy this guy could have a mega beedrill or pidgiot. The battle frontier aces could have mega steelix as a pokemon that could be cool. Or finally my last idea AZ comes back into the story telling you about his life and there could be flashbacks of it happening him in the jail in team flares base and his pokemon coming back from the sky. He could have a mega Lopunny. All I'm saying is they need to make use for all the mega evolutions.

This. This right here! At least in the IGN part. There's not too much water Pokémon neither, and Team Aqua only has Carvhanas and Sharpedos here and there. And most surf routes are optional... There aren't that many surf encounters so you don't need repels... Just... That Review is stupid

I loved the color scheme in this game; like in grass and trees, there's always a little bit of blue mixed in with all that greenery. SO PRETTY! Though my least favorite thing in this game had to have been Brandan since I played as May. In the original games, his sexist remark was more like a "oh my bad for assuming you'd be a guy!", but in the new version he's like *legit disappointed* that I'm *not* a guy! It's so weird! I also wish that the Pokemon-amie/Super training/etc stuff didn't even get any slight cosmetic changes >_> It's basically a knit-pick but it makes me wonder if they'll keep those features exactly the same in future games.

I love the way they do cut scenes now. Like Pokemon X and Y were great in the base 3D aspect, but then Pokemon ORAS makes the cut scenes look like you're watching the anime, I love it, it makes it look much more console-like, if any of that makes sense

I don't think Brendan/May were sexist in the original... thinking you were a boy isn't sexist at all, and wishing you were a boy isn't either- As a ten year old, did you hang out with many boys? No, at that age, guys are annoying, immature and boisterous for the most part, and girls are annoying, bitchy and act as if they're above everyone else for the most part. Those two groups don't really mix well. Good review, though. Personally, I love these games to bits. Never played the originals, but these singlehandedly saved Gen VI to me- X and Y were a mess when it came to pacing, the Pokédex, and difficulty (It was either too easy with the Exp. Share, or too hard without it- Now, I can play without it and actually be able to get through the game), and I had other problems like the dull soundtrack. I guess I'm just happy to have a genuinely great game with the good things X and Y did all in it, like the Megas, new Pokémon, and online.

The following is my insight on the review. I agree that it's important to see how it impacts the series as a whole but also to remember that remakes aren't supposed to innovate nearly as much as new entries. I hope everything I say is taken respectfully, as I certainly watch these videos as a fan not as a critic. I agree with why you felt the need to be so hypercritical of this game given the reasons you list for the first 3 minutes, but I feel as though writing off Secret Bases and Contests as "returning features" is a bit of an overlook. You don't even MENTION overworld flying at all. You said half the map being water was a flaw, but then insinuated that it's ridiculous to think there's too much water... and complained about too many HMs which I still don't understand why everyone has such a huge issue with a staple in the series. The map isn't nearly "half water" like people say, it's just very close together. If we wanna be technical, The path from Olivine to Cianwood in Johto has a ton of water too, but since it isn't part of the main story besides the one time you're forced to pass it people don't pay it much mind. Your comments on Wally are so accurate. I haven't played as May or through Alpha yet so I don't have an informed opinion on Brendan as a character or Team Aqua making "more sense" than Magma. I personally loved Magma this time around so Aqua must be pretty damn good. I honestly can say that the two bothersome things about the originals to me were the difficulty of trading between FRLG being unfuckingbelievably excessive, and the post game providing no high level trainers to fight which not even the original Emerald offered outside ONE Steven battle. These two issues were more than remedied so I'm personally content. There's also a flaw in your expectation for the Battle Frontier, Battle Tents and Scott to appear in this game just because HGSS has Crystal features. Addressing post game battling: RBY - None GSC - Crystal introduces Battle Tower RS - Battle Tower Returns FRLG - Introduces Trainer Tower E - Includes both Trainer Tower (now Trainer Hill) & Battle Tower, as well as adding other Battle Frontier facilities. DP - Battle Tower Pt - Battle Frontier HGSS - Battle Frontier BW - Battle Subway B2W2 - Battle Subway & World Tournament XY - Battle Maison ORAS - Battle Maison Considering the fact that the Trainer Tower in FRLG REPLACES the Battle Tower, it's not really an addition in the same way the Battle Subway REPLACES the Battle Tower. The first games of the gen have a simple version and the remakes adapt whatever the most recent titles in that gen have made. FRLG did not innovate. HGSS did not innovate. Therefore the Battle Frontier being in ORAS was a hope and nothing more. XY only had the Maison and no remake before has introduced a new facility unless you want to be super technical about FRLG. The Pokeathlon was new to HGSS and that was the only new content "post game"-wise, which also omitted the Top trainer Cafe from Pt. However, HGSS is hard to compare since it has two regions and is the only one to have a second part to it after initially beating the pkmn league so in that regard the Delta Story was the closest we've had. So all in all, ORAS covered all the ground it should have while adding a ton of features over content. But by adding these features it makes the content already in the game all the more meaningful and allows you to do a lot more with less frustration. The originals would have been twice as good (not even exaggerating) if they had the access to simple wifi that the remakes do and removed restrictions the way these did. Any complaints that can be made about this game that I can see CONTENT wise is the disappointment that things from Emerald aren't in this, when these are remakes of of Ruby & Sapphire. FRLG are remakes of Red and Green, not Blue. HGSS are remakes of Gold and Silver, not Crystal. small touches from the sequel are added but not whole region changing characters, events or facilities. My perspective shouldn't reflect everyone's though. I have actual interest in completing the pokedex, beating the Battle Maison, and EV training perfect IV teams so my investment is clearly higher than someone who just wants to beat the story and play with a team they pick from the start.

4:22 "main gripes"? fuck that! the only people that argue that Gen 3 had "too much water" or "too much HMs" are IGN! personally, as a fan of water pokemon, i had no trouble with the areas around water. Hell! IT'S A FUCKING ISLAND!!! what did you expect!?! not to mention you can a Sharpedo (or atleast evolve one) and have it surf, it's twice as fast as riding a wailmer! and HMs! i never had an issue. sure, i have HM slaves, but it's for the good of my team! i have a linoone have mainly the land moves (rock smash, cut, strength and...i forgot the other one that i gave him, but it was an HM) and i gave a wailmer the water based ones (though i have given others either surf or waterfall because they're useful and powerful). sure, i have to go back to a PC to get them, but it's not for too long. Oh! that's another thing! after awhile, you don't even need the HMs after a while! cut a few places to get items, waterfall to get to the league and hidden areas and rock smash for fossils, THAT'S IT! i think surf was the one i used the most, but guess what, SHARPEDO! DONE DEAL! ....sorry, i had to vent out. it's nothing towards your review, just something i find really dumb towards this game that fans argue about...than again, i've only heard you and IGN say this (other than it being a meme now), so it's very limited.

OR and AS are great games, but sadly they are not as good Remakes as HG/SS were. HG/SS had Pokewalker, OR/AS didn't had anything(Pre order bonuses doesn't count). HG/SS included Crystal elements while OR/AS just kinda induced Emerald elements. HG/SS introduced that one feature which is even today the most beloved feature by fans, follow system. OR/AS introduced Soar system which will most probably be forgotten as it's not as exciting as we thought it would be + it's used only to catch Legendaries. Flying to Towns is actually faster and less tedious with HM. HG/SS of course had amazing post game while Delta episode was too short and just average in general. I was actually expected more of OR/AS postgame. Finally we got to travel to space but only to fight one battle and that's pretty much it. We did not get to explore the moon or a space station as most of us wanted. HG/SS included Battle Frontier even though it didn't had to while OR/AS removed Battle Frontier even though it shouldn't have. HG/SS added 2 more routes and Safari zone to Johto while OR/AS didn't changed anything about Hoenn(I'm not counting mirage islands as they appear and disappear every now and then) In HG/SS we could Rematch not only Trainers and E4, but also Gym Leaders, in ORAS you can only rematch Trainers and E4. HG/SS had true Safari zone while OR/AS dumbed it down to make it "less irritating" or whatever. In HG/SS at the very least we had Voltorb flip minigame, in OR/AS we get nothing. They even removed Berry Blending minigame. HG/SS also had GB sounds. In OR/AS closest thing to GBA sounds, the thing that everyone was expecting to see was Groudon/Kyogre battle theme and nothing more.

What do people not understand about the amouts of water? They design it like that because of the story. Therefore team magma has a actual motive. There would be no point if there was no water in the region. And it adds that it is 50 - 50 between land and water. These two games i have beaten 3 times already. As far as the water debate goes, I feel as if that is the point of ruby/sapphire. What I feel people havent noticed is the entire game is themed on the balance of water and land. (Main Legendaries, enemy teams, entire plot, ect.) And if you look at the map, it actually looks about 50/50 water to land. Water may be a bit more vast to travel upon because it is not set up in defined roads, but the design of the game itself calls for it. I think it's absolutely beautiful how Nintendo designed a map that encapsulated the entire theme of the story. Also, a few things they did fix that weren't mentioned are: a lot of the backtracking you have to do to continue in the main story (before fly) is replaced with "traveling with wally/brandon" to save time and annoyance, the massive abundance of catchable Legendaries and side quests post kyogre/groudon, as well as SOARING with latios/latias instead of having to use fly. The game has so much to offer than just a retelling, and has earned a spot in my favorite pokemon games of all time.

This review actually pissed me off. A lot. "Too much water" is ridiculous, because of course there's still going to be half a map of water. It's a goddamn remake of a game with half a map of water!! Not to mention the stuff that was in Emerald lacking...I mean, they aren't going to have the Emerald storyline because it's NOT A REMAKE OF EMERALD. I can at least try to understand people wanting the battle frontier (which was also ONLY IN EMERALD), but having the Emerald storyline would just make the two games literally the exact same. While you're claims are valid, she mentioned the Emerald storyline because a previous remake (Heart Gold/Soul Silver) included story elements from Crystal. She's simply making a comparison from set of remakes to another, and honestly, I must say I agree with her substantially. The storyline in Emerald makes much more sense than the ones in R/S. Ruby and Sapphire simply just changed the antagonist group without making adjustments to the storyline, and it results in some of Team Aqua/Magma's plan not making any sense. Why does Team Aqua need to activate a volcano? On the other hand, it makes sense for Team Magma. Why does Team Magma need to go underwater to find Groudon? It makes sense for Team Aqua to go underwater to get Kyogre. Why does Team Magma have a base in the water? In Emerald, Magma was given a base in the Jagged Pass, which is by a volcano.These things were addressed in Emerald and it made the story much more memorable and intriguing, because the enemies were actually unique and their conflicts with their rival groups made their objectives clear. I too was expecting some Emerald elements, simply because Heart Gold/Soul Silver incorporated elements from Crystal. Thankfully the game is awesome and I'm having a blast playing it.

Only thing that made me sad playing these games was seeing the relationship/lack of there being one, with Norman. He seems like a proud happy father, but the ending of the game where he talks to your mother, makes me feel like he's sort of a military farther, where they love their family, but they are always gone so long, and miss so much stuff in their families lives. I mean he always put the Gym before his family, he wouldnt ever take a break, and you hear this multiple times from your mother, then from the ending conversation. Ending on a happy note, i love the credits, how you get to see your progress through the game, showing which pokemon you beat the gym leaders with and some random battles. Its was a good way to not only end the game, but to end it and feel accomplished, by getting to see what you did. idk i thought it was just a nice add. Plus you can skip it after you beat the game again, which was awesome lol hated holding down A or B and watching the credits fly by.

Good review! I'm always impressed by all the little details that GF puts into the games, and I certainly haven't been disappointed with AS so far. Though it seemed a little unfair not to (at least partially) consider Super Secret Bases new content, because the original secret bases were just rooms you could decorate and forget the location of. Now that you can essentially make them into gyms and visit people's secret bases over the internet, the amount of time you're likely to invest is *much* larger. I also disagree about the PSS/Super Training/Amie menus being hidden away. The constant animation on the lower screen in Y was kind of irritating, and now I only have to see that stuff when I'm actually using it.

In the Delta episode, does your character and rival change clothes to reflect the Emerald design? Also one major issue I had with Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald was the fact that your rival's starter never reached the last stage of evolution which made completing the Pokemon 1.5 times annoying.

For me the graphics are also very important. Seeing sun and moon change how Pokémon worked and improving their graphics is extremely important in my opinion for the immersion is integral to the experience. I had high expectations too for ORAS and for me, I was well satisfied. This was even more important for me since Emerald was my first pokemon game, so I was hoping that ORAS would send me down memory lane, plus add more. My complaints are mostly with some mechanics and features. Yeah, Im among those disappointed with the no battle frontier. I didnt care for the Maison in XY and I dont see myself doing much with it in ORAS. Anyone can do regular single/double/triple/ rotation battles with a good Smogon approved team, but I loved the Battle Frontiers in both Emerald and HG/SS because the special conditions attached made the battles all the more interesting and unique. Im hoping it returns as DLC, since I seriously dont want to wait around and hope for the next game to have the Battle Frontier. My main complaint with ORAS is player customization. Now I can live without changing clothes, that isnt a big deal for me. But being able to choose my character's skin color at the beginning of XY, now that was awesome. Being black, I really did appreciate the bit of representation in XY. Knowing I could make the protagonist look a little bit like me, made the experience all the more personal for me. I was really really hoping something like this could be a staple in upcoming games. So I was rather disappointed not having that option.

Harry Schmitt *Diamond and yes there should be remakes but the 3DS Lifespan is just about over, so maybe the Diamond 💎 and Pearl remakes should be for the Nintendo Switch? I just started renting one out in the last 24 hours, I will get to keep it I just have to pay for it over a 12 month period starting on June 17th this month, was supposed to get it last month but $460 is a lot for a Switch in 2019. I will pick up one of the newish Pokémon games(2018 Release) that also lets you transfer Pokémon from the Pokémon Go App by next month. amazing video Tamashii! even thouh i got omega ruby on release you got me even more excited about this game! team aqua may have got a better story. i still love omega ruby more because groudon has always been my favourite. What i love most is my rivals Brendan and Wally got so much devlopment in these games! so far they are my best rivals in the series. the post game is wonderful aswell! and again amazing video Tamashii keep up the good work! now off to go get me that dam latias
