Also known as WHY THE FUCK WOULD YOU BUFF INFERNAPE'S SPEED STAT??? Also, you can now buy Pokemon and TMs from the Game Corner, which is insanely free with the Rare Candy cheat giving you essentially infinite money. Unfortunately, it took me until around Cinnabar Island to realize that.
Other than Infernape, have something that can also deal well with Orthworm quickly so that it can't Shed Tail into Fillet Away Veluza.
I really should have swapped some team members out, but I kinda suffer from choice paralysis. Some Ghost type works for at least one turn against Mega Kangaskhan, or a pivot into Mienshao, that works too.

Nidoking has a Timid nature (increased speed) and maxed out speed EV's.

generally just lower the attack stat they don't need while raising either the attack stat they use for slower, bulkier mons (i.e. primarina) or speed for the fast and frail ones (i.e. mienshao, scyther)

minimal grinding mode definitely has an effect. no attacking EVs means some damage rolls are no longer guaranteed KOs, or KOs at all, and vice-versa with defensive EVs. hell, mons using booster energy may also get the wrong stat, like jolly nature gouging fire
