Unova was very fun to play, it was like playing in Hoenn, where you had to use Pokemon from that Gen (until the Postgame says, go catch yourself a Metagross at the Giant Chasm)

well, while Hoenn had some pre gen3 mons, like crobat and azumarill, it was also filled with a LOT of great mons, like Breloom, Gardevoir, Swellow, the Hoenn Starter Trio, Flygon, Milotic, Dusclops(specially after gen5's addition of Eviolite.) Walrein and Salamance (Metagross is a post game content. Gamefreak learned its lesson from Gen 2's failure to keep newer pokemon that people may want closer to beginning and middle of the game.

Technically Hoenn had a bunch of Pokémon from Gens. 1 and 2 you could catch during the main game. The seas were filled with Tentacool and the caves were filled with Zubat just to name a few. But I get what you mean. I too like having my team only be Pokémon that were introduced in the new Gen I’m playing. And I loved how they made everybody do that for the first Black and White games.

Even Leaf doesn’t have that honor yet, let alone anyone Gen 2-9. Gen 5 had the perfect opportunity to do it, especially with the Unova Link system carrying over names and chosen genders and stuff, but I’ll accept Game Freak doing it 15 years later too 🥲

As a music lover, I noticed that they mixed the new beats and to the old one, its very subtle but if you hear very well, the exchange of the gear they use for the music is changing overtime, from the original to new mix. PLUS THEY DID A MASHUP THAT MAKES THE THEME SPICED UP HAHAHA.

Yea, the older protagonist are alot more sharper looking with their linework, and the eye shape has always remained as that 3/4s oval shape i think it started around gen6-7 when we got more realistic looking protagonist with more curves in the vacial features, and alot more eye depth and detail. You could say the art style has evolved. But something in the art has stayed with the protagonist since the very first art of the first generation up untill the latest games still has something that just makes you know its pokemon
