I feel like this trio is the only one that is able to truly inspire fear. The creator of the land ,Groudon ,which a giant red beast, who in it's original state has lava forming through it's cracks and has the ability to cause a drought wherever it goes. Then you have the creator of the seas, Kyogre, who is a humongous blue whale capable of causing storms with it's movement, who in it's original state can cause intense thunderstorms. Lastly, you have the only one able to quell Behemoth and Leviathiin's feud, Rayquaza, the long green serpent who is the most powerful thing in existence that is able to control the winds to block out FUCKING SUNLIGHT when its in it's ascended form. Bear in mind that all three of these are able to be caught by a mere child.

***** I'm a Sinnoh fanboy, but I have to agree. The Weather Trio members always have immediate, tangible demonstrations of power that go along with them, while the Creation Trio members tend to just stare at you imposingly while you try to wrap your brain around the idea that this weird space-dragon is responsible for keeping a third of reality orderly. Which is another part of it- Groudon and Kyogre are (as of OR/AS, at least) inherently destructive; the creation of land/widening of the sea is basically just a side effect of that. Dialga, Palkia and Giratina maintain the universe; they're never really seen as dangerous except when they go berserk or something after Cyrus tries to use them to recreate the universe.
