I think I know why you think that. The menu I'm referring to is only on the main menu - so if you're in a battle, you have to exit, then exit your save file, then go to the options menu. It's really tedious and I assume most people didn't know because it'd make more sense to be a in-battle option. But it's definitely there.

I did beat him yesterday without legendaries. My 4 Pokemons: 1. Weavile 2. Garchomp 3.Starmie 4. Rhyperior The ones i didn't use: Infernape Pikachu.

The first time I beat him I used a completely random team of non legendary Pokemon, but the pokemon I used to avoid Mysterial from using Water Spout was Kingdra. Though I kind of won because of hax. It was totally a random team. I remember it had Kingdra, Infernape, Heracross, Magmortar, Electivire and Swellow.

Another way to start this fight is to use a scarfed, adamant, max attack, max speed Azelf with Explosion and a sashed Shedinja. Azelf will 0HKO any and all of Mysterial's potential leads easily, and the only pokemon he has that can do anything to Shedinja are Mewtwo and Lugia. Ho-oh and Groudon together can easily take them out.

its post game. you basicly have to beat 7 sets of masters battle (set 4 being the one with mysterial) then at set 8 you fight sand, hail and trick room based teams before fighting mysterial again (set 8 is where his team is full of legendaries

Aswering this a bit late but, yes!, it is possible, I won mysterial set 8 with Rental Pass pokemons, you just got to have a solid strategy, farm a lot it in trade battle, and have good luck to win it.

Uber stands for pokemon who are simply too powerful for basic gameplay, whether its stats or abilities. It has nothing to do with legendary status. In B/W, Blaziken and Excadrill are considered uber. Blaziken because of speed boost and the fact that a ton of its best attacks got a power buff in B/W. Excadrill could possibly be considered the perfect Pokemon. Great typing, great ability, great movepool. Have you ever actually looked at the stats of an uber compared to a normal pokemon?

I'm not exactly sure who you mean by "everyone", but if you might Mysterial with a copy of Pearl or HeartGold, he'll have a Groudon and a team based around it. (though back in 4th gen, Kyogre was probably the best pokemon so that's the answer to your question)

Should remake XD with Mt. Battle having 500 battles instead and the top guy have fully EV trained level 100 Pokemon with max IVs, all holding their competitive beneficial items (Example: Chansey with an Eviolite), competitive moves, and the AI specifically honing in on what you do. Like it'll switch in Pokemon on prediction to account for something, like switching in a flying type on a suspected ground type move, or switching in a specially defensive Pokemon on a special move. It's about time they make a real challenge in Pokemon.
