4. No items in battle (held items okay)

Fun Fact: the mons that you can bring in Amity Square (other than the starter) are all of the mons with overworld sprites made for use elsewhere in Sinnoh (except the starters). Drifloon is seen in the overworld at Valley Windworks for you to interact with, Psyduck block route 210, and the others are all found in cities next to their trainers. That’s the reason only those dozen or so mons were selected, they already had the sprites.

A heartgold soulsilver run using pokemon that have no evolution lines. You could get dunsparce and unknown before first gym, and hgss has a solid variety for single evolution lines. I love how unique your runs are. One I would like to recommend is "Mono-Color". Using only pokemon under a color category in the Pokedex. I feel like some really good picks if you want a lot of encounters are Red, Blue, Purple, and Brown. Just a tip, don't choose Pink. There are 14 fully evolved pink pokemon as of gen 4

i think an only dragon types run would be pretty cool, specifically in xy. the introduction of fairy types makes dragons much more fragile, and i feel like early game would also be pretty difficult, considering how slowly most dragon types level. plus xy has a decent number of dragon types to choose from iirc (also you don't see a whole lot of gen 6 runs)

Also, choice specs just increases the power of "spam super effective move", which is an unavoidable strategy in a pokemon game sometimes. Its actually more of a challenge, cause if you didn't have it hold the choice specs, golduck would have been able to have MORE move options. So I definitely agree. Great video!

That Amity Park bit captures how I usually end up feeling about Nuzlockes- you fall in love with these pokemon, and know, just *know*, that one day your hubris will get them killed forever. I know I'm late to the party, but I adore these themed challenges. Sometimes challenge run videos can feel repetitive, but these feel really... refreshing? Especially since you pick your team based on metrics that aren't gameplay-driven (like type), themed challenge runs don't just have their own sets of obstacles, but they have their own personalities. I thought it was really classy that you took us viewers along on the strolls through Amity Square. I feel like the newer generations -- especially Alola -- are criminally underrated. I expect these have been suggested before, but: could you perhaps do a challenge of Sun/Moon/USun/UMoon with only Alolan Form pokemon? this is probably one of my favourite nuzlocke videos, I really like how FlygonHG gives his pokemon personalities. also, didn't expect to feel emotional in the middle of a pokemon nuzlocke video, great job!

When I first saw this video I was half expecting you to dictate cute based on the pokémon's levelup moveset, with the moves belonging mostly in the cute category in contests. Turns out you found a much more interesting way of doing it and I was not disappointed. Good job!
