Came by to say nope that's not how it works. Once you switch into his juced form he will remain that way for the rest of the battle. If he went back and forth every switch the ability would've said so. There's also footage of him changing forms and remaining that way. @@pouihurmen Remember Tera type change gimmick. Hisuian Arcanine is slower than Kanto Arcanine, so you will likely be encountering water types that are faster than you. While it won't counter ground weakness, it would turn even Wild Charge into a STAB move while keeping the fire and rock STAB and reduce your weaknesses down to 2x ground Pokemon that do resist both fire and rock also don't like electric on type moves typically, and can help with checking those who are using Tera gimmick themselves.

To be fair, Defiant was bad on Hisuian Braviary. It had worse on attack stat to begin with and its best 100 accuracy physical psychic move was Psycho Cut. Swapping it out needed either Contrary, or Tinted Lense to replace it with an ability it could use. Game Freak made their choice there.

All of which have access to dark or rock moves, meaning you would not want to take a hit from them to begin with. With Tinted Lense, there is a grand total of 0 type combinations that resist Hisuian Braviary's STAB types, making it even better than Noctowl for the niche. It also ensures there is no truly safe switch if it ends up getting access to Superpower

IDK what to think about his signature move in comparison to ceruledge's busted HP drain move. Armarouge's sig is basically special attack version of CC. Might work well with weak armor speed boost. Since it's base speed is terrible.

I do however like the idea of weak armor swords dance for the purple one, with a focus sash for safety.

These ability nerfs are honestly crazy, I know they were mostly for vgc, but damn this changed the entire metagame before the new Pokémon are even included. I’m still on the train that defensive abilities like regenerater shouldn’t be nerfed cause defensive mons have already been dismantled enough from power creep and knock off boost; I’m assuming now pokemon like Greninja, Cinderace, and the grass starter will be OU (when available spoilers!!!! Just in case they’re supposed to have protean), which is cool but I feel the entire ou Meta is completely changed now, which isn’t entirely a bad thing now.

I think the recovery nerf will ruin bulky offense, balance ,stall and ruin the viability and longevity of trickroom teams. And they nerfing defiant, contrary, and protean is not healthy. People should be able to play what style they want and not just have to use hyper offense which is fun but the other nerfs make it hard to have creative team building. Have a meta with old recovery, not nerf protean, defiant, contrary and I am good. But bring back the timer or have option to do longer timer and be able to save the battle.

Really introduced heavy duty boots in gen 8 to prepare for gen 9 Does the "activate once" on the protosynthesis and quark drive mean once per game or once when it is on the field? Imagine protosynthesis or quark drive in doubles. every time the weather/terrain changes you get a +1 In singles you have tapu koko or a sun team and you switch in a paradox mon, +1 from the item +1 from the weather. And then if the weather/terrain gets changed back from like opposing drought/electric terrain (or manually set up) another +1 Shit would be insta banned I can see it being either once per battle or one activation on field. Unlike protean or intrepid sword, the activate once is a specialty instead of being apart of the description so its not entirely clear I think even if it was an item i think it would get banned cause some mons would be able to heavily abuse it. For example Volcarona, salamence or gyrados You can either have triple stab which is crazy, stab plus adaptability while retaining your original ability Gyrados and salamence have great abilities in the form of intimidate and moxie, pair that up with adaptability or triple stab and its crazy powerful. Imagine regular mence that's a pure steel type with DD, EQ, Terablast & Roost with moxie or intimidate. With intimidate, nothing is killing you ever and with moxie Volc just become ground. Quiver + flame + bug buzz + terablast = switch in is only blissey? or go with quiver + roost + flame + terablast Volc becomes steel for blissey toxic. QD + roost + flame + bug buzz = only switch in is pex Heatran magma does around 43% max to bulky steel volc at +2 (spedef and def spread is switched) so you need to hit every magma (or crit one) or steel bulky volc just sets up on you and out lasts the magma since roost/magma have the same PP & at +2 EP is not doing enough, only gives it a chance to get a 3rd QD Mega evolution was balanced cause you got a boost, stat redistribution, no item & ability change the only broken mega's were the ones with insane stats, ability to hold an item and a good ability (the ability given was the factor which broke a mega or not). Z moves were balanced by restricting you to no item and were 1 time use Dynamax was broken cause every mon could do it and the max moves were so broken Tera can only be balanced (even with no item) if the only pokemon which can terastalize are garbage, restricted to certain types or have garbage abilities Giving a mon with a good ability and set up adaptability or triple stab with a good typing is so broken

Braviary should’ve got competitive instead of tinted lens. I was thinking it’d be a cool RU/UU mon with sheer force but now with tinted lens I could see it being OU. Specs sets get free hits for big damage every time except against Blissey. Tho sheer force with STAB psychic + hurricane and heat wave for coverage is heat.
