I dunno if it's just me and I'm def not one of those PETA fucks but...This pokemon game seems rather cruel and mean. Lmfao I mean you're clearly walking up to wild pokemon just doing their thing and absolutely DESTROY whatever life it has at the moment by either capturing it or beating the fuck out of it. A lot of the pokemon are just chilling, napping, hanging out and here comes your character lobbing never ending pokeballs at them. Lmfao It seems really cruel especially since there doesn't really seem to be a reason for it. Lol It just seems to be "Catch these pokemon..because...it's pokemon?" Rather then for plot reasons. Before the pokemon would attack YOU so you were just defending yourself for the most part. Now you're literally running up to these pokemon and slapping them in the face lmfao

Well yes and no.. they ask you to catch and study them due to people meeting their deaths in the wilds and the studying provides information so that they can survive. it makes sense

You haven’t played the game have you? It’s stated that people have tried living separate lives from Pokemon, but that doesn’t work out. They come into villages and have often attacked people and children, leading to intense fear of them. Jubilife was founded because the people fled their home region after their town was destroyed by a rampaging Pokemon. And when they came there, Pokemon started coming in as well (though most harmless) but people live in fear after being attacked unprovoked. Even still- they need items from the wild to make medicines to start which of course was unavoidable. Yes some Pokemon are docile, but others as has been shown in this game are just as likely to attack for no other reason other than to do so. In fact, the Pokemon Lords themselves are hailed as friends and lord protectors because they saw some Pokemon bullying people, just like humans do, minding their business and couldn’t defend themselves. The point of the Galaxy Corps is to learn from the Pokemon in a region they have no knowledge of, catching as many individuals and battling them to assess how best to approach or defend against while people travel. You as a trainer are one of only a handful that use Pokemon at all because of fear that they’ll just attack for no reason at all. Your purpose is to spread knowledge that they are just animals, you can learn about them and shouldn’t live in fear (that leads to conflicts and witch-hunts) of them. It’s a lot more complex that “just leave them alone and they’ll leave you alone ☺️”. Life happens and people have to understand their home, land and fauna alike, to survive. And both are just as unpredictable, so it’s best to simply be prepared. I release all my catches shortly after I collect data, and even better? It’s stated that the Galaxy corps sends them right back where you caught them. You send them right back home.
