I personally think Aster was a very close person to Zinnia, like a family member. But then Aster died of sickness. Devastated, Zinnia took her Whismur. The only Pokemon and belonging that remained (Aster's other stuff was placed in her graveyard.) in her room. Seeing that the Whismur was caring and kind like her dead trainer, Zinnia decided to care for it. She soon realized the Whismur was exactly like Aster. She decided to name it after her beloved close person. Its just my theory, though. :)

It's hard to say who Aster is all we know is that it's zinnia's child. The thing with Zinnia I think is she lost her child which she named Aster so she was unable to let go of the memories of him. Because of this she went mad but could still logically speak to someone, she also captured a Whismur and named it Aster and started treating it like her child, this explains why she never uses the Whismur in battle, the whismur is her comfort zone. At the end of the game she leaves the Whismur finally realising she has to let go of her child and move on. Hope this helped :]

Dex Holder Green She was confirmed to be a teenager in the Delta Episode. No way in hell are they going to have her pregnant in Pokémon. Maybe in the past (like Gen 1's drunk guy in Viridian who is passed out so you can't get by) but not now. Never now. They really only care about having more children play the series now which is why, for example, the Frontier didn't return in OR/AS so no way in hell are they going to risk that by having parents etc. complain about such a pregnancy in the game. When she says it's her daughter she is speaking to the Pokémon specifically, not the namesake. I consider my own cats my friend (though with the same level of importance I'd place on my children), but many people consider their pets their children full out. My brother and I even talk about his cat as if it's my nephew. Aster the Whismur is quite obviously the equivalent of a pet since she never uses it for battle. Furthermore, the story tells us Zinnia was not supposed to have been the Lorekeeper, implying the Aster that died was supposed to be the Lorekeeper BEFORE her. Unless you think they were passing Zinnia over entirely for her at most 9 year old daughter (since Zinnia is still only a teenager, a hypothetical daughter really couldn't have been more than 9 giving her some time to get past the death), that makes no sense. Especially not since even that is being generous with puberty and having them have a 9 year old character give birth. *IN POKÉMON*. I think the idea of the original Aster being a literal daughter can be safely discarded, don't you? Now, with that obviously out of the way, others suggest it's her mother, but that would seem unlikely as well. She calls Aster by her name when not speaking to the Whismur. Most people do not refer to their parents by name. This leaves a friend of sister Draconid who was the one intended to be the Lorekeeper but whose death forced Zinnia to take on the role. Personally I'd assume sister since people in her family line are the only Draconids we've seen.

Zinnia became my favorite Pokemon character as I started the Delta Episode. I love her design, her story, her battle theme, and her personality. It's a real pity that she doesn't appear anymore because she was great, although I really hated how weak her team was (how the heck a Mega Salamence is slower than a Slaking that is three levels weaker?) I really hope we somehow can see her appear in Sun/Moon because she's amazing

I always found Zinnia to be a fun and interesting character. I really like her battle theme, too. From the looks of it, Aster is the name of a deceased child Zinnia once cared for, possibly her daughter. After the Delta Episode, she leaves for someplace, but exactly where she went is unknown. Seeing as she specializes in Dragon types and her name begins with a Z, my guess is that she went to Kalos and will play an important role in the plot of Pokémon XZ and YZ involving Zygarde

signerleo snyder true about the info and the game but you never know what will happen...thanks to the hackers we might lose privileges to play these games. Why do you think there hasn't a volcanion or hoopa event yet. I call them unconfirmed for 2 reasons: 1: my reason was explained earlier but to further it, thanks to hacker revealing information before there due to will affect the ones who would like to play these games. 2: Though we have the facts of what could happen yes these games COULD be made but then again its up to the creators to make it. The probably left these info out on purpose or on accident so everything is still unconfirmed. Everyone was thinking about a XZ and YZ or regular Z version before AS came out what the company is planning is unproved until aired.

Aster is actually her Whismur in ORAS, if you do the Delta Episode you will encounter Zinnia with Aster beside her all the time and the Legendary Pokemon Rayquaza and Deoxys.

PK Spicy Aster was named after someone close to Zinnia. According to an interview with Shigeru Ohmori in the June 2015 issue of Nintendo Dream, Aster was a person with special powers who held the position of Lorekeeper before Zinnia, much like Aster in Pokémon Adventures.

#Mixeli I think you should co a full Kanto Elite Four with custom textures on the rooms and everything as some kind of "special", like the 50th episode or some other landmark. Heck, put Blue with Mega Char X at the end, Wynaut!

I really like Zinnia and I was on her side during the battle even though I adore and admire Steven :) No, but seriously, Zinnia is one of the most intriguing characters as we don't know much about her. I honestly think that "Aster" is the mother of Zinnia's current Whismur. After all, Zinnia once said: "Oh my dear little Aster, you're just like your mother - we're always on the same wavelength" or something similar. Aster lies probably somewhere inside Mt. Pyre R.I.P.

Actually in the manga aster is her friend who vanished. Aster was given the duty to become lore keeper. But due to her absence, that role was given to her instead. Really she basically named her Pokemon the name of her friend.
