2:30 I could write a scenario where Bugsy's team comp could work in a remake scenario- if this was using the "gym leader uses their own TM" situation, and this was a gen with u turn, then it could work. Scyther is fast and hard hitting. Many of us might be tempted to just tank a hit and try to retaliate with a fire or flying move. But bam- the scyther switches to a kakuna that takes the hit for it. Then the kakuna does a poison sting, poisoning your one good typed pokemon, and they weapon you down with stall tactics until the scyther comes back to finish you off.

I remember doing something similar with Aipom in a Gold Nuzlocke (Called Mandy). Gave her Return, Shadow Ball, Cut and Thief. She was surprisingly strong and bulky for a Pokemon that didn’t have a ton of base stats. But she went all the way to the Elite 4 and to Lance. I got into trouble with Dragonite, and thought the best thing was to let Aipom go out in a blaze of glory by taking on the Champion’s ace Pokemon, chipping it down for Typhlosion, Tentacruel or Espeon to get the revenge kill. Hit it with a Return which does lots of damage and it attacks with Outrage…AND SURVIVED!! I was screaming the place down with shock that Aipom took a non-defuffed Dragonite and not only lived, but defeated it too. I have no idea how it happened, and quite frankly I don’t want to know. But Aipom bringing down a pseudo legendary was honestly one of the best moments I’ve had as a Pokemon fan.

Fun fact: in the G/S beta, Togepi was evidently intended to be a Legendary, appearing at the end of the Pokédex next to Ho-Oh with whom it shared a base stat total of 550.

Metronome is just hilarious. It's like during the show Metalocalypse when the band gets some mail. Nathan Explosion is going through the mail and says "Naked lady fan mail. Could be awesome, could be horrible." Metronome really is the same. Could be awesome, could be horrible. But that's part of the fun.

have you ever considered trying out "crystal clear"? its a romhack of crystal that lets you start in any town (johto OR kanto), has level scaling gyms and gym rematches, trainers levels scale (wild pokemons do NOT), character customization, and even a built in nuzlocke mode if you felt inclined. tms arent infinite use, but theyre all still renewable (you have access to more tms at the dept stores as you get more badges) and theres a move relearner. theres also 3 tutors: one for kanto only tm moves (so any gen 1 mons can still learn their gen 1 tm moves), one for event-exclusive moves, and one known as the "battle tutor," which is basically "hey why doesnt X learn Y? here i made it so X can learn Y :)" oh and ofc all 251 mons are catchable. theres even a "tradeback guy" in the dept store who will let you do trade evos. i could go on and on and still not mention all the added features QoL stuff. but. yeah. id highly recommend taking a look!

(33:38) Heh, Civilian Surge. Is it even possible to demote him any further? (44:44) Huh, Detect? Why not Protect instead? It has 10 PP instead of 5, and is buyable at Celadon, and nearly every Pokémon can learn it. Meanwhile, Detect is not a TM that you can obtain again, has fewer PP, and not every Pokémon can learn it.

The Pokemon randomizer I use allows you to increase the levels of all the trainers by up to 50% (so a level 40 Pokemon becomes level 60). It might be fun to try that on a gsc game and use like Mewtwo or something.

I don't know if you do romhack challenges, but a pretty faithful gen 2 game that is pretty difficult in comparison (its still a pokemon game) is pokemon crystal clear. It has a lot of options and is kind of designed around challenge playthroughs or catchemall playthroughs. All 252 pokemon are catchable and masterballs at the gamecorner, move tutors, its really cool. Plus pokemon that normally suck because of their movesets become really good with moves that make sense. Check it out my dude.

How would he get that on a cartridge?
@elijahgooley3852 жыл бұрын
@@ShinyTillDawn Shockslayer, the developer, actually makes carts that work in an actual gameboy you can purchase. I think its like 5 bucks. I could be wrong, but you could probably find one online for cheap, or if you know a guy with the stuff to make you one or if your smart enough and have the correct equipment(thats the tricky part), you can just download the rom then upload it onto a blank cart. All of the clock features work the way they do in the vanilla games and the game is playable without it. If you did it that way, its better to use an actual copy of pokemon crystal and delete the data on the cart and reupload it for best results. I use a phone emulator, and it has default 2x speed and you can run so it feels like 4x speed. You don't have to autofire grind like in crystal kaizo and you can rechallenge gym leaders and the dynamic leveling encourages building new teams at any stage of the game, which i think would make an interesting nuzlocke, plus the ai is a little smarter. Im more of a casual, so im not necessarily privy to challenge strategies.

Jrose: No one: "Jrose, I'm super sus of your RNG." Legit if people question your integrity after *ALL* the challenges you've done, all the time you've wasted on many Magikarp runs, the time you're *going* to probably waste on Weedle, just, man.
