It is because the English dub is censored to comply with United States standards for kids shows and Pokemon is a family friendly brand and having something that is problematic for that audience will damage it's reputation

@@johnshea7871 I hardly believe that's a reason. Japanese Pokémon is tamer than a lot of kids cartoons made and aired in the U.S. Maybe the early seasons are risky, but everything from Johto onwards is extremely safe.

Yeah, to be fully exact, both Journeys and Horizons are the two Pokémon anime series' which have been made using Clip Studio Paint. They did use Toon Boom Animation before that for a while (dunno exactly how long that went).

I was lucky to have the chance to meet the original voice actors of the original series Veronica Taylor the voice of Ash Ketchum, Rachel Lillis the voice of both Misty and Jessie and Eric Stuart the voice of both Brock and James at the London MCM comic con last year in May for the 25 anniversary reunion for Pokémon the first movie and it was a truly incredible experience and one that I will cherish forever ♾️ thank you Ash and Pikachu for all the wonderful memories of your incredible journey and for being part of my childhood I will miss you both very much but I’m looking forward to following our new heroes Liko and Roy in Pokémon Horizons 🌅thanks for sharing this amazing video 👍❤️🥲

Interestingly enough. Crispin Freeman, who voices Friede in the English dub of Horizons, was a script adapter for the Kanto era of the main anime. It is quite the full circle moment of a script adapter for the anime's English dub returning as a voice actor for one of the main characters.

It’s possible Netflix wanted to space it out a bit from Concierge. As for banned episodes, that’s exceptionally rare now. The Sun/Moon one is likely the result of cultural unawareness in the original production team and the US branch not being involved early enough to catch it.

TPCi won’t announce anything related to subbed episodes, as they don’t have the rights to the original Japanese episodes. They can however make trailers using the original Japanese dialogue

This was what I wanted to watch back in july but nice to see now than ever I guess... I REALLY enjoyed watching the behind the scenes stuff thanks for sharing with us here! I do think the dub is actually somewhat good heck it's pretty much faithful to the Japanese version by the looks of it. The voices are good like so far in horizons. I think my main criticism is the music I feel like if you REALLY want to respect the Japanese production why not keep the music as it orginally was & not add your own music especially all the time right? 🤷‍♂️😂 I guess this is the exception alongside censorship too I guess... but again overall the dub isn't so bad 🤔

If they kept the original music, they would have to pay to use the license. But if they make their own music, they make make money from it. Since some international dubs of the anime are based of the English dub, so they use the same music from English dub. The same goes with Pokémon names

@@shirtjs they can afford the license. From Pokémon: Battle Frontier to Pokémon: BW Adventures to Unova and Beyond, they kept all original Japanese music. They would occasionally add their own music, but most of the time it was the original Japanese music. From XY onwards they used original music composed by Ed Goldfarb because they will make money of it from other dubs that are based of the English dub. Basically they just want to make money.

Music changing **is** part of the localization which they were talking about and yes, I am going to mention it if they shamelessly replace all of the sound track for no reason (we are talking about background music with no vocals, not the opening) and then listen to them boasting about honoring the source material. Most people don't notice because they don't know better, but if you actually watch a comparison or two, you'll immediately realize how big of a downgrade it is at least 90% of the time regardless of any excuses.

Im a longtime fan and as heart broken as I am and will be while watching the show I’m still gonna watch and give these new kids a shot because that’s what Pokémon is about being open to new experiences Pokémon is such a one of a kind unique franchise and ash and pikachu have such an one of a kind unique journey It was such an imaginative and unique and special and one of a kind journey and there will never be anything like it again in any franchise and I hope more people discover it for the first time There’s no characters like them in any anime or even within pokemon itself They are so special I’m gonna be showing the anime to my kids Such a long and satisfying arc that’s something that was never done before and something that will never be done again in any franchise imo A 25 season arc is something unique to ash.
