I played Red Version as a child in elementary school. Now I'm an adult and a parent. As I was getting out of my pool the other day, I heard one of the neighbor boys, who's several years younger than me, just graduated high school, and is about to pursue a career in jazz music, playing this exact song on his instrument. I hope the spirit and memory of the classic games never dies no matter how many more new generations and games are released.

Its strange. When I was 6, this (and Lavender Town) music I found so scary I turned the volume off when walking though. Now, over 10 years later, after seeing horror movies and other scary things growing up. Hearing this music now still send shivers down my spine like no other music or movie could. I love how this melody plays during theme for Viridian Forrest. I don't know why I just realized 20 years later, and damn does it really help set you up for how dark the game can feel; in terms of a kid playing a virtual child that's literally going out in the world all on their own, just with some wild animals as friends to help make it through the journey, however long that may be. They both leave you feeling haunted, but urged to move forward at the same time. The music of this series really is incredible, and man did it help shape me 🤌❤️
