I liked the lyrics. They reflect Kyurem’s pain and resentment of the two brothers selfish conflict. Kyurem desires to be whole again. And proving the flaws of truth and ideals. Plus he brings up a good point. Once again, the people who made the lyrics did a good job in reflecting Kyurem’s feelings. You got to feel sorry for Kyurem’s pain because of the kings.

Honestly these lyrics gave such a tragic interpretation of Kyurem. He didn't care about truths and ideals, he was content just being whole. Then he was forced to being split into 3 entities for something that was insignificant to him for nothing in the end. Where Zekrom and Reshiram at least got to have some identity after the split, Kyurem was stuck being a shell and cast aside while his other parts got to exist normally. He suffered in solitude, broken and incomplete. Honestly after this I can't even be mad he acted this, I'd hate humans after this too. Maybe one day Kyurem can find peace and finally merge with his other parts once again.

Either that, or it agrees, at least in part. It, Kyurem, and Reshiram were all once one whole, a perfect harmony. Now, they are parts, shattered. Zekrom agrees with Kyurem in some aspects, and even has its own regrets for what happened alone from Kyurem's, but without Reshiram, they're still fragments of the original whole. You can almost feel this in some parts of the song that feel like they're asking for someone to join, but no voice is added, as if both sing to their remaining 3rd, the part of them which want to return to 1 being expressed now that they are so close to accomplishing it, even if the method was painful.

"Kyu" the analysis! These three legendaries are based on Taoism. However, beyond the clear Yin and Yang, there is also gray, the circular emptiness that completes the symbol. Unstable without what became Zekrom and Reshiram, everything that happens with Kyurem from the split and beyond is reflected both mentally and physically. Its cold gray once tempered the heat of the others into balance, but alone dominated the form, becoming both icy in appearance and frosty in demeanor. Together, all aspects of the being were perfect, Black, White, 'N' everything between. But with the most venerable aspects of the legend's being scattered into their own lives, Kyurem is left to Ghetsis's ambitions. Even in this song, their voice splits - fused but not merged, never whole. Late Edit: What can the existence of the DNA splicers add to the story? Could the heroes or their descendants have attempted to resolve their mistakes?

MOTI says something similar caused it to break, but that's a little deceptive. Before, it had composition. Now, it's 'empty,' and much easier for someone like Ghetsis to control.

@@yusheitslv100 I view it as Kyurem going with the plan despite the pain because- 1) He is blinded by the desire to become whole again (and maybe get revenge on humanity), he's *desperate* at this point. 2) The pain he suffered for years, the pain of incompleteness and emptiness, the feeling of being a hollow husk with nothing while the other 2 parts of him retained *some* identity. *Kyurem is literally having an existential crisis while struggling to have any sense of identity* This physical pain is surely *nothing* to him, in comparison to what he went through.

Working on this song was such a delight. When this song came up through the pipeline and I began working on the lyrics the opening segment of this song really set the tone I wanted for it; broken and distorted and simply a husk of what it could be. With this I decided to expand on the way that Kyurem feels throughout this song, not completely whole. While writing this I ended up deciding that since Kyurem has fused at this point, the vocals should actually reflect that and feature both Kyurem and Zekrom (or Reshiram) mixing with each other and sounding like two parts of a whole while still missing part of it. I actutwrote the first draft of this song with the express ability to be done with either Black Kyurem of White Kyurem depending on what would fit better for our purposes here on the channel as a neat tid bit! One of the little things in it that I personally really liked with these lyrics was using Kyurems focus of being ice typed to the lyrics advantage. When Kyurem goes on with things like "they will learn to freeze" it is meant to have a double meaning with both the literal "I'm gonna freeze everything to ice" as well as focusing on the cold heartless nature of Kyurem in the way of "everyone will learn to feel like I do, frozen, uncaring, and dead inside" be ause after having been abandoned for so many years, that is all that would be left in Kyurems mind. This is also one of those songs/fights where I really didn't want to focus on the Pokemon vs the Trainer to much and more wanted to focus on the Pokemon and their inner monologue that just happens to be playing while the fight is underway. Taking a focus to the history of Kyurem, it's relationship with the twin heroes, and the utter betrayal it felt when they forced it to split into three parts and just leaving the husk alone to rot because it was not their Truths or Ideals. All in all, wonderful song with a wonderful cast behind it! Huge thanks to Alex for the polish on the lyrics that he helped with, that man always seems to know just how to bring that last little bit of emotions out from lyrics to give it that boost. Major kudos to Dylan for the wonderful voice talent on this, encapsulating both Kyurem and Zekrom is no easy feat and they did it wonderfully while also getting all the right emotions and feelings tied to the song and story being told. And Toonwolf did am absolutely stunning job on the art to really bring out the emotions with the song and give a true scale to what the trainer would be facing in that moment and the sense of dread that would come with such overwhelming power. They are awesome dude, one of the best songs I have ever heard and can't stop listening to it, I mean every pokemon song this channels has is but this one also made me see Kyurem a bit differently, not just controlled by Ghetsis but also finding this as a chance to take back what's his, the rage, the sadness of his past and being manipulated once again after so many years by another human. "I can be whole" didn't mean much to me before I learned that Kyurem can't fuse with both Reshiram and Zekrom but when I did I realised how desperate Kyurem was to become what he lost. I used to play a character a lot like Kyurem for a very long time, so I can really empathize with the situation he finds himself in in this story. It's awful, absolutely terrible. A once noble and caring dragon reduced to cold, unfeeling, incomplete monster by the two people it loved- People who, ultimately, couldn't care less for it when compared to themselves. It must be agonizing for Kyurem to even exist in its current form, and really, it didn't even do anything wrong. It was just caught in the middle of something and got completely screwed over. Yikes.

As someone who has a friend that was stuck between two friends who came to hate each other over a few bad arguments about college, this speaks to me more than I expected any pokemon song would. He didn’t want to pick sides because he wanted to work with both of them. But he kept getting pulled in two different directions until he couldn’t take it anymore. Fortunately, he broke off of both of them before he broke himself, but he said it still felt like losing two good friends over nothing. And it sucked. It'd be interesting to see how Kyurem and Giratina would interact, actually. Giratina was banished for being too aggressive, and Kyurem was broken for being too peaceable. Combine this with Giratina still being aggressive, but not necessarily malevolent, vs Kyurem casting aside the 'truths and ideals' he once held to in favor of spite and anger, and you have an... interesting combination.

Back to pokemon we go. I enjoyed the lyrics here. They can be summed up as Kyurem feeling betrayed by the twin brothers who turned against each other for truth vs ideals. Now he wants to freeze everything and everyone after seeing firsthand the follies of the twins as the original Unova dragon. The voice for Kyurem sounded cold and unfeeling, yet full of resentment and anger. A "cold rage" if you will. It makes sense as Kyurem would dislike humans after being forced to split from the Unova Dragon into Reshiram and Zekrom while leaving Kyurem behind as a frozen husk. Wonderful job as always.

After reading the comment from lyrics author, I started to love it more, then I did from the start. It's just sounds off, in some kind of dis-harmony air something like that. I now know that it's intended, so bonus point, but this is not the best cover from the legendary bytes package. Gen 4 was a lot better for me, but this one is still a split one. Keep it up, all of you are doing a great job making this covers!

(Big props using Black Kyrurem because it's defiantly the strongest between the two fused forms) I'm looking forward to next week ^^ as I can guess it'll be Xerneas/Yveltal/Zygarde next since those legendries have the only unique legendary battle theme in Pokemon X and Y

White Kyurem is generally considered more dangerous last I recall, since access to Fusion Flare is more noteworthy than Fusion Bolt, along with Ice Beam being more consistent than Icicle Crash

If anyone asks, Bulbapedia says that while the brothers are the ones that caused Reshiram and Zekrom to split, making Kyurem, they put their feelings aside and declared neither was superior to the other. It was their children that abused their powers, resuming the fight before they disappeared. They are probably the reason Kyurem acts antagonistic here...that or it sought its own goal via working with Ghetsis.

I've had this idea rattling around in my head ever since I saw a video from a alchemist on KZbin. The name of the true dragon references Azathoth (the world shaping wind and the representation of a complete life form) it is the dragon of faith because it draws strength from something as deep as truth and as concrete as ideals yet at the same time it is anathema to either of them. Hence why when the two brothers started trying to force truth or ideals upon the dragon it felt pieces and all that was left was the cold shattered husk Faith.

What I find most interesting about the video is how they specifically chose Black Kyurem for the focus. Because Zekrom represents Ideals. Now, while that may just be for the more menacing design, I'd like to think that Black Kyurem singing out this musical repersents Kyurem's own tainted ideals. For, out of the two, down to the very core of the word, Truth is plain and simple. It is simplistic. However, ideals are complex, I can't fully explain my reasoning why Black Kyurem fits better than White Kyurem, besides the fact that White was the game I played, but, down to the very core of this trio in particular, as we all know, they are the Tao Trio. Meant to represent the Yin-Yang. The Taoism ideology of harmony. And, isn't ironic, that the boss of the trio, is Kyurem. the "Shell" of the Yin (Resheram) And the Yang (Zekrom) they say you can't have one without the other, and Kyurem is proof of that matter, for they were once a mighty dragon, but because of the clash of ideology and truth, they were split into three, two became important to Unova, while the third was cast aside and forgotten, so, it makes sense that Kyurem is so angry at the world. One thing that I actually like about game Kyurem over anime Kyurem is how i the games Kyurem is never able to be in any of it's forms without the splicer, while, in the anime/movies it just, has access to it's other forms for no reason. Okay, I get that it has to be done this way for anime reasons but, still. I really agree with the people down here in the comment section, I want to see what the Original Dragon was. Not Reshiram, not Zekrom, not Kyurem. But the True Dragon. Origin Kyurem. Honestly, I can see how it would almost look, the right half will have Zekrom's arm and wing, while Reshiram would repersent the left side, but, the thing is, I can't picture what the tail would look like. Same, different? Would it have black and white rings? What would the true form of the Unovian Tao Dragon look like?
