You know, Zinnia is honestly the true MVP. Not only was she aware that sending the meteor into a portal would doom Ruby & Sapphire to save OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire, but she refused to allow that to happen. In a way, she was doggedly defending those of us who were around in the early generations of Pokémon from getting sacked in favor of the new generations. Zinnia protected every old Pokémon trainer from about 1995 to about 2003.

Well... yes and no, technically Hoenn was already hit by a meteorite... possibly twice? In RSE it just lands in the ocean, as seen if you know of the Deoxys event (or were lucky enough to get the ticket for it, think it was Japan only though like most events back then). Reason I also say possibly twice is... well not sure where the Mystery Dungeon games take place, if RB Rescue Team is in Hoenn or somewhere else, it's just an alternate timeline in which humans don't exist, but the heroes of the games do go to Rayquaza to have it stop the meteor from hitting their planet, to which Rayquaza hyper beams it, the blast so powerful it almost kills your character. To which then you can unlock it as an explorable dungeon later to recruit Deoxys. So that just begs the question, was this meteor in RSE from an ORAS timeline they do send it in? or was it a Deoxys inbound but doesn't blow up the planet and just splooshes into the ocean?

I've always assumed the reason dex entries are so outlandish is because they're literally written by imaginative 10 yo. Like, prof Oak sending you to complete the pokedex meant you were writing everything: "This magcargo is so hot it could burn the entire world, brahhh."

They were written by Humans who had no real contact to Pokémon, probably scared of them and that fear influenced the Entries.

00:54 I missed Skeletor facts. Also, Ice types are strong to grass as well. The problem is how they have too many weaknesses and too types are resistant to it whereas Ice only resists itself. It doesn't need more things to hit super effectively, it needs to resist more things. It definitely requires a positive overhaul like steel got a negative overhaul in gen 6.

The problem isn't the weaknesses, its how common those weaknesses appear in the games. Almost every commonly used mon knows a Rock or Fire move, which makes using Ice so risky despite the extreme benefit of the typing. Also Ice should have been neutral damage towards Water, thank goodness Freeze Dry was added.

the only times they change things with the typings, is when they ad new types to the games, and that last happened with gen six, so unless they do that again, they won't fix the problems with the ice type. (Prove me wrong Pokémon)

Really the biggest problem with the Ice type is the dissonance berween it's matchups and the pokemon that have it. The majority of ice types are bulky and slow, which only highlights how terrible it is defensively. When an Ice type is a fast sweeper pokemon, like Weavile or Chien-Pow, it usually ends up being really good since it takes advantage of what Ice is actually good at(Chien-Pow does also have a broken ability to help it). Ice is a glass cannon type that keeps not being given to glass cannon pokemon.

I felt that one about a friend borrowing a game, an old ex-friend of mine stole my copy of emerald and overwrote the save, I had everything from multiple playthroughs of ruby & sapphire painstakingly moved onto that save before he stole it, that friend is dead to me in every way short of being a corpse.

Sad but true, I feel they gave ice a bunch of weaknesses as balancing because it was the only type super effective against dragon (since dragon moves didn't exist in gen 1... well did, but dragon rage the only one is fixed damage). Sadly though dragon was just too powerful even with that, to the point that 6 gens later they would need to invent fairy for balancing... thus rendering ice useless. It's such a cool type, but just sucks so bad, at the very least water should've been weak, but instead resists it (because water melts ice I guess technically, whittles it down slowly), freeze dry fixes it a bit, thus making water dragons get a double weakness... but it's just not enough. Probably way too late in the game too to change this, only way would be adding a new type that ice is super effective on and is either immune to or resists.

These kinds of Pokemon push the limits of what can be considered, say, fairies or dragons in unique and interesting ways.

Honestly, I'd love to have a region where our first few routes allow us to get early ice types. The problem with a lot of Ice types (aside from: not resisting anything other than itself, more types resisting it than necessary, trying to be bulky when it can't, having a gimmick that doesn't cooperate with its stats or ability) is the fact they tend to show up long past the halfway point of the journey. example: why does avalugg and beartic suck? They are SLOW offensive ice types that might live the first hit but certainly won't survive the second. Why is Wevile and that snow-lepoard legendary good? a secondary offensive typing that also acts as an immunity switch for big plays. They are FAST, often the fastest or second fastest in the generation introduced. and they hit hard.

Regarding Mewtwo's happy sleep: There is a special episode, where we can see him as a little Baby. Form of Mewtwo, size of Mew. Per psychic connection, he is linked to 4 other sleeping, cloned individuals. One of them is the Soul of the deceased Daughter of the Scientist who created Mewtwo. They have a kinda happy time together in their shared Dream. But the 3 other Clones are early experiments.... biologically weak. They die one after another.... and then the Girl's Soul disperses too. It causes Mewtwo so much Pain, that little Mewtwo's psychic abilities went havoc. The Scientists had to pump him full with strong sedatives, putting him in a years long, dreamless slumber. With only one Thought... "iam alone". Time-skip to the First movie, when the maniacs wakened him up with their constant chattering and that he was created to be a Tool ....... well, i would be pissed too Ôo
