The picture goes with this song so well. When I was a kid, Sapphire was the first Pokemon game I owned, and I picked Mudkip as my starter. I got really attached to him, and he evolved into the best Swampert I've ever had. I had no idea about stats back then, but I wish I still had him so I could move him to a newer game and check his IV's. I lent the game to a friend, and her brother deleted my file. I still think about that Swampert :\

Wow... I don't even associate that much nostalgia with the original song, but this is a masterpiece. I literally got chills at 1:33 during my first listen through. Listening to this song was one of the best auditory experiences I've ever felt. I'm stunned. Everything about this arrangement is perfect. 2:58 is the icing on the cake. This honestly might be the most beautiful piece of music I've ever heard. I love how each portion of the song has a different feel to it. Suspense and power followed by delicacy. I can't remember the last time I felt this listening to a piece.

ive already made i comment on this but i want you to know just what this really means to me. when i was a child i had a joyous child like sense of wonder adventure and amazement when i played pokemon ruby. when i first got the game i was more happy than almost any other time in my life. the game filled so much in my life from the exploration and grandeur of the world i loved so much (and it wasnt the real world lol) to the since of strength and accomplishment (from clicking flamethrower a billion times on one pokemon the whole way xd). i dont have that child like since of wonder anymore i know ALOOOT about the world know and how the human race works and its alot like the upgrade go back meme. but i do have a burning unstoppable desire for excellence and this music piece is FAR beyond excellent and if i could be even 1/8 the musician you are (or were at the time idk how things are now havent checked) i would be over joyed. this music piece is far more than just a song to me. its a reminder of my child hood (in a good way) and what life can really be and a cause for hope for the future and who knows maybe even if i cant have that life my kids will have it :D. but its still even more than that. people nowa days barely put any effort into anything and it litterrally makes me physically sick but knowing a music piece like this exists means and reminds me that there are other people out there who strive for excellence wholeheartedly and that means basicly everything to me. even if somehow you made this halfheartedly or didnt even try (frankly i wouldnt want to know that) it still means all that to me. things like these are more valuable to me than any amount of money and i sincerely mean that and i sincerely thank you. have a nice day :D

The build up is absolutely mesmerising. Way back during the RSE days, kid me always felt Southern Island and Faraway Islands mystique, along with the eeriness of the Abandoned Ship/SS Cactus back then too, same with Sea Mauville in ORAS that all these themes area based off. This combines each one’s magic within an epic arrangement 👏👏👏 The chills at 1:33 though! Bravo!

I didn't grow up with these games even though I grew up with people around them. I just couldn't keep up with Pokémon due to fatigue. In 1999, Pokémon Red & Blue released in Europe. A year later, Yellow released. In 2001, Gold, Silver and Crystal were released. It took me a while to put Blue aside to even give Gold a go, but when I did I fell in love with it, but before I knew it, it was 2003 and there were more Pokémon games. Ruby & Sapphire. I couldn't keep up and I just wanted to move on. About a decade and a half later I finally gave the Hoenn games a go, and you know what? For a reboot of the series, they really are quite genuine, heartfelt games. They really tried to recreate the world of Pokémon for a new era and the music is fantastic. I felt a sense of second-hand nostalgia from listening to some of the tracks and you've really cranked it up to 11 here. This is a great rendition of the Abandoned Ship theme

I agree with @JohnFerrieMusic about the song being the most nostalgic theme of the whole playlist and the way he arranged it gives us a new perspective to it's enviroment. I love the introduction, with violins playing gently to the sound of a silent harp and waves soaring over the surface. It reminds me of my silent times by the shores, where I feel nothing but calmness. There is also the progression. The volyme rises with new instruments coming with the ride. I even enjoy the bells, it gives me the image of large ships. I think it should includes my perspectives for this theme. I enjoyed it with my heart and wont stop listening to it. Keep up the good work.

Wow, you nailed this. I think I missed the Abandoned Ship until after the Elite Four on my first playthrough - you sail past it with Mr. Briney at the start of the game, but I forgot to go back until later so I guess it always had a sense of mystery, and hidden treasure waiting to be discovered.

This is so wonderful. It has been a profound source of inspiration to me, and I use this as the theme of a beautiful place in the story I am writing, when I write. I guess I never commented anything even though I've been listening to this for years. But, you may be the first person who has not only remastered one of the pieces of music of my childhood perfectly, but far, far transcended the beauty even of the original piece. I usually just hope for faithful remasters, made with better sound software than the original creators had at their disposal, but this is on another level than even the best remasters. This really is something special... thank you. This theme is the main theme that reminds me of Hoenn, and first playing Pokemon Sapphire 10+ years ago.

I joined the Pokemon community a bit late, I think late 2017. My first game was Crystal, emulated on a school Chromebook without sound (unfortunately the website no longer exists), but later that year I found out about this other website (matthewbauer, it's blocked at school now though) that could emulate basically anything from NES, SNES, and GBA. I eventually tried out Pokemon Ruby, and now that I brought earbuds to school, I could actually listen to the music. Not only is this song nostalgic of that time, but some parts remind me of the Wall-E soundtrack - I watched that movie dozens of times as a child. Good memories all around.
