For clarification on why the Team Rocket Meowth speaks, at one point we get his backstory. He says he fell in love with another Meowth, owned by a rich family I believe, but he wasn't classy enough for her. So he taught himself how to speak. It made him classier, but now he was seen as a freak by others because he could speak like a human. So yeah, a rather sad backstory.

@@roboturtle1429 No, but it's been stated multiple times Pikachu refuses to evolve. Plus the only way to evolve Pikachu is through a Thunder Stone, so an Everstone isn't needed so long as Pikachu doesn't make physical contact with one. It's actually been a plot point a few times, as there have been a few close calls throughout the years where a Thunder Stone almost hits Pikachu, thankfully either being caught by someone else midair, missing barely, or hitting another Pikachu instead.

That...seems very shoe horned in. Cause if Pokemons can learn how to speak, then i'm 10000000000000000000% certain, than a Large majority would teach their pokemons to speak, for various reasons. It would Drastically help their research, it would help trainers get to Properly know their pokemons and their wants and such, the fact that Meowth learned to talk on his own just BECAUSE, is is just dumb beyond belief...

Survive is also pretty solid BUT, I cannot stress this enough, it is a visual novel. If played with the expectation on an experience similar to a pokemon game it is 100 percent gonna dissapoint.

I love that us Digimon fans can agree that liking Digimon is pain: A) Either you're on the game side like me playing pet raising simulators knowing that even if you raise them right they'll die in time or playing traditional monster collecting RPGs with some of the most repetitive grind to acquire, train, evolve and devolve to your liking. B) You're on the animated side where all of the series are so different from one another in theme alone that some can range from a 10 to one person to a 1 from another one and nobody seems to agree on which is which.

So to clarify: Dawn is one of two direct sequels to Digimon World DS, which is why the tutorial is so sparing. Additionally, the game is so long because it’s meant to be played in small bursts by children after leaving school. So it should have been spread out over a month rather than sped through like Jaiden did.

Digimon story Cyber sleuth is a great game and so is the sequel. It is kind of persona-esque, but in a very good way. The story is great and pretty dark. Imo it could be an amazing anime season/movie if they cut a few of the bad side quests. And the music is incredible, often compared to persona and danganronpa

I found it very fitting. While I don't know Persona, I wasn't taken back by any of the gameplay or side plots. And some parts seem to fit right in with Digimon with complicated life situations outside a person's control and flipping betweent light and dark moments.

Sonic franchise is not bad. People complain that the games aren’t good because how it evolves over since Sonic 06, Boom and Forces. That’s my main issue with the fandom. Sonic has flaws yes but it’s still a fun franchise to experience and that’s why I love being a Sonic fan.

I started getting back into Digimon a few years back and have purchased a bunch of the aforementioned melodeon kits because they are really freaking cool. Honestly, I liked the Cyber Sleuth games and Next Order. Not like it was easy to come by Digimon games in the past around here. If a friend of mine hadn't shown the trailers for these games, I'd likely have never know of them. Doesn't help many games were never released in the west at all... The only games I'd played by then were Digimon World 1 and 3, as a kid that had no patience at all for these, especially 1. Going back, yeah, they have their flaws, so do the modern games, but they still have their own charm. Come to think of it, I played Rumble Arena 1 as well, my fiend and I had a few good laughs with that one... BTW, I don't really get all the Survive hate. They made it clear from the very beginning that it would be VERY text-heavy, with the VN elements being at the front compared to the combat, so why are people bitching about it NOW when it was already known? Oh wait, I forgot, some people just love to b*tch about things...

I've got the Dusk version of this game which is pretty much the same, except for the type of species of digimon you would use and bosses you face at certain point, I do admit that the map design for the game is very maze like, my least favorite is Loop Swamp which is a maze of jumping into whirlpool after whirlpool hoping to get to end of the maze and not back to start, it's not the worst game I've ever played since I do still enjoy the kind of Digimon to raise, train, and battle with. There's also some content that both version failed to explain because it's already been explained in it's prequel Digimon World DS. Overall, pretty average that's balanced by the Digimon themselves being good and the game itself which is not good.

More specifically the Digital World is a higher plane of existence to the 4D physical plane. Everything is converted to data in the Digital World. Data in Digimon is the equivalent of Quantum particles aka the atoms and molecules of the Human World stated by Gennai. The Royal Knight Duftmon stated that matter and energy can be expressed via 1's and 0's and data was compared to electrons. In Cyber Sleuth when the Eaters induce Digital Shifts data was said to encompass both the mind and the soul inside them. Digital Wave, the energy or flow of energy that is used to carry Digital information is said to be energy generated in a higher dimension in the Hacker's Memory user manual. When Erika studies Wormmon, she finds out that Digimon avatars are more complex than human EDEN avatars and that they are no different from organic beings. Aka you die in the DW you are dead for good.

Digimon World 3 is definitely NOT a good starting game into the franchise. And I’m saying this as someone that still has it as their 1st ever Digimon game. She made the right choice to go for Cyber Sleuth next as that’s more fun for casual players. It’s a damn shame her first Digimon game experience started a bit sour, but at least this video brought some awareness to the franchise, and hopefully curious enough people will give the franchise a chance.

Adventure tri. hasn’t really retconned yet. Even with how the sequel Adventure Kizuna Last Evolution ended Toei Animation still says they’re still working towards the Adventure 02 epilogue. Just gotta see how Adventure 02 The Beginning plays out once it releases.

I believe I finished a play of Digimon Dusk some years ago, which is Digimon Dawn's version counter part where you are a part of team Night Crow of DarkMoon City, instead team Light Fang of the SunShine district. It can be a nightmare to go through solely because of the map design and the concept of progression through the Tamer quests, but it can still be an enjoyable experience, at least as enjoyable as most Digimon Games of the time. The more current Digimon games like Cyber Sleuth and Next Order are better games to jump into as they are at least a little bit more open to new arrivals to the franchise when going into it this way, but considering how these videos about games she does are, Jaiden would not do them for a video even if it would be a far more pleasurable journey than what she ultimately went through.

I love it, but it is... i facepalmed so hard when i heard which one she was playing "oh Honeeey... oh you picked the Worst Starting point". "I'll save you the trouble... None." Screw you for saying there's no good Digimon games. XD Digimon World 1 (I still revisit it), Digimon The Card Game (video game version), Rumble Arena, Digimon Cyber Sleuth, and even Digimon Survive (despite some localization errors). On the Sonic Frontiers, the gameplay is actually pretty good! Sonic controls well and play smoothly in the Open World and it's fun to move him around. That said, you have to do all the tasks on each island the same way so it gets repetitive and the Cyberspace are janky as hell making it not as fun to control him in those stages. So, solid game... just the repeating the same thing on every island gets old pretty fast sadly.

The difference between the Digimon and the Sonic fandoms is that while the former's strength lies in the animes, which apparently are so varied, they can be either great or terrible for different people, the latter's strength lies in, quite frankly, a good bunch of everything, but when the sheer division in gameplay types started to appear, I feel like it made the community even more polarized on which games are good. Then, the division manifested itself in, well, every other kind of Sonic media! From the games to the cartoons, the comics, the artwork, the fan games, the fan art... I bet even the music in some specific cases, like Sonic CD! And because of that, the in-fighting became even more tense and vicious! It's calming down now, but just a year or two ago, it was not looking all that pretty. And let's not even talk about the 2010's.

Digimon Rumble Arena was the first Digimon game. Then played Rumble Arena 2, then skipped everything afterwards to play Cyberslueth Complete Edition and Survive. I don't regret my choices.

I'm not a Digimon fan but I suddenly became interested in watching Ghost Game because I saw a clip of their 48th episode which had a really messed up scene. Apparently this is suppose to be a "kids" anime series so I do like the idea of kids shows creatively showing mature adult topics like how dangerous and evil the world can be. I wish I can tell you what the scene reminds me of but I'm afraid KZbin won't like it when I comment some of the keywords I want to use.

Assumptions from the anime had me assuming that Nightcrow and Lightfang were descendants of isekai victims, but no, other games in the series revealed that people can just move between the human and digital worlds at will and no one bothered to contact the human world for some reason. I enjoyed Dusk as a child, and it did a better job of explaining the gameplay, and I think that it probably did a better account of the setting- Nightclaw and Lightfang have tournaments, some Digimon are civilized and chill but even the ones that aren’t can talk they just incidentally will attack at random if you don’t tell them not to. Which you can’t but your chief can, for some reason, possibly because of her (Julia, this doesn’t happen in Dawn, and based on some lines some people have interpreted it to mean that Nightcrow technically shouldn’t have been training but was doing it anyways) authority as some kind of the head of a government (only the Tamer Union was apparently run by the Sovereigns based on games I didn’t play and wasn’t the equivalent of the UN for a society reconstructed but children based off of what they remembered from their social studies classes) so it might be a “might makes right” thing. It explains how to use the farms when you get one, and explains how to make more Digimon (which Jaiden never figured out) early on, and I liked it. It’s worse on replaying as it an adult but it’s not that more tedious than Pokémon Black and White. Due to weird meta-xenophobia about how he dressed and his hair color, and some thoughts on the politics the game somehow managed to accidentally make me convinced that the chief’s assistant was working with the villains to try to get power. (He was also acting suspicious, in my defense) Like in I think all the Digimon Story games, the Digimon will talk to you and say inane nonsense. Because the same script is used for both genders some Digimon will ask you if you have a girlfriend even if you are playing as a girl. I think that part of it was just me getting a kick out of seeing Piemon work a desk job and being happy with his inane life at what feels like a DMV in spirit. Apparently in the post game it turns out that there’s a ~secret conspiracy~ to protect the digital wasn’t any help in the game (so like Marvel’s Illuminati) and Omnimon and Apocalymon are both members.

Honestly a lot of these complaints I have with many Pokemon games too. I feel like nobody can come together to just say what a good game to start with is in a "start with Persona 5 and try out some of the earlier games afterwards if you end up liking it!" or "start with Yakuza 0, it's the chronological beginning of the series plot and it's also one of the overall best games too!" sort of way, and every time I try to get into one of them I just get lost so easily and every new game adds like 20 new mechanics nobody asked for in the slightest...

I was introduced to digimon Via Digimon Data Squad and Honestly I’d find it more interesting to see a person being introduced to Digimon By watching “Digimon Ghost Game” it’s a good installment but it goes Made in Abyss levels of dark real fast and it does not let up at times. Most notable episodes are the Chamblemon mushroom episode (F@$&ing hate those sadistic mons) and Eyesmon episode (it’s basically a Junji Ito story injected into digimon)

Basically the closest you can get for game comparisons when it comes to world traversal, its megaman battle network i feel. Same maze like traversal, except for megaman its better and makes sense

I have only played two Digimon games, 1 being Digimon World 4... which I never got far in because it felt more like that one four player arcade adventure game: (Gauntlet) but with Digimon... and game is tough. The other being Digimon Rumble Arena on the PS1. (Which is the most decent.) It's just a Smash Bros clone with only Arcade and Versus mode where you fight all the anime protags from the first 3 anime shows... AND THE SOUNDTRACK SLAPS *HARD!* Edit: P.S. If you're curious about how Digimon Rumble Arena fairs for someone who's never seen or heard of Digimon. Maximilian Dood played it during his Playstation Legacy series.

It was easy to think digimon was a ripoff of pokemon. I was guilty of thinking it back then. I came to realize later that it is a genre. My best memories of digimon wasnt the anime but the PS1 games. Specifically digimon rumble arena 1 and digimon world 3 Fond memories of those games. EDIT: OK i wanna talk about world 3. It is imo a perfect gateway to digimon if you played pokemon. The battles is also 1v1 turn based and strangely has towns with gym leader-ish NPCs

Oh trust me the mazes aren’t even the biggest factor of what makes this game bad. That honor goes to the sudden difficulty spikes and the grinding. I still haven’t 100% the game. It is stupidly difficult.

Every digimon game has an amazing premise and a glaring flaw for each. Personally I say Digimon World Dawn/Dusk were at least easiest to get into it.

I just want to say that Digimon, depending on the game, can be different things. In Digimon Survive, as far as I can tell, no one even knows what a Digimon even is, even the Digimon don't call themselves Digimon. They are referred to as Kemonogami. I have not played all the games, but depending on the game, they seem to serve different roles, so the anime wouldn't really help explaining what the Kemonogami are.

I'm sorry, but i looked up the score of Digimon World 3, and then i read the reviews for why they got that low of a rating. Turns out, like most game reviewers out there, they're absolutely mentally challenged. And for Metacritic, they only show the Metascore! NO ONE CARES ABOUT THE METASCORE! Which is why the USER Score is at 8.6/10, IMDb is 8/10. It has it's flaws, yes, but saying Pokemon is better, Eventhough they're basically the same god damn game in terms of Gameplay, is absolutely brain dead. Only difference is that Digimon is actually interesting, where Pokemon has been using the same plot for 500 generations, both game and the animated.

I personally stuck with digimon up until Digimon Fusion? Or whatever it was called. Kinda left around the middle of it, wasn’t my cup of tea. Funny considering that Shoutmon is one of my favorite digimon, right next to Imperialdramon and Beelzemon. They had fusions of digimon back in the beginning, with things like Omnimon and Imperialdramon, and having a show primarily focus on it was a neat idea. It’s just that idea kinda went into more power ranger territory than anything. My favorite form of Shoutmon is OmniShoutmon simply because he doesn’t end up turning into some kind of over the top megazord.

'Tis the curse of being in a B-rank fandom. Cause of the similar but far more popular franchises, we don't get to have enough media for anyone to just understand from the get-go. So whatever is made outside of the animes are either made for the original fans or at least those who watched the shows first. Even Cybersleuth HM doesn't actually explain what Digimon and the digiworld actually are until almost halfway through the game.

Tri didn't retcon anything. The creators themselves said that Adventure, 02, Tri, and Kizuna are all still canon And I swear there are good Digimon games. The Cyber Sleuth series and Survive are all great games

You're wrong my guy. Digimon World 1, and I honest to god mean this, is my favorite game ever made. No game brings me more joy than playing this game. I have played it for 20+ years, and it is just as fun every time. Of course I don't sit here and play it day in and day out, but at least once or twice a year. It never fails to entertain me. And while I get people hate that the game gives you so little info on how to get certain digimon, but that to me is the best part about it. Not to mention it is a open world game. It is just really good.

You're not using Bite on a Blissey with your physical attacker and wondering why it does like 2 damage to this Specially Defensive Pokemon with basically no physical defense. (Bite used to be a Special Attack lol why were Dark type moves Special Attacks in Gen 1, 2, and 3) 21:56 On a similar note, I hate the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon series, and I would never play a Persona game. Except Persona 5. That one's fine. 22:31 And speaking of Mystery Dungeon it's actually okay it's just the fact that items are scarce and random that I hate. The Main character, who always dreamed of Action, realised that he could actually die. The Criminal has an interesting Reformation. And that villian who kidnapps a little Girl, Traps her in her memorys to fuel her Depression, to justify why all live is worthless and should be deleted. ...Good times 😁
