I liked this mini-series in how it took a different approach to Pokemon than the Sci-Fi/Fantasy blend of the various Anime or many Manga. Plus, the western animation look was very well done like Pokemon was done by Disney (not that they need another brand under their belt).

As generic and by the numbers PttP is, I will say that I'd like to see Ava go up against Mark from Pokémon TCG for GBC. Now THAT would be a duel for the ages. I don't even really play Pokémon TCG, but even I can tell you that if Ava vs Mark really happened, that would be the TCG community's equivalent to Godzilla vs Kong.

Anyone else find the story annoying? When protag loses, she gets all sad and isn’t very sportsman-like but when she wins, the opponent suddenly becomes her bff. when she’s in a winning spot, she gets all cocky and goes “just play your heart out, lol”. I didnt see her “playing her heart out” when she was losing. I mean, yeah she’s a kid, but so is every opponent she had.
