I love the IR's in shrouded. The problem with the set is poor top chase cards. If they had put the Kingdra and Greninja promos in the set instead of making them promos the set would be exploded in popularity. Pokemon is smart but sometimes I scratch my head at some of their decisions. People would have chased that greninja so hard. Not sure why they would make it a promo instead.

im a 2 box collector of Booster boxes and ETB. 1 set of stuff to open and the other set to sit on a shelf and look good till it grows enough to reinvest into new sets of doubles always can say i opened that set or product. with stellar i did notice squirtle is the harder one to pull vs bulbasaur.

We’re adults now, not kids collecting cards & some of us just have a knack for investing which combine with the hobby of pokemon can be very enjoyable. I love that you called out the point that people can demand "easy to pull sets" because of that fact alone and that's why a set like Obsidian Flames is growing slowly but surely. I don't know if this comment will be seen, but I think it is safe to say that the price of the market is the way it is because of the set size. Twilight masquerade has a total of 11 SIRs and 21 Illustration rares, compared to Stellar Crown's 6 SIRs and 13 Illustration rares. Even if the hit rates are the same, it is easier to hit the cards you want because of the pool of cards that are available with stellar crown compared to the enormous size that twilight masquerade has.

I agree the market can be a huge factor in a set but I think it's driven a lot by the pokemon part of it. Because the set is small once people pull the cards they want and the set has fatigue faster then bigger sets people will stop opening it. Right now it's brand new but to your point though if pull rates are hard enough then people will continue to buy and either way I definitely don't see it dropping below 105. It's a decent set, and depending on the print run could do really well I just see it more like 110 for a while.

This happens to every set every time. Nobody wants it as soon as it's released until nobody is buying it anymore, then you get wave 2 where all the people who bought at release are now selling at higher prices on ebay because of the fees and shipping. The wave 2 guys start hyping it up to justify their purchases. Then that wave dies at around 150-200 bucks and either breaks out like Crown Zenith or stays at or around $150 for years. Pokemon is the EASIEST investing vehicle ever, with bad returns but guaranteed. It does this EVERY time.

My distributor was selling loose Stellar Crown booster boxes for $80 prerelease but now they are selling a case for $590 which is $18 more a box after release. I didn't order any because I am pumping all my money into Japanese 151 booster boxes still.

Got 2 stellar crown BB pre-order on TikTok for sub $100. Was going to buy a couple more after release, but ran across a deal on Twilight Masquerade… opted to buy the known hard hitter, than the unknown of stellar crown. I think Stellar Crown will be a mid set, below TW and PE, but above a couple other sets. Regardless I got a couple of boxes just in case 😂.

I like the SIR Pokémon in this set. Terapagos actually looks cool to me. The artwork is a bit busy but it’s fine, reminds me of the Magikarp and giratina artworks. I opened 50 sleeved boosters and my best hits were 2 squirtle IRs. I’ve opened booster bundles and 3 pack blisters as well. But this set definitely has tough pull rates.

I only want to invest in boxes, that i feel could 5x-10x within 3-5 years. Small 2x gains are not worth chasing for me as an experienced trader dealing with much bigger risk/reward in a much shorter timeframe. People are still learning what the hell are these new Pokémon are. As most new collectors this year are tied in from the 151 set this year. The biggest problem is content creators won’t rate the sets that are actually bad between 2-4. This set is a (5-6/10) the nice cards can be bought raw for lower than a booster box. So what’s the point? The era is screaming out for a team rocket set and 2nd generation Pokémon. We really need to compare the sets pound for pound and be real.

Agree with you about that SIR pull rate (1/4-5bbxs) which is why I have not and dont plan on opening any boxes cuz unlike many that say that got this n that card and its awesome, well, I dont have that skill called 'Luck'. hehe - So I have my sealed bbxs (low entry$) but will be paying attn to the #count of certain singles etc. Though do think SSpark looks promising so my just keep extra funds for that sealed product.

With obsidian flames the only boster box I opened with the misses and her boy who collects pulled the main charizard and gold one aswell as lots of good hits from 1 booster box swear it was crazy hits only problem was I fort most bosterboxes will be this way and with silver tempest and scarlote violet no weee near the luck I only opened the other 2 as rip in the seal when delivered and top of a box opening not making it a great looking one give me the reason to rip with our boy junior keeping rest sealed now !!

All the investing aside, Pokémon after pandemic was known to reprint every set. (I know everyone talks about reprints and lose their minds over it but im just saying my opinion) You can call me Timmy or what ever you want but there is no way Pokémon let’s sets like twilight or other sets with lesser prints stay like this and start getting more expensive fast. I like these videos.. but honestly my son doesn't get packs to keep closed for 30 yrs.. he opens everything and trades.. he doesn't want money, doesn't want to become rich off pokemon, he trades his 50-70 dollar cards for packs . He loves opening and pulling..
