Vivillon used to have access to a signature move called 'powder'. It was a status move that would trigger if the opponent used a fire-type move. Unfortunately, access to this move was taken from it, and it hasn't appeared on any other Pokémon. As a concept, it's pretty cool and I've never really seen it utilized. I'm sure it could've been interesting. Essentially, if the target afflicted with 'powder' used a fire-type move, instead of dealing damage it would blow up in the user's face, dealing damage. I can understand why they got rid of it, it was such a niche move and a signature for a completely underused mon, but still. Give my man Vivillon a W.

I think Emergency Exit should be tweaked to allow Golisopod to attack the attacker with whatever move was selected as it switches. It allows both sides to play smartly around it- if the golisopod is at ~60% HP, the opponent can attack into golisopod with a pokemon that resists or otherwise eats the hit from golisopod. The user of golisopod can set up good switch ins with pivot mons like amoongus or incineroar while positioning golisopod in a way that makes the exit part of emergency exit still worthwhile, and golisopod isn't shafted by an ability that hurts more than it helps because it still gets to attack even if it's being forced out at an inopportune time.

Bug is one of my absolute favourite types because they tend to be the best answer to a lot of annoying dark types and have some amazing designs. I know competitive is the doubles format but it’s a shame that nothing of singles is mentioned because it’s where a lot more bug types really shine. heracross for example is one of the best bug types for power special defence unique typing to hit hard and give unique resistances and can be great in a lot of ways. Guts, swarm and moxie are all useful abilities, trailblaze recently helps heracross a lot for speed, you can make him bulky or be a speedy attacker with a choice scarf it just hasn’t had doubles success sadly but singles it really does well in a lot of games. Forretress is another big pokemon in singles for its bulk, great typing, useful switching move in volt switch, useful support moves and what I love the most is it has 3 entry hazard moves to choose from allowing for a lot of single useful utility and with sturdy is a fantastic entry hazard setter. Explosion in gens 2-4 also really helped it be a solid lead choice to get rid of a big threat immediately. Ninjask is my favourite bug type and a bug who can’t work well in doubles but is a monster in singles thanks to sword dance speed boost and final gambit, three superb aspects to make it hard to switch into. It can also use u turn to phase in and out. It can also use acrobatics now or dual wingbeat for some reliable flying stab it has been missing and it most importantly is the baton pass pokemon than completely broke baton pass in gens 3 and 4 and basically changed all of competitive gen 3 and 4 because of its powerful baton pass substitute sets able to pass speed boosts and sword dances over to threatening attackers or stored power pokemon in gen 5 or it could pass into bulkier pokemon and make them unkillable and speedy and powerful. It is a game changer and deserves some discussion in a singles competitive sense. Even now it has a lot better power than it used to with better moves and can always use its super high speed to pull surprises off. Absolute goat bug type. And the final ones to mention, yanmega/scolipede for speed boost big damage in singles.

It's funny how dominant bug/steel is as a typing is every form of play, having so many resistances and only 1 weakness is just so strong, especially after the addition of fairy type, cool video!
@trxxblx-wxs-hxrx3 ай бұрын
You got one w Technician, one w Sturdy and can either explode or set entry hazards, another w a huge Att+SpAtt, and lastly the other being this fast problem after a hone claws (bc it has Hustle and Iron Head is doing crazy dmg even in resisted). Best thing abt them is they both utilize the CB (yes I’ve seen a player once used CB Forretress but tbf I wasn’t paying attention to no Leftovers and they kept switching on certain checks (to safely explode) Life Orb really well or even Expert belt . Funny is 2 of these ‘mons also get superpower for even the resisted 💀💀💀💀

There's some kind of glorious irony to Wolfe going on a rant about spelling Shedinja's name as "Shedninja" The same man who notoriously pronounces the names of some Pokemon so badly, it's hard to tell if it's deliberate for engagement farming or just genuine uncertainty on how a name is [probably] pronounced, personally I'm thinking it's 80/20 between the two Hell, the "Shedninja" rant could've itself been engagement bait to try and get several comedians to immediately make a comment calling it "Shedninja" In any case, I'm just so tired of KZbin metagaming dude, there's so many KZbinrs being slimy, corporate wannabes by doing whatever little tactics they can think of to farm engagement because their brains have been rotted by the need to be an algorithm pleaser But on the flip side, all this junk tends to do is not only make me not want to engage with comments or liking the video, it doesn't make me want to watch the channel at all, and I'm sure I'm far from being the only person with that mindset Or, to put it short and sour: I'm not a fucking fish. Stop treating me like one.

Genesect is a mythical and has always been banned from vgc. Mega Pinsir is just not worth the mega slot and too frail. Stealth rock isn't as good in doubles so kleavor isn't as good either. They may be goated in singles but wolfe is exclusively talking about vgc in this ranking

My absolute favourite of all the teams I used during gen 8 was built around hail with Arctozolt and Pheromosa with Blizzard. It held Specs but ran Close Combat for fighting STAB since it doesn't care about a defensively detrimental nature. I made it for an unofficial 6v6 doubles teambuilding contest, but it was fun and good enough to win a couple tournament rounds, so I also tweaked it for the ingame ladder. Bug is my favourite type so I love it whenever they get their time to shine. AV Slither Wing is my gen 9 secret weapon!
