I remember battling Cynthia for the first time in Diamond with a Hippowdon. It was impossible to win. She had Sand Veil Garchomp, so every attack automatically missed. Anyone who has played competitively knows how I felt.

Ah yes, I remember meeting Cynthia. I freaked the hell out XD I tried battling her at first, but I only managed to beat her Spiritomb so I left to train more. ...and then, I taught my Kyurem Draco Meteor. And now, I use Cynthia, Cheren, and the E4 for leveling up my weaker Pokemon~ ...btw Kyurem's the only legendary that I use for the most part.(even though I have more in my game. Most of 'em are underleveled though.)

Cynthia just might be my favorite champion. It's between her and Alder (Adeku's English name) who are both pretty badass. Cynthia has Garchomp and Alder has the crazy awesome Volcarona. Seriously the bug/fire type moth is amazing cool which is expected since it doesn't evolve until like level 59.

@MJFAN9999 Yeah, that's what I said. Red is the hardest Pokemon boss yet hands down. The reason he has all starters and a Pikachu is because the 'Red' they potray in G/S/C is a remake of the player character in yellow version. In Yellow version you started with a Pikachu, you could get all three kanto starters, plus Snorlax and Eevee (which Red obviously evolved into Espeon). You could also get Lapras in Yellow.

@PrincipeHugoConti Most of the difficulty comes from pokemon being level 40-50 near the end of the game, this content is unlocked around that level, all her pokemon are in 75 range so I imagine most trainers have memories of wandering about killing level 65 trainers and then randomly coming across a champion and getting their asses branded.

I've been playing through the game again lately and got to this part. At least she gives you the option to back out and prepare. On my first playthrough I was stupid enough to try challenging her and my team got annihilated, wasn't yet strong enough. If you've played Gen 4, then you know she is going to be tough to beat but here there is no way of knowing at what level her team is unless you actually dare to face her.

@Metroidguy94 I really think Gardevoir is underappreciated, and if you Speed/Spec. Attk EV train it, you can 1hit the Garchomp with ease using a simple Hypnosis/ STABed Dream Eater (Capitalizing on Garchomps incredibly low SP. Def.)
