I’ve seen Citadark Island ranked as the Most Tedious Pokémon Experience, and the battle with Greevil as the Hardest Battle. Certainly if you’re trying to catch his team-like you’re *supposed* to-and not just defeat him.

For some context XD Gale of Darkness is a Sequel to Colosseum, so some of the Characters like Vander or the old man on the wrecked ship have some inkling that "hey, they're probably operating out of their old base in the desert". But they're both good games with really expressive animations for each pokemon

Not to mention Team Snag'em's base is blown up by the protagonist at the start of the game in Colosseum which is why it's in ruins now in Gale of Darkness.

Meaning either the explosion was strong enough to get attention, or Wes snitched on their base just to fuck them over even more so they wouldn't immediately hunt him down

Oh, yeah, Gale of Darkness was a fun one for me. And also, the most difficult Pokemon game I've played. Getting those Shadow Pokemon are definitely as worthwhile as it sounds, mostly due to a distinct lack of wild Pokemon. Colosseum was probably harder in the Pokemon variety department. If you think three legendary Shadow Pokemon are tough, try a final boss AI that's smart enough to have a Slowking with Skill Swap. And use it on Slaking. At that point...fear is justified.

Pokemon Colosseum on the Game Cube was my first Pokemon game and even though I couldn't beat it not because I found it to hard but because the disk was damaged in a way that I could never get the ending, and I don't mean that I couldn't play all of the story as I was able to defeat the end boss and almost reach the top of the 100 battle tower. The damage literally made it so I couldn't beat the game despite beating it as it would shut down before I could get the ending. This was before I knew most of the type effectiveness in battle but it definitely had an effect of making my favorite pokemon Typhlosion which I still see as the best fire type starter as it is in my view the most balanced stat wise and has the best fire type moves of all the fire type starters with the move eruption, not to mention that it could have the moves extrassensory, wild charge, and reversal.

Miror B is pretty important if you're trying to be a completionist. Since any Shadow Pokemon (I think except for Greevil) that you fail to capture in the first battle miror b just somehow happens to get his hands on and you can just keep going after him with the patent pending Miror B Detector

Kids in the Pokemon Universe are tantamount to freelance Bounty Hunter/Hitmen, and all you have to do to pay them is hand over a couple Pokeballs and Potions.

I would absolutely recommend Pokemon Colosseum, XD Gale of Darkness, and Legends Arceus if you want fun games that don't follow the traditional 8 badges formula and also don't have an unreasonable amount of pokemon to remember. The Mystery Dungeon games definitely don't fit the mold but are also fun. All of those games, while not perfect, are enjoyable to play.

1:30 To catch all pokemon is a actual challenge because not every game has all previous pokemon, mythical pokemon were only available from events, and the time/money needed to go buy and play all the games.

In reference to "Why not use the old relic stone to purify pokemon instead of trying to make a machine?" Well, mostly because while the Relic Stone is the old fashioned way of doing it, the machine she talks about is actually an alternate method of purifying a Shadow Pokemon. In the Colosseum, you only had the relic stone so the usual method was to catch a Shadow Pokemon and use them in battle enough times until their shadow meter drops where they can be purified. So you take them to the Relic Stone and it purifies them. Shadow Pokemon do not level up until they become purified... once they get purified then they get all their exp that their shadow version has been banking up... which means some will just evolve right after they've been purified. The other method that's only exclusive to XD: Gale of Darkness is you put the shadow pokemon in the machine and any other purified pokemon you're not using in there to help support and purge the shadow from the pokemon. The extra pokemon inside the machine helps speed up the process by having them be friends and bond with each other. The downside (and this could be bad memory on my part so if someone wants to correct me, I'm all for it) but this method doesn't level up your shadow pokemon and you'll have to level them up. ...ALSO, for both Colosseum and XD Gale of Darkness, about 90% of the battles you fight are double battles... Which means moves like Earthquake and Surf play huge factors in battles... for good and bad.

Yeah its sad when people are excited for their 100th birthday, but never make it. We have a local legend around where I live Mr. Sertich who was known as the oldest hockey player in the world he sadly passed away at 99 from complications of a stroke. I wish he got the chance to play hockey on his 100th birthday like he was excited for.

At the very least, there's a reason the protag has to do all the stuff in this game. Shadow Pokemon are very dangerous (Shadow Moves will always be Super Effective on anything that's not a Shadow Pokemon) and they were only able to make one Snag Machine before all the kidnappings and destruction. Everyone else in the HQ was a researcher or Jovi, and didnt have any battle skill. He was literally the only one actually allied with the HQ for the job. I didnt say it was a good reason, just a reason.

my coments from the vid: I still have Colosseum and XD. Colosseum is still in it's og case with manual, I'm not sure what happened to my old XD but I was able to buy it a few years ago before the price for the game jumped. I love those games! Cool glitch for Colosseum. Infinite pokeballs (even MasterBall) (from glitchcity wiki) Enter a battle. On the first Pokémon's turn, use the Poké Ball that will be kept. On the second Pokémon's turn, switch the first Poké Ball's position in the Items menu. While it will look like the first Poké Ball is being used, no Poké Balls will disappear from the inventory at all, and the game will still treat the situation as if the player had thrown a Master Ball (or whichever kind was selected) at the opponent

My comment is going to be buried alive, but I do have this game. I would say the gamecube games are my 2nd favorites with all 4 black and white games being my first (bite me I don’t care) since I love double battles (which all the fights in colosseum and XD are) this game grew on me closely. Catching and purification was tedious at times, but in colosseum you get Ho-oh for doing so and the johto starters in XD which have special moves so I’d consider it worth it. These games are rare though and definitely worth the investment. Ps: I think XD is worth so much because of the shadow Lugia alone which when purified knows psycho boost (deoxys’s special move) somehow.

A bunch of pokemon get moves they otherwise wouldn't Spinerack gets signal beam, moves like Heal bell, refresh, sing gained when purified. By doing the Mt battle challenge 3 times you get the three johto starters with an egg move and the elemental hyper beams

And I would say it is the darkest just for the fact its one of the only games you STEAL another person's pokemon. (And funny enough, I do actually have it on my shelf still. There's a reason I tend to avoid dubs of anime. The voice actors are usually horrible or don't fit to the character they are voicing. There are only a rare few exceptions. -_- Also, this is why I prefer Colosseum. At least in that game, I'm an ex-villain kicking butt...rather then a child who only ever battled in VR. xD Also, dang, a game I own is worth money. xD

Actually Shadow Lugia was caught by Greevil. Snag Machine works exclusively on Shadow Pokemon, there was no situation in which Greevil could have prevented the Master Ball yoink.

Colosseum had the better story but was ultimately trying a new style of gameplay out so it was a bit rough. XD Gale of Darkness refined and polished the gameplay up as its sequel, but ultimately dropped the ball on the story telling. Though, I did love the inclusion of Shadow Lugia because it actually had a different model as a Shadow Pokemon compared to its purified form where as all the other Shadow Pokemon were just normal with glowing red eyes and a dark aura around them.
