no i think the first one was the hardest... i havent played them in a long time but theres one mechanical difference that makes the first one the hardest especially so when you get further into the game... in almia and guardian signs they have health bars but in the first one you have to do a set number of loops in a row which varys with each pokemon and gets progressively higher the later into the game you get and it makes bosses like charizard and steelix and flygon absolute nightmares and all of the bosses really are pretty tough for that one fact alone as you have to be pretty quick on your loops and hope really hard that they dont do something to break your loop or force you to pick up your stylus... granted this means you could theoretically finish them pretty good in one flawless attempt unlike in almia or guardian signs but theory and practice tend to differ greatly... honestly from what i can tell with the postgame boss rayquaza you HAVE to do this in one flawless attempt as if you dont use a ghost pokeassist it will send energy in all directions after a single loop... in almia and guardian signs however they have health bars and you can use poke assists and what essentially amounts to pot shots to whittle their HP and keep it from going back down which means in almia you could cheese portions of boss health bars by using starly's flying assist where you make loops in the corner to make damaging tornados go everywhere... also your power goes up as you level in those games which helps make the ever increasing health bars not get out of crontrol so fast and that is one thing i cannot say for the first game... but then again its been a couple years since i played these games so take this unholy ranting wall of text with a grain of salt

could you cite some examples of things the game puts me through??? i know i played guardian signs and i believe i still have it lying around somewhere but my memory is pretty much shot... maybe i should go back to the series sometime... anyways i kinda doubt anything could be worse than rayquaza or steelix or charizard since theyre just nightmarish... so then what nightmares could guardian signs conjure up eh???

Doing these three fights was a NIGHTMARE on the Drowzee man challenge. I mean, it's not that hard once you've practiced it, but it ALWAYS gives me a huge adrenaline rush, so much so that I have to name the legendary beasts in this game as the hardest boss fight I've ever fought in a Pokemon game.

Steelix is annoying because it is luck based. All you can do is throw out Plusle/Minun and hope that Steelix gets locked in a good position that allows you to loop it. If it does, it's cake. If it's not, it's a forced death.

If you have a Dark-type Pokemon it's one of the easiest to capture. Otherwise, it's pratically impossible

2 years late but no, that thing was indeed supposed to look like a pipe organ. The Go Rock Squad had a musical theme about them and the Go Rock Quads also used their instruments to control pokemon. Gordor was pretty much playing his own theme when we confront him for the final time lol (the bgm at the time is a pipe organ song)

@nin10doadict Easiest way is to go slow. When he does the fire attack wait for him to step on one of the flames. Then slowly capture him.

I was pretty fortunate that I played the other two Ranger games first, so I was pretty good by the time I played this one. Charizard was the only boss to give me serious issues. Raikou, Suicune, and Entei were just tiring because of how long they took.

After like a nine year hiatus of this game I beat it! Then again, nine years ago I was five, so it makes sense that I wasn't able to beat that game then.

@joelcll Just suck up the damage and break a few of the little fireballs by touching them. It takes off 4 energy for each one, but if you clear a bunch of them out then it's easy to loop him up because he's so slow.

@HydreigonMaster I get frustrated when I have a boss comes unexpectedly and I realized I haven't saved for three missions. I end up hesitating TOO much, and my DS battery dies. Saddest moment when I had one loop to go against second form Entei. I guess Entei wasn't unexpected, but I forgot to save so... Another time my friend got a hold of my DS while I wasn't looking and he had a Game Over at around half a minute afterwards. So that game doesn't bring back good memories...

@HydreigonMaster I dunno... Maybe it's because I don't hesitate much, I can circle really quickly with really small circles and I find it easy to dodge its Hyper Beam without losing my streak. The trio, including Salamence, makes it harder, but then again, having multiple pokemon in that game is always much harder than one overpowered pokemon. Steelix I found harder than Salamence as well. I found Flygon not hard, but a big pain, since my previous strategy doesn't work well.

Personally, I found Salamence much harder than Steelix. Pokemon Ranger 1 makes both Shadows of Almia and Guardian Signs seem really easy (excluding Guardian Signs past missions).

I've forgotten almost everything about Ranger 1's bosses, but I remember the sheer difficulty of Entei (which is appropriate, it's a final boss), the stupid Steelix that you needed your partner and a Dark-type to even have a chance at, and Salamence, which I was stuck on for months.

its been a heck of a long time since i last played pokemon ranger... but hardest bosses for me were flygon who was stupidly fast... steelix who will hurt you if you touch anything other than the head and is super long and is constantly moving and takes several loops to capture... i remember charizard being annoying... the first entei encounter was annoying but i played it safe... took out the magmars first and let up my styler whenever it would attack... dont remember much else... but i know that most every boss in that game was hard...

@HydreigonMaster Woah, didn't mean to hit a sour spot... O.O I found Charizard hard for one reason: If you rush it (which is what I've always done), you'll die in five seconds. The only reason the Kingdra duo would be hard is because of what I said previously: any two pokemon are very hard. And like I said, Flygon wasn't hard, but it is so fast! I thought Steelix was hard just because I was young when I did it, maybe I should play it again.

f! I used my minun's power on suicune! And I thought raikou was tough cause of the lightning. I used a glailie for raikou and minun for suicune. I used the remaining five pokemon I had against entei. Surprissingly, I thought it was easier to capture them when I did it again from the drowzee man.
