Faint Attack is better than Bite because it can't miss. You passed up in Faint Attack when just earlier in the episode you were dealing with evasion issues. XD

Faint attack and bite have the same power. The difference is that faint attack never misses, its swift, while bite flinches. Feint Attack is better IMO.

Triforce can learn Hi Jump Kick through the tutor, that way you can use it for Rock or Normal

Faint attack is better than bite and also never misses so you took a L not learning it on Vesta.

Bite and Faint Attack are both base 60 power, so it's a tradeoff of flinches vs never missing. Bite is probably the better option imo.

Faint Attack is 60 Base power, 20 PP for good measurment. Bite is 60 Base power, 25 PP for good Measurement. While Faint Attack never Misses, Bite has a chance to Flinch your opponent when you outspeed. It comes down to personal preference.

@@aabrightlove Never missing is more useful than flinching when playing against the AI that loves using accuracy droppers and evasion raisers. This very video, Faint Attack would have been great for that Golbat that kept using Double Team.

Maybe I'm misremembering, but I don't believe there's an electric gym in Johto. I always remember the 16 gyms being unique in gen 2 meaning Lt. Surge is the only electrified boyo.

This is correct. There are no duplicate gyms in Gen 1 and 2. The only type being left out is Dark type. Which didn't have a gym at all until Gen 8. Yes, fairy type from Gen 6 got a gym of it's type before Dark type from gen 2...

I actually used to level a caterpie to butterfry in pokemon yellow everytime. While if it gets hit it goes down, it also learns confusion which is special in the first gen, so it toasts the entire first gym. By the time you get to the second gym you have the pikachu, and it kind of falls off, but it almost always ended up with me into the elite four.

Confusion is special in every gen, isn't it? I always went for Mankey as a kid, and then Nidoran as an adult when replaying gen 1 games (because Nidoking is a BEAST late game)

So umm, I already started playing this game with a team of: Hypno Dugtrio Dodrio Lanturn Kangaskhan And a shiny Umbreon So there I was looking through KZbin and my switch until I saw this video being recommended. My first thought was’I gonna start over and do this journey with Scykoh(even though I’m two weeks late)’ . And I did, I started over(don’t worry, I still got that over file through a save state). Now, with my dreams and eventually getting my shiny Cyndaquil and Eevee(because I started in Goldenrod city) I starting another journey of this romhack, even though I played like 30 times Edit: just learned you done eight gyms and I have done 9 so yeah

I went to the comments too early, and wondered why so many were talking about Trifoce the Dodrio being super unlucky, wondered what they could have meant. I mean, he took an unlucky critical early in the episode, but that's it, right? And then the Swords Dance into Confused KO happened lmao. In his defence, Fury Cutter starts at 10 power. By turn 4 it's at 80 power. Fly without any setup is base 70.

I started playing crystal clear again recently and I figured I’d go Magikarp on Cinnibar Island. I almost immediately softlocked myself because I thought the only way I’d win was through struggle strats, so I spent all my money on potions. Turns out the only way to play with a Magikarp is to immediately take the ferry off the island for 1500 pokebucks. If I had used any of my potions, I’d have been softlocked .

@@limetime9045 I haven’t had a ton of time or energy to put into the game, but from what I remember, my mvps are Xatu, Gyarados (Magikarp), and Machamp. The rest are filler, but one worth noting is a level 14 Igglybuff that’s taken out 3 gym leaders’ ace Pokemon so far. My next targets are the Kimono Sisters and Chuck in that order, then I’m off to get all 3 rods and a Dragonair.

You’re just too greedy with your setup, man. 3 Swords Dances when you’re already super effective is way overkill unless you’re fighting a wall like Foretress. Tbh I’d go Swords Dance into Drill Peck or Return on Dodrio, you should see if they can learn Drill Peck early from the PC, cuz that sounds like a fierce combo with Dodrio’s solid 110 base attack & 100 base speed. And yes, I know it’s his game & he doesn’t take this super seriously, I’m just dropping a suggestion here.

3:39 Didn't expect the game to bamboozle us like that! 5:19 I'd like to see more trainers that have a shiny pokémon, just because it's cool. 10:08 I don't think they changed trainers like the twins even in the remakes, just to keep them more faithful to the originals. 12:59 Poor Peeram, they could have evolved with two Rare Candies! 14:02 Their power is the same, but Feint Attack bypasses accuracy, so it could be better than Bite. 17:48 Beedrill would be particularly bad, because it would get destroyed by Sabrina's Psychic pokémon because of its Poison typing.

Bug type is super effective against psychic but that was useful until gen3 when bug type attacks became prominent

I wouldn't say Bug moves became prominent until Gen 4, which added Bug Buzz, U-Turn, and X-Scissor.

Don't forget megahorn in these early gens guys. Especially I this hack, I got my level 25 rhyhorn to get megahorn like 40 levels early using the tutor. And my starter dewgong has megahorn through the tutor as well. If you have a physical attacking mon, then you can easily cover for psychic types with bug

23:12 fury cutter is one of the best moves in my opinion. I think it is 95% accuracy and only 10 power, but it doubles its power each successive hit, until 160. In the 5th hit it will be 160. Get a scizor with fury cutter and you will ko a mewtwo easy.

Yo it's funny cuz I recently learned how the DVs work in gen 2 because of this game. Yeah I never realized they influenced gender, I just thought it was overall stats and hidden power.

Scizor is gen 2. Trade Scyther with a metal coat and it'll evolve. Was a huge addition back then.

Scizor isn't gen 4, you're likely thinking of Weavile. There's even a really strong scizor in Crystal Clear, in a secret night-time area behind kurt's house that is based off of the Celebi movie.
