I just started collecting in January! I already have a complete collection of Evolutions with sealed Etb's and a few blisters. But I have basically gone full out on Hidden Fates. I have 19 tins, and 11 Collection boxes (Walmart)and 2 Ultra ball collection boxes. I plan on keeping it all sealed. Lol. I have opened more than that though. It is ridiculous, lol. But with the quarantine between that and gardening I have been having lots of fun. I even have purchased a few Korean Hidden Fates and some Vintage Boosters before the major price hike. Thank God! I opened so many team up and unbroken bonds set. So glad i still have 2 burning booster box and 2 unbroken bonds booster box sealed. Also a couple hidden fates products sealed. One thing u should mention is finding flashfire from walmart, those packs alone is going mid $20-$30 and booster box is going into a thousand now when it was $400 a few months ago.

I got wind of the price hike with unbroken bonds a week ago. There aren't any booster boxes within my price range, but I did buy up a whole bunch of sleeved booster packs from a few stores at retail price. Hopefully they'll increase in value

We are seeing growth among many hobbies due to the fact that people have been stuck at home for months due to COVID-19. Not spending money going out, not spending money on vacations. A lot of people got stimulus checks, unemployment and paid from their company as well so they had lots of money to throw at hobbies. I've seen massive growth is sports cards as well as Pokemon. It's been crazy. For modern you can't go wrong with any set with Charizard or Shiny Pokemon which is why Hidden Fates will be the set in years to come IMO.

The sale price was $7500usd... its a misprint that features white wings instead of the typical green, in psa 8 condition. It will be on ebay sold items if u look hard enough

you have a good channel but I wish you would do proper research. The charizard that sold for $37k was one that they guy didn't show the back of the card. In the description the person mentions that the card shouldn't have gotten a PSA 10. That's why it sold so cheap. If you know about the efour forums, then you'd see a lot of the top collectors (like smpratte & Gary from Pawn Stars + more) offering $50k+ for PSA 10 1st edition base charizard.

Even more ridiculous than the mid 90s. At least back then it was because Ebay was new and no one understood what was really going on. Now what's happening is that people are literally just scalping cards off TCGPlayer (which ANYONE with money can do) and relisting them at absurd prices, and speculators are riding the wave and driving up prices even higher.

Hey Jake, love your channel. Probably my favorite Pokemon channel :). Quick question for you. Do you think the over printed set Pokemon cards will lose value in the future? Here is an example... So I was big at collecting marvel cards in the early 90's but they were so heavily printed that are basically worthless today :(. Will Pokemon be the same ( exclude the vintage pokemon sets).

That's tricky, I think it comes down to how memorable the set was. There are definitely some sets that are forgettable and will probably never gain value. On the subject of Marvel cards I think they side interest. For example, everytime Pokemon comes out with something new like Pokemon Go or Detective Pikachu, a portions of those people do enter the Pokemon card hobby. But when Marvel releases an Avenger movie, I don't think anyone is suddenly interested in Marvel cards.

For vintage you can definitely buy loose boosters. For modern product you should bite the bullet and spend a little extra for the sealed booster box. No serious collector wants 36 loose packs.

The set doesn't contain Charizard and very few popular Pokemons so it feels a bit lack luster. The most expensive card in Rebel Clash is actually a trainer that is powerful in competitive play. Its also a brand new set so I would hold off on it for at least another year.

Yes. This is a surprisingly reprint. I'm still optimistic on most modern sets. If they do reprint Team Up and Unbroken Bonds then I will certainly think twice about buying more modern sets.

Then again I’d save the tins for opening and I would bite the bullet and buy a premium powers collection, the promos in that box are worth much more than the actual cost currently if they were to get a 10, which is why people will absolutely want them over just the basic tin promos.

The sealed booster boxes have a heavy premium as that is what people like to pick up. The loose packs are always cheaper. $4 is regular retail MSRP so I suppose it's a pretty solid deal.

Just got 3 boxes of Burning Shadows in the mail today, wanted to open a couple of packs and started with like 4 boosters. Got nothing only rares and at the best reverse rares, i continued and wanted to get at least a holo until i stopped (wanted to open the rest with some friends). So i went on for 11 Packs without anything and suddenly when i opened the 12th pack i pulled the freakin Charizard and i was shaking holy shit. Probably a 7 or 8 but still so damn awesome and now i have 2 boxes that i can store for now. Also ordered the three legendary birds from Supreme victors, all PSA 9, for around 330 dollars. Probably couldve got them cheaper but no offer with all 3 was available and considering the shipping cost i didnt want to purchase them individually. Whats your thought on that "investment", though i mostly bought them cause i think they are awesome. It was also my first ever purchase of individual cards and they will be my first graded cards aswell.

Totally depends on you. Sometimes it's actually cheaper to just buy them already graded. It can be fun if you're only sending two or three cards to try out the grading process. If you enjoy the hobby send more. I regularly send in batches of 25+ as it gets cheaper when you send in bulk orders.

Evolutions is a super popular set. The issue is that it has the largest print run out of all pokemon sets in history, so there's a lot of XY evolutions out there. Only time will tell how much sealed product of evolutions is left.

XY evolutions is really popular but it's also the most heavily reprinted set of all time. That's why I'm hesitant to recommend it. It might grow in value in a few years when supply finally dwindles out

Do you think Team Up cards will come back? They're my favorite but were sooo short lived. I got 6 tins of Hidden Fates recently for 17$ each, tax free in Oregon @ Gamestop. 🔥

Pokemon does a theme every year to keep the game fresh, and 2019's theme was tag team cards. These are very popular so I could certainly see them doing tag team V cards in 2021 or later down.

Hidden fates is amazing I didnt know ultra prism won't be reprinted i will go snag a booster box now lol I just got unbroken bonds booster box I dis get a few collection boxes of hidden fates and I got them for 39 dollars each lol yeah good stuff lol I actually feel unbroken bonds is one of the best right now its going up and its going to keep doing it now I have a feeling about this set as shown by a few of the bigger collectors they feel its kuch better to invest in that set then champions path even but hey this is aeesome thanks for the info and great content again I literally got my unbroken bonds booster box for 170 so not bad lop yes literally today lol so you can find them for less right now but they are shooting up in price so are the cards lol also cosmic eclipse is 100 dollars a box now there are some going for over 200 all over the place just wanted to let you know that its pretty insane they leaped in price overnight this is if we are going by average prices
