Mostly because the creators of the game didn't quite think it through properly when the created the game. Milotic's artistic design and lore revolves around feminine beauty. For the same reason they kept referring to Budge in soul silver as "he"... if it looks feminine, the mind travels to feminine pronouns. The same applies to masculine traits.

Apparently the tile before the waterfall counts as being in Ever Grande City which means you can Fly up the waterfall to the Pokemon Center. If true, it's a big oversight by GameFreak. *Team Maqubi's Journal Final Day: Part 2 The Champion* This is it everyone, the end of the line, and it all ends with the champion. Maqubi climbed up all those stairs and entered the final chamber. Well look who it was... it's that pretty boy Wallace! So that's what he meant by business and why his mentor took back the gym.... Well, looks like this is the final battle. Can't say that I'm not nervous... but heck, the adrenaline will help right? Let me take a deep breath... *Inhale*... *Exhale*... Let's go! The battle began with the Water Champion Wallace, and he began the battle with a colossal Wailord! Just by his first Pokemon, this would be a tough battle. Even if his Pokemon is stronger by just one level, we shouldn't underestimate him. Shury, Ken started with a Thunderbolt which did a good amount of damage. The Wailord in return used Rain Dance. That will boost the power of Water moves, but they won't do much against Shury, Ken. With the amount of damage that Shury, Ken dealt, Wallace had no choice but to use a Full Restore. However, he didn't use another Full Restore like Maqubi hoped for, and ended up having Wailord being defeated by another Thunderbolt. If he isn't using another Full Restore... then he's probably saving it for his ace! Wallace's second Pokemon was Ludicolo, which is also a Grass type.... MyEX is probably the best choice against that kappa. MyEX tried to use Toxic, but the Ludicolo used Double Team the turn before, and the Toxic ended up missing (Hope we don't have to pay for that wall). The second one got in though, and the Ludicolo became badly poisoned, but it still continued to use Double Team. MyEX was prepared for this however, and used Shock Wave for a guaranteed hit, but it didn't do that much. But the Ludicolo's attacks weren't that strong against MyEX's defense either. Maqubi decided to have MyEX also use Double Team, a good plan since Leech Seed just missed. It was a good strategy to whittle down the Ludicolo's health with the poison, and then using Shock Wave just before it hit the red, causing the poison to take out the last of its health before Wallace could use a Full Restore. Next up was Gyrados, that big thing had Intimidate, but MyEX was a special attacker. A single Shock Wave took out more than half of its health, and even though the Gyrados used Dragon Dance, it was still too slow to attack before another Shock Wave took it down. The fourth Pokemon was Whiscash, completely resistant to Electric-type moves thanks to being part Ground-type. The Game was swapped in, and just in time to take an Earthquake which didn't do too much. Even though The Game wasn't a special attacker, a Giga drain was enough to do two thirds of damage to the Whiscash's health. Another one finished the job, and healed up The Game a little. Wallace's next Pokemon and possibly his ace, was a Milotic. Woah that thing is gorgeo-... it's a male... DESTROY IT! The Game tried to set up a Leech Seed, but that Milotic was really fast and ended up using an Ice Beam. The Ice Beam made direct contact with her... the ice encased her whole body. Right before it encased her head, we saw that she had a satisfied looking smirk on her face. She said only one thing, "Clear this game without any continues!" With those last words, the ice encased her face. We have lost The Game... the greatest game in the world.... The Milotic didn't even care that it had just killed a member of our team and swung its tail at our frozen Breloom companion. Her body shattered into millions of ice crystals... that's it... game on! MyEX was sent out to avenge The Game and got a Toxic in. That Milotic was freaking strong, almost taking out MyEX too. Even with Double Team, that thing was still able to hit MyEX. When we thought we were about to avenge The Game, that Milotic used Recover.... The cycle of Shock Wave and Recover persisted over a few turns, and to make matters worse, Wallace used a Full Restore to also get rid of Toxic's poison. Luckily, MyEX was able to land another Toxic, and the cycle of attacking and Recover happened again. A second and even third time, Wallace used a Full Restore, and the cycle repeated once more. Maqubi was getting hysterical, throwing several Poke Balls and even the only Master Ball at the Milotic. I get Maqubi, it killed The Game... but we have to keep our cool! We need to finish this with no continues right!? Finally after who knows how many turns, the Toxic poison had reached the level where it could defeat the Milotic at two thirds of its health. See that? No continues... this was for The Game.... The battle wasn't over yet, Wallace still had a Tentacruel left. In the end, it didn't matter, with the Milotic out of the way, the rest of history. We have done it! We may have lost The Game, but she was able to at least make it to the final stage! Maqubi has beaten the Champion! Wallace walked up to Maqubi and congratulated her on her victory over him (F*CK YOU MAN!). So Maqubi has finally become the new Champion of Hoenn. Out of nowhere, -Brendan- Ethan just barged in. He wanted to give some advice before she fought the Champion, but well, you already know what happened. He just looked so dumbfounded after realizing what happened and right behind him was Prof. Birch. He congratulated Maqubi on her victory and checked her PokeDex one last time. Just one last thing to do now; Wallace started to lead Maqubi to one last room, but stopped when he saw -Brendan- Ethan try to follow us. Sorry pal, only Champions can enter this room, and that's what we are! Champions... OF THE WORLD! -Brendan- Ethan ended up waiting outside with Prof. Birch and Maqubi followed Wallace into the room. This was the room where they kept the records of all the trainers who became Champions and there was a machine just for their Pokemon. Maqubi carefully place our PokeBalls on the machine as they recorded us and her into their databases. With me, Shruy, Ken, Cotton Jim, MyEX, Grampa, and the now deceased The Game, we became Champions with our Maqubi. We're so proud of her... *sniff* I'm not getting emotional! With all that happened, Maqubi decided it was time to head on home. She road her bike across several cities and Routes, and heck, even -Brendan- Ethan was allowed to follow us. During the trip back, Maqubi remembered every Pokemon she had caught and had been with us throughout the whole adventure. The ones who fought with her over time, the ones who were safe in the PC (Looking at you Melvin Tooz), and the ones who had died (Rest in Peace guys). Maqubi remembered them all. You know, ever since Maqubi chose me to help her save the Professor, I never expected to go on a journey quite like this. I got to see lots of pretty ladies, had the battles of my life, and heck, even some drama. It's all been pretty fun, with Maqubi, and everyone else. Now the journey is over... and I guess this journal will be too. Look at all these entries we had written together... they were all great (Yes EVEN Melvin Tooz's).... This is the last page though... hope anyone who has found this journal enjoyed Maqubi's adventure, because I know that we did. I to a point kinda agree with you, I mean for me and many others the fact that it was not a true Nuzlock did not take away any enjoyment. But I still think its fair that the people who take this challenge seriously were/is upset at them, more so because it seemed like if the people had not discovered it they would not have mentioned it. I think thats what grinds most peoples gears. Also could have helped if they had removed "Nuzlock" from the name of the series after or changed it to "Failed Nuzlock" Again not a perfect solution but I think it could have helped a little maybe.

False, you actually can reach Ever Grande City without beating Brawly. Once you meet Steven before or after the gym, you can go right to Slateport and continue the story. You are allowed to use Flash from the badge, so it’s not a necessary HM toward progression

I love that in some incarnation or another, their characters seem to sprawl across their playthroughs. The captain appears places, Lakigr has appeared in 2 games, Dunpae has appeared in other places I'm pretty sure. Whether intentionally or not, their characters end up around them in some form or another. But what I really want is for when they do Gen 4, to start calling Ethan Brendan xD That's all I want in this world xD

It's practically impossible to do the Rejis and Latias/Latios are a pain without Mean Look/Block. They could do the box legendaries without too much of a hassle. Maybe they'd do that as part of training for Steven since I would think that if they were going to do legendaries they would also do Steven. Legendaries aren't really hard to kill, though, the challenge is catching them, like with Mewtwo. Now, catching Rayquaza as soon as you can catch him is tough because that's likely almost a 30 level difference and Rayquaza is a heavy hitter. My Registeel was really getting hurt by him until I said "fuck it" and threw the master ball.

The moment the Milotic came out I flinched, I panicked, I screamed at my computer saying "No, get her out of there! Milotic has Ice Beam, The Game will die! GET HER OUT!!" And only watched in horror as they didn't listen and caused the death of one of my favorites of their team. The next day I completed a Ruby Nuzlock of my own, also losing a loved one in the fight against the champion. But I kept trying to kill the Metagross with Fissure

18:00 Despite being a mail ordered robot child, I think this fight proves Maqubi really is her father's daughter. Dance the Dance of death, Maqubi, but never teeter. 32:00 I'd lean towards this being a distance relative of the Captain, someone who was treated as as light outcast because he doesn't fight his own battles. He's definitely capable of it, but he prefers Pokemon battles. Less work and he doesn't have to clean his outfit. I do agree that he looks great, though. Kind of a shame he wasn't a bigger character, especially considering he's a captain and all that, in a land covered in water. 51:55 - Then Wallace goes back to show his teacher what he learned from MyEx and puts his hands together in a familiar seal. "Watch this, Juan! Harem MyEx Jutsu!" and then he splits into fifty versions of MyEx. More or less recreating the "Konohamaru vs Ebisu" thing. Good work, TFS. You've conquered yet another region, even if the timeline is a bit... fragmented this time. You should probably reset "The Game", though. It'll put her back to level 1 and a Shroomish, but she has to live. The Best Game In the Gen never really ends. ;-; Right? They get HD Remakes, right? ;-; As for the fire thing... Steven was the Champion in Ruby/Sapphire and he's a steel trainer. They removed that for Emerald for some reason, but Fire originally had a decent role. But anyways... Good job guys! Take a well earned break from this. MyEx and Maqubi definitely need another visit to the hotspring, or maybe the beach. I don't think we got a beach episode, after all, and that's an anime staple.

*Team Maqubi's Journal Final Day: Part 1 The Elite Four* Hey everyone, Skidds here. Well... looks like this is it... our Maqubi is finally going to challenge the best of the best. Can't help but feel nervous, looks like everyone else is the same. Maqubi has trained us all up to around lvl 55 and taught us all the best move set possible. In case anything went wrong, Maqubi has also trained up BiggleFoot and Alloy. Maqubi looked at everyone in the PC like this was her final time seeing them. Maqubi did a few more last minute preparations, such as teaching me Brick Break and forgetting Strength, and teaching Cotton Jim Dragon Claw and replacing Dragonbreath. Afterwards, Maqubi returned to Ever Grande City and entered the building. She showed the eight badges that she worked so hard to obtain to the two guards and they stepped aside to let her through. Maqubi took a deep breath and stepped through. This is it. This is what all that training has prepared us for. Maqubi entered the chamber of the first Elite Four member, the Dark-type master, Sydney. He was a tough guy and eagerly accepted Maqubi's challenge. Sydney's first Pokemon was Mightyena and I was able to beat it in one Surf. His next Pokemon was a Cacturne, considering it was also Grass, The Game was the better choice, and she beat it in one punch man! The third Pokemon was Absol. They have low defense, but really good offense, so we better beat it quick. The Game got in a Mach Punch, but the Absol survived and used that turn for a Swords Dance. Luckily thanks to Mach Punch, The Game will always attack first. Sydney didn't even use a Full Restore and instead let his Absol eat its Sitrus Berry. Big mistake since The Game finished it off. Up next was Shiftry which took a Mach Punch but was still standing. It used Swagger to confuse The Game, but boost her attack. Not wanting to risk The Game hurting herself, Maqubi blew the Yellow Flute to snap her out of it, and this time, Sydney used that chance to use a Full Restore. Didn't matter though, the attack boost from Swagger was enough to let The Game beat the Shiftry in one punch. Syndey's last Pokemon was a Crawdaunt, but it ended up like the rest... PAWNCHED! With that, Maqubi beat the first of the Elite Four. Despite loosing, Syndey was pretty chill about it and let Maqubi continue on wards. The second chamber held the Ghost-type master, Phoebe. I was so getting so anxious, that I didn't notice her skimpy outfit.... ( *Slurp...* ) Grampa is also a Ghost Pokemon, and ghosts have the advantage over each other, so instead, Maqubi decided that Cotton Jim should be up first. This Phoebe chick was apparently related to that old couple back at Mt. Pyre, but that doesn't mean we'll show any restraint! Phoebe led off with a Dusclops of her own. To start things off, Maqubi had Cotton Jim use Dragon Dance a few times to boost his stats. The Dusclops used Confuse Ray to confuse Cotton Jim, but Maqubi blew the Yellow Flute the next turn and at the same time, got the Dusclops to waste a Protect. Cotton Jim continued to jam out, until he was ready. The move that sent shivers down my spine, he used Earthquake. But just like Grampa, that Dusclops was really tanky. After another Yellow Flute play and some more Dragon Dances, Cotton Jim resumed the quaking. His stats were through the freaking roof and he ended just sweeping Phoebe's team! Dusclops? No problem! Banette? Back to the doll house! Sableye? ... Go eat rocks somewhere...? Whatever! What matters is that Cotton Jim exorcised those stupid ghosts! No offense Grampa.... With that, Maqubi already beat half of the Elite Four! Phoebe was pretty impressed and hulaed our of Maqubi's way so that she could leave the chamber. Before moving on, Maqubi decided to raise our PP (hehe...) to further prepare us for the next battles. Next up in the third chamber was the Ice-type master, Glacia... the cool beauty! It was cold as heck in this room, but do you know what happens to ice in the HEAT of battle? IT. FREAKING. MELTS. Well, in this case we don't have an Fire-types, so Shury, Ken will have to do. Glacia started off with a Sealeo... (I miss that fat lovable Bobo...) Since Sealeo was also a Water-type, Shury, Ken's Thunderbolt had no trouble taking it down. Next up was a Glalie, and these things are pure Ice-types, so Thunderbolt won't do as much as before, but Surf works just as well! With just two Surfs, the Glalie went down easily. To add insult to injury, Shury, Ken repeated the process with the next one, but not before it brought Hail into the room. The Hail might be a bit annoying, but Shruy, Ken can handle it... probably. Anyways, the fourth Pokemon was Sealeo who we thought would go down easily, but it somehow survived a Thunderbolt! It was able to get a Double Edge in and do some good damage to Shury, Ken, but not without some recoil taking itself out. Glacia's ace in the hole was a pretty buff looking Walrein. Not wanting to risk it, Maqubi healed up Shury, Ken just in case. The Walrein knew Body Slam and used it repeatedly and in return, Shury, Ken was blasting Thunderbolts everywhere. In a clutch turn, Shury, Ken, with very low health, was able to take down the big blue behemoth with a final Thunderbolt. What did I say? FREAKING. MELTED. Anyways, Glacia was pretty chill ( *facepalm* Arceus d**n it) about losing and walked out of the way. This is it, just one more Elite Four member left. All that was left was the Dragon master, Captain Drake! Shury, Ken staying up since it doesn't have a Dragon weakness like Cotton Jim. With a flex of his ab muscles, Drake challenged Maqubi to a battle. He started off small with a Shelgon that used Protect. It ended up being frozen cold by Shury, Ken's Ice Beam. After all that, it was all downhill. Flygon? Frozen. Salamence? Out cold. Altaria? Frozen cotton candy... also don't look Cotton Jim. All that was left was that pesky Kingdra. A Thunderbolt or an Ice Beam would do neutral damage, so Shury, Ken used Psychic, which was boosted by its Psychic typing and was able to do a little more than half of its health in damage. During that turn, Kingdra used Dragon Dance. We better finish this on this turn! The powered up Kindra used Body Slam, but only did about a third of Shury, Ken's health. And with that, a final Psychic did that Kingdra in. We did it! We beat the Elite Four! Now... all that's left... is the Champion. Drake moved out of the way, and we could see the countless stairs leading up to the champ him or herself. Who could it be? Doesn't matter, we're on a roll, the champion WILL be Maqubi in the end. She has us after all.

*Team Maqubi's Journal Final Day: Part 2 The Champion* This is it everyone, the end of the line, and it all ends with the champion. Maqubi climbed up all those stairs and entered the final chamber. Well look who it was... it's that pretty boy Wallace! So that's what he meant by business and why his mentor took back the gym.... Well, looks like this is the final battle. Can't say that I'm not nervous... but heck, the adrenaline will help right? Let me take a deep breath... *Inhale*... *Exhale*... Let's go! The battle began with the Water Champion Wallace, and he began the battle with a colossal Wailord! Just by his first Pokemon, this would be a tough battle. Even if his Pokemon is stronger by just one level, we shouldn't underestimate him. Shury, Ken started with a Thunderbolt which did a good amount of damage. The Wailord in return used Rain Dance. That will boost the power of Water moves, but they won't do much against Shury, Ken. With the amount of damage that Shury, Ken dealt, Wallace had no choice but to use a Full Restore. However, he didn't use another Full Restore like Maqubi hoped for, and ended up having Wailord being defeated by another Thunderbolt. If he isn't using another Full Restore... then he's probably saving it for his ace! Wallace's second Pokemon was Ludicolo, which is also a Grass type.... MyEX is probably the best choice against that kappa. MyEX tried to use Toxic, but the Ludicolo used Double Team the turn before, and the Toxic ended up missing (Hope we don't have to pay for that wall). The second one got in though, and the Ludicolo became badly poisoned, but it still continued to use Double Team. MyEX was prepared for this however, and used Shock Wave for a guaranteed hit, but it didn't do that much. But the Ludicolo's attacks weren't that strong against MyEX's defense either. Maqubi decided to have MyEX also use Double Team, a good plan since Leech Seed just missed. It was a good strategy to whittle down the Ludicolo's health with the poison, and then using Shock Wave just before it hit the red, causing the poison to take out the last of its health before Wallace could use a Full Restore. Next up was Gyrados, that big thing had Intimidate, but MyEX was a special attacker. A single Shock Wave took out more than half of its health, and even though the Gyrados used Dragon Dance, it was still too slow to attack before another Shock Wave took it down. The fourth Pokemon was Whiscash, completely resistant to Electric-type moves thanks to being part Ground-type. The Game was swapped in, and just in time to take an Earthquake which didn't do too much. Even though The Game wasn't a special attacker, a Giga drain was enough to do two thirds of damage to the Whiscash's health. Another one finished the job, and healed up The Game a little. Wallace's next Pokemon and possibly his ace, was a Milotic. Woah that thing is gorgeo-... it's a male... DESTROY IT! The Game tried to set up a Leech Seed, but that Milotic was really fast and ended up using an Ice Beam. The Ice Beam made direct contact with her... the ice encased her whole body. Right before it encased her head, we saw that she had a satisfied looking smirk on her face. She said only one thing, "Clear this game without any continues!" With those last words, the ice encased her face. We have lost The Game... the greatest game in the world.... The Milotic didn't even care that it had just killed a member of our team and swung its tail at our frozen Breloom companion. Her body shattered into millions of ice crystals... that's it... game on! MyEX was sent out to avenge The Game and got a Toxic in. That Milotic was freaking strong, almost taking out MyEX too. Even with Double Team, that thing was still able to hit MyEX. When we thought we were about to avenge The Game, that Milotic used Recover.... The cycle of Shock Wave and Recover persisted over a few turns, and to make matters worse, Wallace used a Full Restore to also get rid of Toxic's poison. Luckily, MyEX was able to land another Toxic, and the cycle of attacking and Recover happened again. A second and even third time, Wallace used a Full Restore, and the cycle repeated once more. Maqubi was getting hysterical, throwing several Poke Balls and even the only Master Ball at the Milotic. I get Maqubi, it killed The Game... but we have to keep our cool! We need to finish this with no continues right!? Finally after who knows how many turns, the Toxic poison had reached the level where it could defeat the Milotic at two thirds of its health. See that? No continues... this was for The Game.... The battle wasn't over yet, Wallace still had a Tentacruel left. In the end, it didn't matter, with the Milotic out of the way, the rest of history. We have done it! We may have lost The Game, but she was able to at least make it to the final stage! During the trip back, Maqubi remembered every Pokemon she had caught and had been with us throughout the whole adventure. The ones who fought with her over time, the ones who were safe in the PC (Looking at you Melvin Tooz), and the ones who had died (Rest in Peace guys). Maqubi remembered them all. You know, ever since Maqubi chose me to help her save the Professor, I never expected to go on a journey quite like this. I got to see lots of pretty ladies, had the battles of my life, and heck, even some drama. It's all been pretty fun, with Maqubi, and everyone else. Now the journey is over... and I guess this journal will be too. Look at all these entries we had written together... they were all great (Yes EVEN Melvin Tooz's).... This is the last page though... hope anyone who has found this journal enjoyed Maqubi's adventure, because I know that we did. Hey everyone, thanks for reading my entries. This all started wayyyyy back in Soul Silver with Ivan Ooze (RIP). At first I just did it as a joke when I first saw someone do Mr. Stake's journal (MUUUUUURRRR STAKE!). Then I just had a passion for it I guess. Now that I finished these Emerald journals, I gotta say my final thoughts. Melvin Tooz... he SUCKED! I was so underwhelmed at how his story ended... but I gotta thank the people who suggested I do a rotational journal, it was really fun deciding what personalities fit with each Pokemon. Guess I've been rambling on too much, it's not even my channel lol. Again, thanks to everyone who stuck with me and my journals. Have a good one guys!

Yo, this was the first Nuzlocke I started watching from you. I hadn't seen any of your previous Nuzlockes, so this made me wanna go back and watch them all. I got super obsessed with them for a few week. The lore, and the characters you create, it's all so much fun, you guys do an amazing job bringing it to life. Thank you guys for the entertainment!
