In case you ever do another Gen 9 challenge and have a Applin on your team, by heading into the forest near the poison team star boss you can pick up both apples from the shiny loot on the ground. This means you could have had Appletun for as early as the first gym

Also a good way to do encounters would be how Jan did it where you take a wheel of all the encounters in an area and spin the wheel and see what you get so it’s still random you could do this but with just whichever Pokémon are of the type you’re doing a run with

Heads up, you can get the loaded dice from one of the people who give rewards from beating trainers. Baxcaliber with loaded dice icicle spear is enough to sweep a lot of the elite four after a dragon dance. I saw Mandjtv do it. It looked glorious.

In the future for dragon type runs of the game, you can get bagon, dreepy, and axew In the circular mountain above the swamp in south paldea, just circle around near the lower tower in the rocky cliffs where klawf is, they should be between levels 15ish-20ish. For people playing scarlet larvatar and possibly deino spawn instead

A little tip if you end up using ground types in any future S/V nuzlockes, if you beat 5 trainers in Asado Desert, the league representative at the Cascarafa pokemon center will give you the tm for earthquake. I figure you might not know this since Garchomp still had dig in the endgame

In regards to the grass gym, it probably went for Trailblaze because you were faster. Pokemon AI likes to have the speed advantage so will often go for sub-optimal moves to try to outspeed you. Something good to keep in mind whenever you see a the AI with a move that either lowers your speed or raises theirs!
